Applicant must be a female full-time student at the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Engineering. Focus on one of the following disciplines is required: civil and materials, electrical and computer, computer science, or mechanical engineering. Applicant must show evidence of above average academic performance (minimum GPA 3.0/4.0). Women of color (African American, Latina, Native American) are encouraged to apply. Application coversheet, biographical statement, current resume or CV (list your education and employment history), UIC transcript, proof of financial aid eligibility, proof of U.S. citizenship (copy of birth certificate or passport), and two letters of recommendation (include at least one from a UIC instructor) required.

Applicant must demonstrate community leadership and have met the award criteria established by the Alumni Association's Scholarship Committee. Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31. Applicant must be a high school senior who is a United States citizen and a member of an underrepresented ethnic minority in the field of engineering: African-American, Hispanic, or Native American. Applicant must also be accepted into an ABET-accredited engineering program at a four-year college or university. Selection will be based upon GPA, internship/co-op experience, recommendations, honors/scholarships/awards, and responses to questions found on the application.
