Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident for at least three years at the time of application.

 

Betty Lane Family and Consumer Sciences Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be an incoming freshman student with a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1200 (minimum composite ACT score of 27) who is majoring in education, family and consumer sciences, fashion merchandising and apparel design, hotel and restaurant management, interior design, or nutrition and food science/dietetics.

 

Douglas Haskell Award

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 23

Applicants must submit article, essay, or journal that has been or will soon be published.

 

Alfred T. Granger Student Art Fund Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a Vermont resident pursuing a degree in architectural engineering, architecture, interior design, lighting design, mechanical drawing, or studio art at an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Academic achievement and financial need must be demonstrated.

 

John and Ruth Maciag Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a resident of Rutland County, VT who will pursue education or training in architecture, architectural engineering, computer graphics and animation, fine arts, interior design, studio art, or a related field. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Deborah Snyder Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 25

Applicant must be a high school senior in Palm Beach County, FL who wishes to pursue a collegiate course of study in architectural design, interior design, or landscape design.

 

Creative Arts Award

Award: $1,800, Deadline: October 31

Selection is based upon academic and artistic performance.

 

Regents Professional Opportunity Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: May 31

Applicant must be beginning or already enrolled in an approved degree-bearing program of study in New York State that leads to licensure in a particular profession. Purpose of award is to increase representation of minority and disadvantaged individuals in New York State licensed professions.

 

Shelby Williams Fund for Excellence in Human Ecology

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 15

Preference is given to applicant who attended high school in the greater Morristown area.

 

AWA Scholarship Awards

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 16

Applicant must be a California resident attending an accredited school in California who has completed at least 18 units in their major in a program granting a degree or certificate. Selection is based solely upon merit.

 

Allan Lucas Memorial Educational Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a full-time student who plans to pursue lighting education or research as apart of their undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral studies. Applicant must be a junior, senior, or graduate student in an accredited four-year college or university located in Northern California.

 

Barbara A. and John M. Cirino Scholarship

Mabelle Wilhelmina Boldt Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: April 30

Applicant must be enrolled at a degree-granting institution and have been a practicing designer for at least five years prior to graduate school. Preference given to applicants with a focus on design research. Selection is based upon academic/creative accomplishment, as demonstrated by school transcripts and letter of recommendation.

 

Joel Polsky Academic Achievement Award

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 30

Award is to recognize outstanding undergraduate or graduate interior design research or thesis project. Research paper or thesis should address such interior design topics as education research, behavioral science, business practice, design process, theory, or other technical subjects. Selection is based upon actual content, breadth of material, comprehensive coverage of topic, innovative subject matter, and bibliography and references.

 

Joel Polsky Prize

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 30

Award recognizes outstanding academic contributions to interior design through literature or visual communication. Entries should address the needs of the public, designers, and students on such topics as educational research, behavioral science, business practice, design process, theory, or other technical subjects. Selection is based upon innovative subject matter, comprehensive coverage of topic, organization, graphic presentation, bibliography, and references.

 

Hunter Douglas Scholarship

Award: $2,200, Deadline: March 2

Applicant must be a Colorado resident with a proven academic performance and professional potential. Applicant must submit an application, autobiographical sketch or resume, cover letter detail educational and professional foci, and portfolio.

 

Baird Society Resident Scholar

Award: -, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be in residence at the Smithsonian during the award period. The focus of the applicant's project must center around Special Collections, which are located in Washington, D.C., and New York City.

 

Polaire Weissman Fund

Award: $20,000, Deadline: November 3

Applicant needs to present a typed application, full resume, statement (not to exceed 1,000 words), and three letters of recommendation.

 

Sherman Fairchild Foundation Conservation Fellowship

Award: $22,500, Deadline: December 2

Applicant must be a qualified candidate from the United States and abroad who have already reached an advanced level of training or experience.

 

Hank Stembridge Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 30

Awarded to a full-time interior design student based on a mandatory portfolio review. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA within major and a 2.0 GPA overall and have successfully completed INDS 210 Interior Design Studio II.

 

Mason-Conners Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 30

Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student majoring in interior design with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Patricia Collins Amaral Memorial Fund

Award: $600, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a senior who has a minimum 3.0 GPA and who has demonstrated the finest qualities of leadership through participation in campus organizations and has rendered service of significant benefit to the campus community.

 

Alumni Association Scholarship

Applicant must demonstrate community leadership and have met the award criteria established by the Alumni Association's Scholarship Committee. Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31. Applicants who have transferred from Massachusetts Community Colleges, Dean College, or Quincy College are eligible to apply.

 

Sandra Graham Shelton Scholarship in Interior Design

Applicant must be an incoming freshman student who plans to major in interior design. Interview and creative work are required.

 

Student Member Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a full-time, current student member of IFDA who has completed a minimum of four design courses in a post-secondary interior design or related program. Additional letter of recommendation from an IFDA Professional Member is required.

 

Vercille Voss Graduate Student Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be enrolled as a graduate student at an accredited university who is majoring in interior design or related design/furnishings program.

 

Ruth Clark Furniture Design Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a currently enrolled post-secondary student whose emphasis is on residential furniture design.

 

Green/Sustainable Design Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be focusing on the evolving green/sustainable field of study and be planing to become an educated participant in the green movement. Applicant should demonstrate creative use of green products and eco-friendly furnishings in class projects and has a goal of seeking a future LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accreditation.

 

Robert W. Thunen Memorial Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student (junior or senior) at an accredited four-year college or university who would like to study illumination as a career; graduate applicants must be undertaking a lighting-centered project as part of work towards a graduate degree. Statement of Purpose and minimum of three letters of recommendation are required to be submitted.

 

Natalie A. W. Leaf Fund Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: June 30

Applicant must be at least 18 years old, demonstrate financial need, and reside in Chester County. Must have an interest in arts, crafts, and trades.
