NSA Stokes Educational Scholarship Program

Award: $30,000, Deadline: October 31

Applicant be a U.S. citizen. Applicant must have a minimum combined SAT score of 1600 (composite ACT score of 25), a minimum 3.0 GPA, one letter of recommendation, transcript, leadership abilities, and have participated in extracurricular activities.

 

Lyle Mamer Fellowship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be pursuing graduate work toward an advanced degree in any phase of the utility industry. Selection is based upon academic aptitude, vocational promise, character, financial need, and willingness to continue a career in a field related to electrical energy. These fields include communications, education, electrical engineering, electric utilities, extension work, housing and home furnishings, journalism, manufacturers of electrical household equipment, marketing, radio, research, and television.

 

RMCMI Scholarship

Award: $2,750, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time student and be a resident of one of the RMCMI member states: Arizona, Colorado, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Texas, Utah, or Wyoming.

 

Men's Auxiliary of the SWE (MASWE) Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a woman and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applicant must demonstrate financial need and be in an ABET-accredited engineering program, engineering at SWE-approved institution, or computer science in a CSAB-accredited program or at an ABET-accredited or SWE-approved institution.

 

Ivy Parker Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a woman, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and demonstrate financial need. Applicant must be in an ABET-accredited engineering program, engineering at SWE-approved institution, or computer science in a CSAB-accredited program or at an ABET-accredited or SWE-approved institution.

 

Olive Lynn Salembier Reentry Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: May 15

Applicant must be a woman who has been out of the engineering job market for a minimum of two years. Applicant must be in an ABET-accredited engineering program, engineering at SWE-approved colleges and universities, or computer science in a CSAB-accredited program or at an ABET-accredited or SWE-approved institution. Scholarship is to aid in obtaining the credentials necessary to re-enter the job market as an engineer.

 

Julia Kiene Fellowship in Electrical Energy

Award: $2,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, a woman, a SWE member, and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applicant must be in an ABET-accredited engineering program, engineering at SWE-approved institution, or computer science in a CSAB-accredited program or at an ABET-accredited or SWE-approved institution.

 

General Motors Foundation Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a woman, have a minimum 3.5 GPA, demonstrate leadership with a position of responsibility in a student organization, and have a career interest in the automotive industry and/or manufacturing environment. Applicant must be in an ABET-accredited engineering program, engineering at SWE-approved institution, or computer science in a CSAB-accredited program or at an ABET-accredited or SWE-approved institution.

 

GTE Foundation Scholarship

Rockwell Corporation Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a minority woman with a minimum 3.5 GPA. Applicant must demonstrate leadership ability and be in an ABET-accredited engineering program, engineering at SWE-approved institution, or computer science in a CSAB-accredited program or at an ABET-accredited or SWE-approved institution. Applicants from underrepresented groups preferred.

 

Allan Lucas Memorial Educational Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a full-time student who plans to pursue lighting education or research as apart of their undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral studies. Applicant must be a junior, senior, or graduate student in an accredited four-year college or university located in Northern California.

 

Lake Erie Electric Scholarship

Applicant must be a high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student who is pursuing a career in the electrical or electrical engineering industry. FAFSA and Student Aid Report are required. Award amount is determined by committee.

 

Bechtel Corporation Scholarship

Applicant must have be a woman, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and be an SWE member. Applicant must be in an ABET-accredited engineering program, engineering at SWE-approved colleges and universities, or computer science in a CSAB-accredited program or at an ABET-accredited or SWE-approved institution.

 

Henderson Electric Industry Scholarship

Applicant must be an electrical engineering student. Applicant must have graduated from a Jefferson County math, science, or technology magnet high school.

 

Patricia Collins Amaral Memorial Fund

Award: $600, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a senior who has a minimum 3.0 GPA and who has demonstrated the finest qualities of leadership through participation in campus organizations and has rendered service of significant benefit to the campus community.

 

Alumni Association Scholarship

Applicant must demonstrate community leadership and have met the award criteria established by the Alumni Association's Scholarship Committee. Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31. Applicants who have transferred from Massachusetts Community Colleges, Dean College, or Quincy College are eligible to apply.

 

Brenda Karnasiewicz-Freese Scholarship

HSF/Hewlett Packard Diversity in Education Scholarship Program

Applicant must be an underrepresented minority (African American, Latino, or American Indian) student who is looking to pursue a bachelor of science degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering at an HP scholarship university.

 

Maureen L. and Howard Blitman, P.E., Scholarship to Promote Diversity in Engineering

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a high school senior who is a United States citizen and a member of an underrepresented ethnic minority in the field of engineering: African-American, Hispanic, or Native American. Applicant must also be accepted into an ABET-accredited engineering program at a four-year college or university. Selection will be based upon GPA, internship/co-op experience, recommendations, honors/scholarships/awards, and responses to questions found on the application.

 

Josephine Beam Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 14

Applicant must be matriculated in the College of Engineering or the College of Mines and Earth Sciences.

 

City Tech NSF Technology Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: August 12 (fall); March 16 (spring)

Applicant must be a United States citizen, permanent resident, refugee or aslyee who is enrolled full-time. Freshmen applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA ("85" high school academic average) and 12 CPI units including at least two maths, two English, and two sciences. Current FAFSA must be filed, personal statement, and two letters of recommendation are required to be submitted.

 

ASCO Numatics Industrial Automation Engineering Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate program in an engineering, instrumentation, systems, electrical, mechanical, or automation discipline at an accredited United States educational institution for the upcoming academic year. At the time of application, applicant must have completed at least their sophomore year in a bachelor's degree program have a minimum 3.2 GPA, and be a United States citizen or legal United States resident. Selection will be based on applicant's potential for leadership and for making a significant contribution to the engineering, instrumentation, systems, electrical, mechanical, and automation professions, particularly as they relate to the application of fluid control and fluid power technology.

 

Toyota Scholarship

Award: $14,000, Deadline: February 1 (December 1 for early action/decision)

Applicant must be admitted to the College of Engineering and Computer Science. Campus visit by April 10 is required.

 

RIT/SAE Engineering Scholarship

Award: $6,000, Deadline: December 15

Applicant must be enrolled in a engineering technology or engineering program. Selection is based upon academic record and leadership abilities.

 

HSF/Wal-Mart Stores College Scholarship Program

Award: $2,500, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a United States citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 who is of Hispanic heritage and is a sophomore, junior, senior, or first, or second year Master's student enrolled full-time with a minimum 3.0 GPA in a degree-seeking program at an accredited college or university in the United States, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, or Guam. FAFSA is required. Program will begin as of fall 2009.

 

Francis M. Dowd Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be the son or daughter of a permanent Raytheon employee, who has been accepted to the University of Massachusetts Amherst campus as a full-time student in engineering, physical sciences or mathematics. Selection based on academic promise and financial need.

 

The New American Scholarship and Internship Program

Award: $3,000, Deadline: November 15

Applicant must be a Latino student enrolled in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited four-year college or university who is seeking a degree in business, engineering (all disciplines), computer science/computer engineering, information systems/decision sciences, mathematics/statistics/sciences. Applicant must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future. Selection based up on academic performance, essay responses, extra-curricular/interests/community service, demonstrated leadership, communication/interpersonal skills, and work experience. Program provides a combination of scholarship assistance and a possible structured, multi-year internship for Latino college students. The internships are designed to work with major corporations, and at the same time, provide students with a pathway to high-level careers in the private sector.
