Applicant must be participating in a degree program at an accredited institution, is a Costume Society of America member, and has research projects in the field of North American costume which are part of the degree requirements. Selection is based upon creativity and innovation, specific awareness of and attention to costume matters, impact on the broad field of costume, awareness of interdisciplinarity of the field, ability to successfully implement the proposed project in a timely manner, and faculty advisor recommendation.

Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31. Applicant must be a high school senior, undergraduate or graduate student in Canada, the U.S. or the United Kingdom. Special consideration is given to students majoring in English/creative writing, journalism, fashion or design. Applicant must write a 600- to 800-word blog post on a wedding topic.
