National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Scholarship

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or national enrolled or accepted into an accredited school in the U.S.as a full-time student.

 

Commonwealth of Virginia Nurse Educator Scholarship Program

Award: $20,000, Deadline: July 31

Applicant must be accepted as a full-/part-time student in a school of nursing program.

Applicant must be enrolled in six credits per semester.

 

Memorial Education Fellowship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 1

Specified fields of study change each year. Applicant must be a woman maintaining a legal residence in Massachusetts for at least five years and must be sponsored by the president of the General Federation of Women's Clubs of Massachusetts club in her community of legal residence. Applicant must also submit letter of reference, personal letter, and transcript. Interview is required. SASE required.

 

Minnesota State Loan Repayment Program

Award: $20,000, Deadline: August 1

Award repays student loans.

 

Virginia's Nurse Practitioner/Nurse Midwife Program

Award: $5,000, Deadline: June 30

Applicant must be a Virginia resident at least one year prior to application, be accepted or enrolled as a full-time student, and have a minimum 3.0 GPA in required courses. Financial need must be demonstrated. Application and official transcripts are required to be submitted.

 

Nurses Educational Funds Scholarships

Award: $10,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a registered nurse who is a member of a professional nursing association, enrolled as a student in a NLNAC- or CCNE-accredited nursing masters or doctoral program in a nursing or nursing related field with a minimum 3.6 GPA. GRE or MAT scores are not required. A $20 feel is required to cover processing of the online application.

 

Medtronic Physio-Control Advanced Nursing Practice Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: April 28

Applicant must be a nurse seeking an advanced clinical practice degree and must submit typewritten application form, biographical sketch, personal statement, transcripts, and at least two references. Preference given to applicant focusing on cardiac nursing including cardiac resuscitation. Selection is based upon applicant's statement of goals, professional or ENA involvement, and GPA. Applicant must have been an ENA member for a minimum of 12 months.

 

Goodman-Goldstein VFW Post 6909

Applicant must be an established undergraduate student who is a member or relative of a member of a VFW post. Selection is based upon academic achievement and financial need. FAFSA (due by April 1) and Pell eligibility are required. 'Traveling Scholarship' (awarded to a student in a different college each year). 2008-09 scholarship will be awarded to a student in the College of Nursing.

 

Allen H. and Nydia Meyers Foundation Scholarship

Applicant must be a student residing in a Lenawee County School District who is graduating from a Lenawee County High School. Appliacnt must be planning to attend a school of higher education and major in aeronautics or the sciences/allied fields.

 

Health Research Training Program

Applicant must be a New York City resident who is attending a metropolitan New York City school. The program offers internships in public health research, community outreach and education, fieldwork, laboratory work and administration to all college undergraduates, graduate, and professional school students.

 

Professional Nurses' Student Loan Repayment

Applicant must be a Texas resident currently practicing in Texas as a professional nurse. Applicant must demonstrate financial need.

 

Inger Lawrence-M.R. Bauer Foundation Advanced Nursing Studies Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a resident of the Greater Los Angeles Area who is committed to continuing the academic pursuit of a degree in nursing. Selection is based upon the applicant's potential to achieve goals, personal courage, and financial need.

 

Midwest Nursing Research Society (MNRS) Research Grant

Award: $2,500, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a registered nurse with a current license and hold a master's degree or be enrolled in a doctoral program. Project must be ready for implantation and can be completed within one year. Signed Research Grant Agreement and membership in good standing of the MNRS and Sigma Theta Tau International are required.

 

Stephanie Carroll Memorial Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: June 30

Applicant must be sponsored by a NADONA member-long term care related field.

 

PRN Grant

Albert E. And Florence W. Newton Nurse Scholarship

Applicant must be a license R.N. from a Rhode Island seeking a baccalaureate or graduate nursing degree. Preference will be given to students intending to practice nursing in Rhode Island.

 

Patricia Collins Amaral Memorial Fund

Applicant must be a senior who has a minimum 3.0 GPA and who has demonstrated the finest qualities of leadership through participation in campus organizations and has rendered service of significant benefit to the campus community.

 

Alumni Association Scholarship

Applicant must demonstrate community leadership and have met the award criteria established by the Alumni Association's Scholarship Committee. Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31. Applicants who have transferred from Massachusetts Community Colleges, Dean College, or Quincy College are eligible to apply.

 

Health Sciences Scholarship

Applicant must be a fourth-year medical student entering a primary care internship/residency in West Virginia, be enrolled in the final year of a nurse practitioner, or an undergraduate physician assistant educational program at a West Virginia school.

 

Orfalea Scholarship Award

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior or Ventura County high school graduate enrolling or already enrolled at an accredited vocational school, community college, or four-year college or university. Applicant must be an early childhood education or teaching major, or any major provided applicant is able to meet at least one of the following requirements: has a documented learning difference/is a non-traditional learner; is under 24 years of age and has a parent employed as a nurse, teacher (pre-K to grade 12), or at a non-profit agency; is under the age of 24 and is the child of a single parent; has completed the Montana Yellowstone Expedition Summer Program.

 

Auxiliary of Radford Community Hospital/CNRVMC Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 6

Applicant must be a resident of Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, or Pulaski Counties or a resident of the city of Radford who is a high school graduate or student with a GED. Applicant must be pursuing a career in nursing or a related health profession (excluding those who intend to become physicians). Financial need and above average academic ability are required.

 

Boyle Endowment for Nursing Studies

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a high school in Creston, Onawa, Rock Rapids, Rockwell City or Shenandoah, IA or North Platte, NE.

 

Annual NBNA Scholarships

Award: $6,000, Deadline: April 15

Applicants must be African Americans currently enrolled in a nursing program and be in good academic standing, be members of the NBNA, be members of a local chapter and have at least a full year of school remaining. Applicants must submit with their application an essay, references, an official transcript and evidence of participation in student nurse activities and involvement in the African American community.

 

NHSC Scholarship

Applicants must be enrolled or accepted into allopathic or osteopathic medical schools, family nurse practitioner programs, nurse-midwifery programs, physician assistant programs or dental school. Upon completion of training, scholars must choose practice sites in federally designated health professional shortage areas for one year for each year of support received.

 

Caroline E. Holt Nursing Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: February 10

Applicants must demonstrate financial need and attend an accredited school of nursing. All applicants must obtain a letter of sponsorship from their local DAR chapter. However, no affiliation with DAR is necessary.

 

Madeline Pickett (Halbert) Cogswell Nursing Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: February 10

Applicants must desire to attend or be attending an accredited school of nursing. Students must be members, descendants of members or eligible for membership in NSDAR. The DAR member number must be submitted on the application.

 

Nursing Education Scholarship Program

Applicants must be Illinois residents, having lived in the state for one year prior to applying and be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Applicants must be accepted to or enrolled in an approved nursing program and demonstrate financial need. Scholarship recipients must agree to work as a nurse in Illinois after graduation.

 

AfterCollege / AACN Nursing Scholarship Fund

Award: $2,500, Deadline: June 30; September 30; December 31; March 31

Applicants must be enrolled in a bachelor's, master's or doctoral program in nursing at an AACN member institution and have a minimum 3.25 GPA.

 

Health Resources and Services Administration-Bureau of Health Professions Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students

Award: $30,000, Deadline: June 30

Applicants must be full-time students, be from a disadvantaged background, demonstrate financial need and be studying in a health field, including medicine, nursing, veterinary medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and others. They must be U.S. citizens, nationals or permanent residents. All other criteria are set by individual schools.
