Irving W. Cook, WA0CGS Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must have an amateur radio license. Preference is given to Kansas residents.

 

Dr. James L. Lawson Memorial Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must have a general class amateur radio license and be attending school in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, or Vermont. Preference is given to residents of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont who are majoring in communications, electronics, and related fields.

 

Mississippi Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be under 30 years of age, have an amateur radio license, and be studying in Mississippi. Preference is given to Mississippi residents.

 

Fred R. McDaniel Memorial Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must have at least a general class amateur radio license and be attending school in the FCC Fifth Call District (Arkansas, Louisiana, Michigan, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas). Preference is given to residents of Arkansas, Louisiana, Michigan, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas who have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

 

HPRA Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: June 5

Applicant must be an outstanding undergraduate Hispanic student who is pursuing a career in public relations and related communications fields.

 

Albert M. Becker Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: June 1

Applicant must be the child of a member of the New York American Legion or Auxiliary, a member of American Legion Auxiliary Juniors, or a graduate of Boys State or Girls State. Applicant must be entering or attending an accredited four-year college.

 

Communications Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 1

 

Frank Wright Scholarship

Award: $1,875, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and demonstrate financial need.

 

Research Grant

Award: $5,000, Deadline: January 28

Proposals dealing with issues currently confronting the U.S. commercial broadcast industry are required. The intent of this program is to stimulate interest in broadcast research, especially research on economic, social, or policy issues of importance to the broadcast industry.

 

AWC Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a Washington resident attending a Washington four-year school. Selection is based upon financial need and academic achievement.

 

Communications Radio/TV Scholarship

Award: $100, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must have a minimum 2.0 GPA. Two letters of recommendation required.

Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student who is a United States citizen or permanent resident (preferably) of Polish heritage.

 

John D. Graham Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: May 9

Applicant must be enrolled in a journalism program, public relations studies or courses preparing for a career in public relations, and entering their senior year of undergraduate studies in the fall.

 

West Virginia Broadcasters Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be West Virginia resident and an employee or family member of an employee of a station that is a member of the West Virginia Broadcasters Association. First priority given to applicants in the broadcast field; second to applicants who demonstrate financial need. GPA and any unusual circumstances are also considered.

 

Hope (General) Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a Maryland resident, apply as a high school senior, have and maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA, enroll in an eligible program at a Maryland college or university, and have a combined annual family income of less than $95,000.

 

Dean's Talent Scholarship

Award: $11,500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a full-time student who ranks in the top quarter of their high school class and has a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score between 1580 and 1790. An audition or portfolio is required.

 

Provost Talent Scholarship

Award: $14,500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a full-time student who ranks in top 15% of class and has a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1800. An audition or portfolio is required.

 

Martin J. Svaglic Award

Award: $2,500, Deadline: February 25

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1180 (composite ACT score of 26). Applicant must be admitted to Loyola prior to February 25.

 

IDEA Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must have at least a technician class amateur radio license and be a graduate of an Indiana high school attending an accredited Indiana college or university.

 

Joshua Esch Mitchell Aviation Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 1

Selection is based upon academic achievement, extracurricular activities, financial need, personal statement, and one letter of recommendation from an aviation professional.

 

Communication Scholarship

Presidential Talent Scholarship

Applicant must be a full-time student who ranks in the top tenth of their class and has a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1950. An audition or portfolio are required.

 

J. Edward McEvoy Scholarship

Award: $1,240, Deadline: February 13

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and a departmental 3.25 GPA. Statement of personal and professional goals and three references required.

 

Forensics Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must plan to compete in intercollegiate speech and debate events.

 

RDW Group, Inc. Minority Scholarship For Communications

Award: $2,000, Deadline: April 21

Applicant must be a Rhode Island resident.

 

Judith L. Weidman Racial Ethnic Minority Fellowship

Award: $30,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a United Methodist of racial ethnic minority heritage and must be a recent college or seminary graduate who has broad communications training, including an understanding of effective public relations. Applicant must consider pursuing communications for The United Methodist Church as a career. Fluency in English and ability to relocate for one year are required. Fellowship offers a mentoring experience intended to prepare the recipient for a communications career in an Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church in the United States.

 

Patricia Collins Amaral Memorial Fund

Award: $600, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a senior who has a minimum 3.0 GPA and who has demonstrated the finest qualities of leadership through participation in campus organizations and has rendered service of significant benefit to the campus community.
