Trustee Scholarship for Transfer Students

Award: $2,000, Deadline: December 1 (spring semester); May 1 (fall semester)

Applicant must have in-state residency status with a minimum 3.5 GPA and at least 42 transferable credits.

 

Alice Irene Gardner Schulze and Irene M. Schulze Wilcox Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Selection is based upon academics and GPA. Preference is given to residents of Durham Township, Hancock County, IL.

 

George and Lucille Pittard Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be an incoming freshman student who ranked in the top quarter of their high school class with a minimum composite ACT score of 25. Preference granted to graduates of Alexis High School or Mercy County.

 

Frank W. Banks Four-Year Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduate of a McDonough County, IL, high school or of a high school in an adjacent county. Rank in top 15% of secondary school class and financial need are required. Evidence of academic performance, extra-curricular activities, employment history, and community service will be considered.

 

Leon L. and Marion B. Lamet Four-Year Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be an incoming freshman student with a minimum composite ACT score of 25 and financial need. First preference will be given to high school graduates and residents of Hancock County, IL; second preference given to high school graduates and residents in counties bordering Hancock County.

 

Adam S. Burford Fund Grant

Award: $800, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must attend West Virginia University and demonstrate financial need and moral character. Minimum 2.5 GPA and 20 ACT. Preference is given to members of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity.

 

C. Raymond & Delsia R. Collins Fund Grant

Award: $1,000, Deadline: Jan 15

Applicant must demonstrate academic excellence. Minimum 2.5 GPA and minimum composite ACT score of 20 required.

 

Deputy William G. Giacomo Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be the child or grandchild of a law enforcement officer who works or has worked in Nicholas County, W.Va., and must be a graduate of Nicholas High School or Richwood High School. Letter of recommendation, personal essay, and transcripts required. Preference is given to applicants studying law enforcement.

 

Leopold and Elizabeth Marmet Grant

Applicant must be an undergraduate or graduate student studying natural resources, production/conservation of energy, or science. Minimum 2.5 GPA and minimum composite ACT score of 20 required.

 

Michael W. McDaniel Grant

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a resident or graduate of Fayette County, WV. Minimum 2.5 GPA and minimum composite ACT score of 20 required.

 

Coleman Murphy, Jr. Memorial Grant

Award: $550, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior of Nicholas County High School with plans to attend a college or university in West Virginia. Minimum 2.5 GPA and composite ACT score of 20 required.

 

Paul & Grace Rhudy Grant

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a West Virginia resident who is able to demonstrate academic excellence. Minimum 2.5 GPA and composite ACT score of 20 required.

 

Physician Education Loan Repayment Parts I and II (For Post-Residency Practicing Physicians)

Award: $9,000, Deadline: August 1

Applicant must be a physician practicing in an approved specialty, in an approved practice site.

 

Toward Excellence, Access, & Success (TEXAS) Grant II

Award: -, Deadline: October 1

Applicant must be a Texas resident with financial need who is enrolled at least half-time in an associates degree or certificate program at Texas public community, technical, or state college, and who has never been convicted of a felony or of a crime involving a controlled substance. To qualify, applicant's EFC cannot exceed $2,000.

 

Singerman Nosseck Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a resident of the Greater Los Angeles Area and be enrolling or enrolled in a trade school that leads to certification. Selection is based upon ability to articulate goals, potential to reach goals, personal commitment and financial need.

 

June Miller Nursing Education Scholarship

Applicant must be a resident of the Greater Los Angeles Area who is committed to pursuing a career in nursing. Selection is based upon academic ability, ability to state goals, potential to reach goals, personal commitment, and financial need.

 

Inger Lawrence-M.R. Bauer Foundation Advanced Nursing Studies Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a resident of the Greater Los Angeles Area who is committed to continuing the academic pursuit of a degree in nursing. Selection is based upon the applicant's potential to achieve goals, personal courage, and financial need.

 

Sol Goldberg Childcare Subsidy

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a woman who is a resident of the Greater Los Angeles Area. Applicant must be entering or continuing a program to learn a marketable skill which will lead to economic self-sufficiency. Award is to pay for child care.

 

Sylvia & Samuel Schulman Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a single mother entering or continuing school in an accredited institution in order to learn a marketable skill, which will lead to economic independence.

 

Sophie Greenstadt Scholarship for Mid-Life Women

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a woman over age 35 who is a resident of the Greater Los Angeles Area. Applicant must be entering or continuing a program to learn a marketable skill which will lead to economic self-sufficiency. Selection is based upon ability to articulate goals, potential to achieve goals, and the applicant's personal courage.

 

Susan Schulman Begley Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a woman who is a resident of the Greater Los Angeles area. Applicant must be establishing herself as a single-parent head of household and does not have adequate financial funds for immediate needs due to extreme circumstances following the dissolution of an abusive or emotionally traumatic relationship.

 

InterAmerican Music Awards (IAMA)

Award: $2,500, Deadline: September 1

Applicant must be a composer from North, Central, or South America and must submit a composition. Winning composition will be premiered at the national convention, and published by C.F. Peters Corp.

 

National Scholarship Programs

Award: $20,000, Deadline: October 25

Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time high school senior in the United States who is progressing normally toward graduation in the upcoming spring/summer and plans to enter a college in the United States no later than the fall following graduation. Applicant must demonstrate critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income), involvement in co-curricular/community service activities, and minimum 2.0 GPA required.
