Postdoctoral Fellowship

Applicant must be a recent recipient (within two or three years) of a doctoral degree and have an interest in oceanographic sciences or engineering. Transcripts, at least three recommendations, and a statement of research interests/career plans are required to be submitted. Selection is based upon applicant's research potential.

 

CICOR Postdoctoral Scholar Fellowship

Applicant must hold a doctoral-level degree. Selection is based upon academic record, research promise, and relevance of the applicant's scientific interests to the research themes of CICOR. Our World Underwater Scholarship Society Internship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: January 31

Applicant must be an experienced scuba diver, have a good academic record, pass a physical exam, and be interested in an underwater-related career. Applicant must submit resume and written statements. Award is for reimbursement of travel and living expenses.

 

Graduate Student Fellowship

Award: $6,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduate student researching marine sciences at the Smithsonian Marine Station at Fort Pierce, Florida for a period of 12 weeks. Research must be conducted in association with a member of the Smithsonian professional research staff.

 

Sport Diver Magazine Publishing Internship

Applicant must have marketing, marine biology, and photography skills. SCUBA diving certificate is preferred.

 

U.S. Navy Engineering Internship

Applicant must show an interest in engineering, mathematics, physics or marine biology. Internship will involve work with a world class scientist or engineer on hull, mechanical and electrical technologies for U.S. Navy ships and ship systems.

 

John D. Isaacs Scholarship

Applicant must enter a marine science project in a regional or county science fair in their junior or senior year of high school. Additionally, students in their senior year must have applied to (and by the following fall have enrolled in) a four-year college or university in California.

 

Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship

California Sea Grant State Fellow Program

Applicant must be a graduate student with a degree in a marine-related field at a California university. Applicants must demonstrate interest and experience in both marine science and public policy.

 

Laurie Ircandia Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must have a minimum 3.2 GPA and intend to pursue graduate study. Selection is based upon academic merit and extracurricular activities in the fields of study.

 

John A. Knauss Sea Grant Fellowship

Award: $43,500, Deadline: February 29

Applicant must be attending an accredited U.S. institution and may apply through a local Sea Grant program. Selection based upon academic ability, communications skills, diversity and appropriateness of academic background, additional qualifying experience, support of major professor, and support of Sea Grant director. Other factors, such as geographical representation, disciplinary balance, and ability to work with others are considered.

Applicant must demonstrate community leadership and have met the award criteria established by the Alumni Association's Scholarship Committee. Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31.
