Scholarship for Professional Degree Candidates

Award: $2,500, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must attend a school accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board or recognized by the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada. Selection is based upon statement of goals, academic performance, recommendations, and financial need. Application available only through schools.

 

Selected Professions Science & Technology Fellowship

Award: $20,000, Deadline: January 10; November 15 (dissertation fellowships)

Applicant must be a woman in her final year of a master's degree program (including one-year programs) in architecture, computer/information science, engineering, and mathematics/statistics, or of a doctoral program in engineering. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Fellow must be enrolled full time and receive her degree at the end of the year.

 

Architecture Master Degree Traveling Fellowship

Award: $15,000, Deadline: December 9

Applicant must submit a portfolio and travel plan and be recommended by school. Applicant must be graduating with a master's degree; award is for post-graduate travel and study.

 

Stewardson Keefe LeBrun Travel Grant

Award: $15,000, Deadline: May 21

Selection is based upon resume, travel plans, and reason for travel.

 

Douglas Haskell Award

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 23

Applicants must submit article, essay, or journal that has been or will soon be published.

 

Stewardson Keefe LeBrun Travel Grant

Award: $20,000, Deadline: April 18

Applicant must be a United States citizen with a degree in architecture, who is a full-time practitioner, either licensed or unlicensed. Grant encourages travel within North America and overseas in the furtherance of the architectural education and professional development of the recipients. At least one award will be given to an architectural graduate who received their first professional degree at least five years prior to the date of submission.

 

Alfred T. Granger Student Art Fund Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a Vermont resident pursuing a degree in architectural engineering, architecture, interior design, lighting design, mechanical drawing, or studio art at an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Academic achievement and financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Arnold W. Brunner Grant

Award: $30,000, Deadline: October 24

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen engaged in the profession of architecture or a related field and have a professional background more advanced than five years of architectural training or its equivalent.

 

Eleanor Allwork Scholarship Grant Programs

Award: $7,000, Deadline: March 23

Applicants must be enrolled in architectural programs at schools in New York City and New York State. Applicants are nominated by Deans of architecture schools based on high levels of academic achievement and evidence of financial need.

 

Scholarship for Advanced Study and Research

Award: $2,500, Deadline: February 14

Applicant must have a five-year B.Arch. or M.Arch. degree. Selection is based upon the merit of the proposed project. Project must be done under the director of a U.S. institution. Award is not to be used for tuition assistance.

 

SPAB Lethaby Scholarship

Award: $7,000, Deadline: December 1

Award is for nine-month building conservation training in the UK. Selection is based upon application and interview in London. Award is in British Pounds Sterling.

 

Structural Engineering Traveling Fellowship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: December 9

Applicant must be nominated by his or her school, be graduating with a master's or doctoral degree, and submit a paper and travel plan. Applicant must specialize in structural engineering. Award is for post-graduation travel and study.

 

Architecture Traveling Fellowship - Second-Professional Degree

Award: $10,000, Deadline: December 9

Applicant must submit a portfolio and travel plan and be recommended by school. Applicant must be graduating with a M.Arch. second-professional degree. Award is for post-graduate travel and study.

 

Interior Architecture Traveling Fellowship

Award: $7,500, Deadline: December 9

Applicant must submit portfolio and travel plan and be recommended by an accredited U.S. school. Applicant must hold a bachelor's or master's degree. Award is for post-graduation travel and study.

 

Urban Design Fellowship

Award: $7,500, Deadline: December 9

Applicant must be nominated by his or her school and be graduating from a master's degree program in urban design. Applicant must submit portfolio and travel plan. Award is for post-graduation travel and study.

 

AIA New Jersey Scholarship

Applicant must be a resident of New Jersey who is enrolled in an accredited architecture school.

 

SAME Engineer/Architect Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 11

Applicant must be a Ventura County resident who is either a high school senior or college freshman, sophomore, or junior with a minimum 3.0 GPA and majoring in engineering or architecture. Two letters of recommendation attesting to scientific capabilities are required to be submitted.

 

John and Ruth Maciag Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a resident of Rutland County, VT who will pursue education or training in architecture, architectural engineering, computer graphics and animation, fine arts, interior design, studio art, or a related field. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Fellowship in Health Facilities Design

Award: $8,500, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a U.S. or Canadian citizen interested in the field of health-care architecture. Fellowship is available for any of the following options: graduate study at an accredited school of architecture associated with a school of hospital administration or near hospital resources; independent graduate-level study, research, or design in the health facilities field; or travel with in-residence research at hospitals in a predetermined area.

 

Regents Professional Opportunity Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: May 31

Applicant must be beginning or already enrolled in an approved degree-bearing program of study in New York State that leads to licensure in a particular profession. Purpose of award is to increase representation of minority and disadvantaged individuals in New York State licensed professions.

 

James W. Fitzgibbon Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a high school senior who has demonstrated outstanding scholastic potential for a professional career in architecture. Selection based upon secondary school rank and SAT Reasoning/ACT scores.

 

King and Johnson Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a high school graduate and resident of Tennessee, show promise in architecture, and demonstrate financial need. Award includes internship employment with King and Johnson Architects, Inc.

 

Richard Cecil Hicks Educational Fund Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a man, have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA, and must demonstrate financial need.

 

Olivia Jackson McGee Endowed Scholarship

Award: $1,100, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA and be the child or grandchild of a Clemson U tenured professor; if no eligible applicant meets the criteria, the scholarship will be awarded to a student in architecture or English.

 

NAWIC Founders' Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 1

Selection is based upon applicant's grades, extracurricular activities, employment experience, interest in construction, evaluations, and financial need.

 

Olivia James Traveling Fellowship

Award: $25,000, Deadline: November 1

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen. Preference is given to projects of at least a half year's duration and to students of the archaeology, architecture, classics, history, and sculpture. Award is for travel and study in the Aegean Islands, Asia Minor, Greece, Mesopotamia, Sicily, or southern Italy and is not intended to support field excavation projects.

 

RTKL Traveling Fellowship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: February 14

Applicant must be planning to travel outside the U.S. and must be in the next-to-last year of a bachelor or master of architecture program or be accepted in a professional degree program. Selection is based upon statement of purpose, relevance of travel plans to educational goals, academic performance, and recommendations.

 

Matt Locke Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,200, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA.

 

AWA Scholarship Awards

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 16

Applicant must be a California resident attending an accredited school in California who has completed at least 18 units in their major in a program granting a degree or certificate. Selection is based solely upon merit.
