Science Achievement Scholarship

Selection based upon academic performance and major in science.

 

Transfer Science Scholarship

Award: $3,500, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a transfer student who possesses an associate's degree and who are majoring in a science field.

 

Riverside Construction Company Harmon/Lounsbury Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 2

Applicant must be a high school senior who is planning to attend a college or university as a full-time student and major in engineering (priority will be given to construction or civil engineering). Minimum 3.0 GPA, financial need, and community/school involvement must be demonstrated.

 

The Riverside Construction Company Harmon/Lounsbury Scholarship Fund (First-Year College Students)

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 2

Applicant must be a first-year college student enrolled at California Polytechnic University - Pomona, California Polytechnic University - San Luis Obispo, California State University - Long Beach, or California Baptist University. Applicant must be majoring in engineering; priority will be given to construction or civil engineering majors. Minimum 3.0 GPA, financial need, and community/school involvement are required to be demonstrated.

 

Warren 'Ed' Brown Scholarship Fund

Award: $4,000, Deadline: April 13

Applicant must be a Ukiah High School senior who would like to pursue a career in mathematics or engineering. Minimum 3.5 and financial need are required.

 

Sidney and Katherine Friend Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: None

Applicant must be a first-year student at Polytechnic University who is majoring in engineering. Minimum 2.8 GPA required.

 

Richard Heckert Fellow

Award: $5,000, Deadline: None

Applicant must be a student who is majoring in an engineering discipline. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

William Randolph Hearst Endowment Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: None

Applicant must be a first- or second-year student who is majoring in an engineering discipline. Minimum 2.8 GPA required.

 

SAME Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: March 18

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior or current undergraduate student who is pursuing (or intending to pursue) a degree in an engineering field or related technical sciences, including architecture, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or earth sciences.

 

Generation Google Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a student from an underrepresented group (African American, Hispanic, American Indian, Female). Must intend to or be currently enrolled full-time at a university majoring in computer engineering, computer science, software engineering, or a related program. Must demonstrate leadership and commitment to computer science and technology through involvement with the community. Resume, transcripts, four essay responses, and two letters of reference required.

 

Google SVA Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: January 27

Applicant must be a currently enrolled full-time veteran or active duty undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in computer engineering or computer science. Resume, copy of current transcripts, two letters of reference, three essays, and DD 214 or Active Duty orders and Memorandum of Understanding from commanding officer required.

 

Recycling Research Foundation's National Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: June 1

Applicants must be pursuing a graduate level degree, be a U.S. citizen and have a minimum 2.5 GPA. The program is open to those seeking a graduate degree in a program that supports the scrap processing and recycling industry as a whole. The industry itself is both labor and mechanically intensive as scrap processors take old and new metals, paper, rubber, plastic, glass and more, and sort it into established grades which are highly sought after by manufacturers. The challenges of recycling on the scale of 200 billion pounds a year has given rise to new and innovative technologies as the recycling industry adapts to an ever changing marketplace of goods.
