Applicant must be enrolled full time in an accredited engineering school and demonstrate interest in an engineering career in the vertical flight industry. Official transcript and academic endorsement from a professor are required to be submitted. Applications may be submitted in undergraduate, graduate, or Ph.D. categories in which the award may only be received once in each category by an individual.

Applicant must possess a doctorate degree in history or in a closely related field, or be enrolled as a student (having completed all coursework) in a doctoral degree-granting program.The fellowship term is for a period of at least six months, but not more than nine months, and should commence no later than November 15. Recipient will be expected to devote the term entirely to the proposed research project.

Application coversheet, biographical statement, current resume or CV (list your education and employment history), UIC transcript, proof of financial aid eligibility, proof of U.S. citizenship (copy of birth certificate or passport), and two letters of recommendation (include at least one from a UIC instructor) required.
