Applicant must be the dependent child or unremarried spouse of a Florida veteran who died as a result of service-connected injuries, diseases, or disabilities sustained while on active duty or who have been certified by the Florida Department of Veterans Affairs as having service-connected 100% permanent and total disabilities. The veteran must be a United States citizen or eligible non-citizen who was a Florida resident for one year immediately preceding time of death and who died as a result of a service-connected disability sustained while on active duty. Veteran may also have been classified as a P.O.W. or M.I.A. by the Armed Forces of the United States or as a civilian personnel captured while servicing with the consent or authorization of the United States government during wartime service. The child or spouse must be a Florida resident and a United States citizen or eligible non-citizen who is enrolled in an undergraduate degree or certificate program for a minimum of six credit hours, 180 clock hours, or the equivalent at a post-secondary institution. Applicant must be a graduating high school senior from any high school in the Oregon or Clark County, Washington area who is looking to enroll in a major directly related to the Information Technology industry (i.e. CS, CIS) at any accredited institution in the states of Oregon or Washington. Selection is based upon academic performance, information technology-related career goals, counselor/instructor recommendations, financial need, previous experience/interest in information technology, and completeness, neatness, and presentation of application.

Applicant must be a junior or senior business major enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States; or a graduate student enrolled or accepted to a master's or doctoral program within a Business school at an accredited college or university in the United States (applicant may apply during their sophomore year). Applicant must currently be a full-time student in good academic standing and making satisfactory progress toward an undergraduate or graduate degree. Financial need is not required. Members of the National NAACP Board of Directors, SCF Trustees, National Youth Work Committe, the NAACP Scholarship Selection Committee, employees and their spouses or families to the first degree of consanguinity are not eligible to apply for or receive this scholarship. Three letters of recommendation (other than relatives): one personal reference, two academic references from the business school of the accredited college (academic letters must be on official letterhead); recent official college transcript, evidence of full-time enrollment, and one page essay required.
