Applicant must be at least one-quarter Native American and be an enrolled member of a U.S. tribe that is federally recognized, state-recognized, or terminated, with high GPA and test scores and be enrolled in an accredited college or university.

Applicant must be an incoming freshman student graduating from Bryan County High School who plans to major in information systems. Bryan County High School graduates who plan to major in accounting, computer science, economics, finance, information technology, logistics, management, or marketing may also be considered. Selection is based upon academic record, relevant extracurricular activities, and potential for success in the major.

Applicant must be a United States citizen enrolled in an accredited two- or four-year institution in the United States who meets the following criteria: is on active duty in the uniformed military services or is an honorably discharged U.S. military veteran (including Reservist and National Guard personnel); who has served in Enduring Freedom Afghanistan or Iraqi Freedom combat operations; or is disabled as a result of combat operations in OEF or OIE. Applicant must be able to submit a copy of Certificate of Service or Discharge Form DD214. Veterans returning to school may apply as a freshman and/or be enrolled as a part-time student in a two-year or four-year institution.

Essay, two letters of recommendation, list of all awards received, list of Advanced Placement or Honors courses with grades, and transcripts are required to be submitted.

Applicant must submit a research proposal related to space and including an extramural research experience at a NASA field center, plan to be involved in ASGC outreach activities, and demonstrate career interests congruent to NASA's aerospace, science, and technology programs.
