Applicant must be a student from New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania majoring or (for high school seniors) declaring a major in a communications-related field with a minimum GPA of 3.2. Selection is based upon academic excellence and need and involvement in the field of communications.

These fields include communications, education, electrical engineering, electric utilities, extension work, housing and home furnishings, journalism, manufacturers of electrical household equipment, marketing, radio, research, and television.

Applicant must be a United Methodist of racial ethnic minority heritage and must be a recent college or seminary graduate who has broad communications training, including an understanding of effective public relations. Applicant must consider pursuing communications for The United Methodist Church as a career. Fluency in English and ability to relocate for one year are required. Fellowship offers a mentoring experience intended to prepare the recipient for a communications career in an Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church in the United States.

Applicant must be of Greek/American heritage and be a current full-time journalism or communications major at the graduate or undergraduate level in an accredited college or university in the United States. Active participation in school, community, church organizations, financial need, and a minimum 3.0 GPA are required. Scholarships are presented each spring at Alpha Omega Council's Annual Lifetime Achievement Award Dinner, during which time a noted individual or organization from within the Greek/American community is recognized for contributions to Hellenic and Orthodox ideals.

Preference will be give to an applicant who: plans on working for either the South Dakota Game and Fish Department or the Colorado Game, Fish & Parks Department; plans on working for the Game & Fish departments of any other state; is planning a career in Wildlife Management (state, federal, or private); or is planning a career in photography and/or journalism.

Applicant must be currently enrolled at a community college with a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and have plans to transfer and enroll as a full-time student pursuing a degree in business, engineering, communications, or media arts at a four-year accredited institution. FAFSA is required. Program will begin as of fall 2009.
