Cancer for College Scholarship

Applicant must be a cancer patient/cancer survivor who is a U.S. resident enrolled in an accredited university or community college. Recipient must be willing to attend regional events associated with the scholarship awarded and available for selected interviews and/or media coverage.

 

Community Service Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: October 26

Applicant must be a high school senior who resides in one of the following counties: San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Benito, Merced, Stanislaus, Alameda, San Joaquin, Contra Costa, Solano, Yolo, Napa, Sonoma, Santa Clara, or Marin. Demonstration of community service and financial need are required.

 

CCAR Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: April 30

Applicant must have completed one year of full-time college study who has completed courses that reflect an emphasis on real estate, finance, and/or business. Applicant must be a resident of central Contra Costa County only in the communities of Alamo, Blackhawk, Clayton, Clyde, Concord, Danville, Diablo, Lafayette, Martinez, Moraga/Canyon, Orinda, Pacheco, Pleasant Hill, Rossmoor, San Ramon and Walnut Creek. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

New American Scholars Program

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 13

Applicant must be foreign born who does not have permanent residency or citizenship in the United States who has lived in California for two or more years of their high school careers. Applicant must be currently enrolled or intending to enroll in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program. One of the following is required: (1) previous or intended graduation from a San Francisco Bay Area high school, or (2) current or expected enrollment in a San Francisco Bay Area college or university. Minimum 3.3 GPA required of high school applicants; 3.0 GPA required of undergraduate/graduate applicants.

 

Mineral and Gem Society Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a graduate of an El Dorado county high school who is attending a college or graduate school outside of the county. Applicant must be pursuing a degree and/or career in earth sciences, lapidary arts, or other related fields at an accredited college or university. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Honey Lake Hospice Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must have successfully completed their first semester of college with a minimum 2.5 GPA and will be continuing their education in the field of nursing, medicine, or related health care field at an accredited two- or four-year college or university. The applicant should have an interest in gerontology, oncology and/or hospice and palliative care and be able to express that interest in an essay.

 

Iranian-American Scholarship

Applicant must be of Iranian heritage who is a United States citizen or legal permanent resident enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in a degree-seeking program at an accredited institution in the U.S. Minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA, financial need, and demonstration of commitment to community service required.

 

Marvin Anmuth Scholarship Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: November 1

Applicant must be a Jewish undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree program in electrical engineering at an accredited college, university, or graduate school. Applicant must be from the San Francisco Bay Area. Minimum 3.0 GPA, financial need, demonstration of leadership in the Jewish/general community, and evidence of practicing tzedakah (justice) and tikkun olam (repairing the world - volunteerism).

 

Nathan Jay Friedman College Scholarship Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: November 1

Applicant must be a Jewish undergraduate student who has been accepted to or is attending an accredited undergraduate college or university program. Applicant's parents must be permanent residents of San Francisco, the Peninsula (Sunnyvale and north), Marin, Sonoma, or Alameda Counties. Outstanding academic record and financial need required.

 

Elaine and Barry Gilbert College Scholarship Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: November 1

Applicant must be a Jewish high school senior who will attend a University of California campus. Applicant's parents must be permanent residents of San Francisco, the Peninsula (Sunnyvale and north), Marin, or Sonoma County. Minimum 3.5 GPA, financial need, and demonstrated Jewish involvement required. Preference given to graduates of San Francisco's Lowell or Washington High School.

 

Stephanie G. Hoffman Scholarship Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: November 1

Applicant must be a Jewish undergraduate or graduate student who has been accepted to or is attending an accredited college or university program and is majoring in library science, English literature, or related field with the intention of working with underserved children to excite them through reading to pursue higher education. Applicant's parents must be permanent residents of the greater San Francisco Bay Area.

Applicant must be a Jewish undergraduate student at a four-year accredited college or university. Anne Rudin Scholarship

Providian Medical Scholarship

Applicant must be a high school senior or current college student at a U.S.-based institution. Minimum 3.0 GPA and essay on how medical equipment technology has changed the face of a college course and curriculum required.

 

SAME Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior or current undergraduate student who is pursuing (or intending to pursue) a degree in an engineering field or related technical sciences, including architecture, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or earth sciences.

 

College Essay Contest

Applicant must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university in the United States. Essay on the following topic required: What is your chosen major and why did you choose it? Name some reasons why your major is important to you and detail some of the things which have led you towards this path. Bonus if you can a select a book that has had a significant impact in helping you make your decision.

Applicant must be a currently enrolled student who is interested in the field of architecture, design, and/or engineering. A unique shade sail structure design using Google Sketchup must be created in order to apply. Selection based upon creativity, build-ability, practicality, and location.

Applicant must be a college junior or senior or graduate student who is majoring in enology, entomology, viticulture, or wine marketing at California universities or a California college student pursing an A.S. degree in any of the above-mentioned subjects.

 

AAF Fort Wayne Scholarship

Applicant must be a full-time college student registered in an advertising or marketing related field: advertising, marketing, public relations, communications, commercial art, media techniques, video production, telecommunications, or web design. Applicant must be from or attending a school in one of the following Indiana counties: Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, or Whitley.

 

Marketing EDGE Scholarship Awards

Applicant must be a United States citizen or permanent resident who is an undergraduate or graduate student studying marketing at an accredited four-year institution. Minimum 3.0 GPA, a minimum of two college-level marketing courses completed, and a commitment to pursuing a career in marketing are required.

 

Believe and Achieve Scholarship Program

Applicant must be a high school senior or GED recipient who plans to enroll as a full-time undergraduate at a two- or four-year college or university or vocational-technical school. Minimum 3.0 GPA and residence within a 30-mile radius of a Cumberland Farms retail location required. Applicants must demonstrate financial need.

 

Founding Class Scholarship

Award: $18,000, Deadline: December 31

Awarded to students accepted as members of the Founding Class at the Minerva Schools at KGI. The Minerva Schools at KGI is a new top-tier university experience designed to be more global, rigorous, and accessible. Minerva students will spend Freshman year in San Francisco with subsequent semesters in Minerva dorms in global hubs like Rio, Hong Kong, Mumbai, London, etc. All classes will be discussion based (15-20 students max) and taken electronically via live video conferencing.
