ACRES Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: December 10

Applicant must be a certified teacher employed (or have been employed) by a rural school district, be working with students with disabilities or be "retooling" for work in special education, be pursuing a goal of increasing skills in special education, and be a U.S. citizen. Selection is based upon application, essay, and letters of reference.

 

Child Welfare Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a Wisconsin resident who enrolled at an accredited school and is the child, wife, or widow of a veteran; granddaughters and great-granddaughters of veterans are eligible if they are American Legion Auxiliary members. Minimum 3.2 GPA and financial need required.

 

Career Incentive Program

Award: $3,000, Deadline: June 1 (fall); December 15 (spring)

Applicant must have a 3.0 GPA.

 

Patricia Collins Amaral Memorial Fund

Award: $600, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a senior who has a minimum 3.0 GPA and who has demonstrated the finest qualities of leadership through participation in campus organizations and has rendered service of significant benefit to the campus community.

 

Alumni Association Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must demonstrate community leadership and have met the award criteria established by the Alumni Association's Scholarship Committee. Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31. Applicants who have transferred from Massachusetts Community Colleges, Dean College, or Quincy College are eligible to apply.

 

Shelby Rae Smith Memorial Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a resident of Hendricks County majoring in elementary or special education.

 

Janice Paige Hughes

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 16

Applicant must be a Henry County resident enrolled in a college or university in the state of Indiana entering at least their third year of study in the field of education.

 

New Castle Breakfast Optimist Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 16

Applicant must be a graduating senior from New Castle High School who will attend a four-year accredited college or university and major in medicine, physical therapy, special education or a related field.

 

Jackie Harrigan Haase Memorial Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,500, Deadline: April 16

Applicant must be a graduating senior from San Dieguito Union High School district who will pursue a career in counseling, medicine, nursing, psychology or special education. Minimum 2.0 GPA required.

 

Mary Kate Carney Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a resident of Arenac or Bay County, MI who will pursue a degree in speech/language pathology or special education. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

Bridgette Wegert Memorial Choral Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Wisconsin Dells High School who was an active participant in band or choir and will attend a four-year post-secondary institution with a major in music, nursing or special education.

 

Lydia Murray Memorial Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 30

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Bluffton High School who will pursue a career in music therapy, nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, special education or speech therapy.

 

John A. Tooley Scholarship for Developmental Disabilities

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a resident of Wayne County who will attend an accredited post-secondary institution pursuing a field of study in developmental disabilities or special education.

 

Huettig Memorial Scholarship

Award: $600, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a Portage County resident who is pursuing a degree in the field of special education. Minimum 2.0 GPA required.

 

Mr. Won Jin Lee Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 31

Applicant must be Korean-American and be enrolled as a full time student and majoring in special education. Selection is based upon financial need, academic achievement, extracurricular activities, and community service.

 

Joseph T. Weingold Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: January 9

Applicant must be a full-time student enrolled in an education degree program leading to special education certification in the state of New York. Nomination from Department Chairperson and letter of recommendation required.

 

James F. Reville Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: January 9

Applicant must be a full-time college student who is training in a field related to intellectual and other developmental disabilities in the state of New York. Must be actively involved in serving individuals who have intellectual and other developmental disabilities. Submission letter signed by the president of the local Chapter's Board of Directors and letter of recommendation from previous work or volunteer work required.

 

The Special Education Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: August 1

Applicant must be a legal resident of the United States who is a current college student majoring in special education. The applicant must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours of classes for the upcoming fall semester with a minimum 2.5 GPA. An essay on the following topic is required: Explain why you are pursuing a degree in special education and how you plan to make a difference in the lives of the disabled.

 

AGCO Corporation FFA Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicants must be current FFA members and high school seniors or college students planning to enroll or currently enrolled full-time. They must have one of the following undergraduate majors: agronomy, crop science, general agriculture, agricultural communications, education, journalism, extension, public relations, business management, economics, sales and marketing, engineering, mechanization, agriculture power and equipment or welding. Students only need to complete the online application one time to be considered for all FFA-administered scholarships. The application requires information about the student's activities and a 1,000-word essay. Awards may be used for books, supplies, tuition, fees and room and board. Students must show financial need and evidence of community service participation.

 

The NEA-Retired Jack Kinnaman Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: April 15

Applicants must be NEA student members, major in education and have a minimum 2.5 GPA. An essay describing activities in NEA, a brief paragraph describing financial need, two letters of recommendation and a copy of the most recent transcript are required.

 

The Special Education Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: August 1

Applicants must be majoring in special education and must be taking at least one major-required class in the upcoming fall semester. Applicants must also be U.S. citizens and have a minimum GPA of 2.5 or greater. Students will need to submit an essay describing why they are pursuing career in special education and how they plan to make a difference in the lives of the disabled. Selection is based on the essay.
