Applicant must be a full-time graduate student. Selection is based upon academic promise and outstanding academic achievement. One scholarship gives priority to foreign or minority students studying in the continental U.S.; another gives priority to disabled students; and another gives priority to a minority student. Master's level students must be enrolled in or accepted to a program ccredited by te American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Council on Academic Accreditation.

Applicant must be a legal resident of Massachusetts and submit a letter of endorsement from the president of the sponsoring GFWC of MA club in the community of legal residence, a recommendation from department head of major, a letter stating reason for financial assistance, and college transcript. Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31. Applicants who have transferred from Massachusetts Community Colleges, Dean College, or Quincy College are eligible to apply.
