Scholarships in Architectural Engineering

AIA West Virginia Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: May 30

Applicant must be a student enrolled at Fairmont State University in a four-year non-professional B.S.Arch. program.

 

B.J. Harrod Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a woman with a minimum 3.5 GPA. Applicant must be in an ABET-accredited engineering program, engineering at SWE-approved institution, or computer science in a CSAB-accredited program or at an ABET-accredited or SWE-approved institution.

 

Dorothy M. and Earl S. Hoffman Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: May 15

Applicant must be a woman with a minimum 3.5 GPA. Applicant must be in an ABET-accredited engineering program, engineering at SWE-approved colleges and universities, or computer science in a CSAB-accredited program or at an ABET-accredited or SWE-approved institution. Preference is given to Bucknell U and Rensselaer Polytechnic Inst students.

 

New Jersey Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 15

Applicant must be a woman with a minimum 3.5 GPA who is a resident of New Jersey. Applicant must be in an ABET-accredited engineering program, engineering at SWE-approved colleges and universities, or computer science in a CSAB-accredited program or at an ABET-accredited or SWE-approved institution.

 

Past Presidents Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a woman with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applicant must be in an ABET-accredited engineering program, engineering at SWE-approved colleges and universities, or computer science in a CSAB-accredited program or at an ABET-accredited or SWE-approved institution.

 

Charles E. Peterson Fellowship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must hold a terminal degree and possess a distinguished record of accomplishment. Research is not subject to geographical restrictions, although preference is given to Delaware Valley topics. Award applications should be submitted in the form of a single-page leter setting forth a brief statement of the project, with attached budget, schedule for completion, and professional resume. Two letters of reference should be requested by the applicant and submitted directly to the committee.

 

Charles E. Peterson Internship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant should outline his or her project and explain why access to the research facilities of the Philadelphia region is required. Applicant should also submit a resume of academic and related work experience. A letter of reference is required from the student's principal professor.

 

Meridith Thoms Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be in an ABET-accredited engineering program, engineering at SWE-approved colleges and universities, or computer science in a CSAB-accredited program or at an ABET-accredited or SWE-approved institution.

 

Bechtel Corporation Scholarship

Award: $3,050, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must have be a woman, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and be an SWE member. Applicant must be in an ABET-accredited engineering program, engineering at SWE-approved colleges and universities, or computer science in a CSAB-accredited program or at an ABET-accredited or SWE-approved institution.

 

Ruth E. Black Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 5

Applicant must be at least a part-time student, and be a resident of Hawaii. . Selection is based upon a minimum 3.0 GPA, and financial need. Preference is given to children of those in construction related fields: architecture and engineering.

 

Patricia Collins Amaral Memorial Fund

Award: $600, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a senior who has a minimum 3.0 GPA and who has demonstrated the finest qualities of leadership through participation in campus organizations and has rendered service of significant benefit to the campus community.

 

Alumni Association Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must demonstrate community leadership and have met the award criteria established by the Alumni Association's Scholarship Committee. Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31. Applicants who have transferred from Massachusetts Community Colleges, Dean College, or Quincy College are eligible to apply.

Selection is based upon GPA and AGC Club participation.

 

The MOLES Award

Ronald and Karel Bennett Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduate of a Jackson County high school who will be enrolling at a public or nonprofit college or university as a sophomore or above with a major in accounting, architecture, business or engineering. FAFSA and minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Southern Oregon Chapter of the American Institute of Architects Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduate of a Curry, Harney, Jackson, Josephine, Klamath, Lake, or Malheur County high school who will major in architecture at a four-year public or nonprofit college or university. FAFSA required.

 

Richard H. Crosser Memorial Scholarship

Award: $600, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior from Lebanon High School who will pursue a post secondary education in a building trade (structural engineering, drafting, real estate). Preference given to Beazer residents.

 

Steve Utt Scholarship

Award: $265, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a Hancock County high school who will pursue a two- or four-year degree in architecture, building trades, drafting, structural engineering, or another building trade-related field at a college or university in Indiana.

 

Richard H. Crosser Memorial Scholarship

Award: $313, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Mt. Vernon High School who will attend a college or university in Indiana in pursuit of a two- or four-year degree in accounting, architecture, building trades, business, drafting, finance, real estate or structural engineering. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

Richard H. Crosser Memorial Scholarship Fund

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Whiteland or Franklin High School who will attend a two- or four-year college or university in Indiana in pursuit of a degree in accounting, architectural engineering, architecture, business, drafting, finance, Industrial arts education, management, mechanical engineering, real estate sales or another field related to the building trades industry. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

Jonathan Family Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: April 13

Applicant must be a Laytonville High School senior who plans to attend a vocational school, community college, or four-year college/university. Selection based upon financial need; their qualities of diligence, perseverance, and selflessness; and desire to pursue studies in music, art, architecture, building construction and/or design.

 

Tim Sardelich Memorial Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: April 23

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a high school in Sacaremento, El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Sutter, Yolo, or Yuba counties who is pursuing an architecture or civil engineering degree at an accredited college or university. Minimum 3.0 GPA required. Financial need must be demonstrated; extracurricular and community activities will also be considered.

 

Odebrecht Award for Sustainable Development

Award: $65,000, Deadline: May 31

Applicant must be an undergraduate student in an engineering, architecture, building/construction management, or chemistry field. Applicant must submit a paper that outlines contributions to sustainability.

 

John M. and Mary A. Shanley Memorial Scholarship

Award: $20,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a Charlotte, Hendry or Lee County, FL high school who will pursue a degree in accounting, agriculture, architecture, computer science, dentistry, education, engineering, law, medicine, or ministry. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Eastern Shore Building Industry Association Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Maryland who will pursue post-secondary education in architecture, engineering or a construction-related study.

 

The Legacy Scholarship Fund of Ernst Gottlieb Braun

Award: $1,500, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a resident of Fayette County, PA who will attend a post-secondary institution in the European Union majoring in architecture, art, foreign language or history. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

SAME Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: March 18

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior or current undergraduate student who is pursuing (or intending to pursue) a degree in an engineering field or related technical sciences, including architecture, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or earth sciences.

 

Tenshon Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: July 15; December 15

Applicant must be a currently enrolled student who is interested in the field of architecture, design, and/or engineering. A unique shade sail structure design using Google Sketchup must be created in order to apply. Selection based upon creativity, build-ability, practicality, and location.

 

Christopher N. Coppola Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a Palm Beach, FL high school who will major in architecture, construction, real estate, urban analysis or a similar field. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

AACE International Scholarships

Award: $8,000, Deadline: February 7

Applicant must be a full-time student enrolled in a program related to cost engineering/cost management (agricultural engineering, architectural engineering, building construction, business administration, chemical engineering, civil engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, mining engineering, electrical engineering, and quantity surveying). Applicant must be in their final undergraduate year and have been accepted to attend a full-time graduate program in the next academic year. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.
