Tortoise Young Entrepreneurs Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: February 28

Applicant must be a resident of Kansas or Missouri who plans to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study towards a bachelor's degree or be a non-resident of either state who plans to enroll as a full-time student in a four-year bachelor's program at a Kansas or Missouri accredited university or college. Minimum 3.3 GPA and minimum SAT Reasoning score (including writing) of 1680 (or ACT score of 24) required Superscoring is allowed. Selection based upon demonstrated entrepreneurial success/accomplishments, academic record, extracurricular activity, and anticipated future potential.

 

AfterCollege/AACN Student Scholarship Fund

Award: $2,500, Deadline: March 31; June 30; September 30; December 31

Applicant must be currently seeking a bachelors, masters, or doctorate degree as a full-time student at an AACN member institution in the field of nursing. Special consideration will be given to students in a graduate program with the goal of becoming a nurse educator; students completing an R.N.-to-B.S.N or R.N.-to-M.S.N. program; and those enrolled in an accelerated program. Minimum 3.0 GPA, online application, and brief essay (250 word maximum) on goals and aspirations as they relate to education, career, and future plans required.

 

University Journalism Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be enrolled as a sophomore, junior, or senior at an Ohio college or university. Applicant must be majoring in a field relevant to the newspaper industry, particularly journalism, advertising, marketing, or a communications degree program. Minimum 2.5 GPA and college transcript required.

 

ONWA Annual Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 31

Applicant can be male or female and must be enrolled as a junior or senior at an Ohio college or university. Applicant must be majoring in a field relevant to the newspaper industry, particularly journalism, advertising, marketing, or a communications degree program. Minimum 2.5 GPA.

 

Minority Journalism Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a graduating senior at an Ohio high school who will be a freshman at an Ohio college or university. Applicant must be African-American, Hispanic, Asian American, or American Indian who plans to major in a field relevant to the newspaper industry, particularly journalism, advertising, marketing, or a communications degree program. Minimum 2.5 GPA and high school transcript required.

 

Goodman Scholarship Fund Program

Award: $5,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a member of the Order of the Arrow who is preparing for a professional Scouting career and will attend an accredited post-secondary institution.

 

Charles R. Walgreen, Jr. Leadership Award

Award: $1,850, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be an active member of Tau Kappa Epsilon who demonstrates outstanding leadership. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Christopher Grasso Scholarship

Award: $225, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be an active member of Tau Kappa Epsilon who has demonstrated exceptional leadership. Minimum 2.5 GPA required. Preference given to members of the Alpha-Tau Chapter.

 

Dwayne R. Woerpel Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be an active member of Tau Kappa Epsilon who has demonstrated outstanding leadership. Minimum 3.0 GPA required. Preference given to a graduate of the TKE Leadership Academy.

 

Eric D. Dunning Scholarship

Applicant must be an active member of Tau Kappa Epsilon pursuing a degree in computer science, engineering, or science. Minimum 2.75 GPA required.

 

Father Timothy Vakoc Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be an active member of Tau Kappa Epsilon who is a full-time student. Preference given to members of the Theta-Rho Chapter.

 

International Exchange Scholarship

Applicant must be an active member of Tau Kappa Epsilon interested in building international understanding.

 

National Youth Achievement Award

Award: $1,500, Deadline: May 27

Applicant must be a descendent of a member of the Jewish War Veterans of the USA (children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren). Applicant must have been accepted by an accredited college, university, or nursing school and rank in the top quarter of their secondary school class. School and Jewish community extra-curricular activities must be demonstrated.

 

Emil S. Liston Award

Award: $1,000, Deadline: June 15

Applicant must be a junior student of an NAIA men's or women's basketball team with a minimum 3.5 GPA. Selection is based upon scholarship, character, and playing ability.

 

Freshman Presidential Scholarships

Award: $24,000, Deadline: February 1 (priority)

Selection based upon official class rank/percent and academic ability through superior test scores and class ranking. Minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1200 (composite ACT score of 27) and rank in top quarter of secondary school class required. Award amount will vary depending on test scores and class rank.

 

Proven Achievers Scholarship

Award: $13,000, Deadline: February 1 (priority)

Applicant must be a transfer student from a community college with a minimum of 60 transferable hours. Minimum 3.5 GPA required.

 

Presidential Transfer Scholarship

Award: $9,000, Deadline: February 1 (priority)

Applicant must be a transfer student from a community college with a minimum of 30 transferable semester hours. Minimum 3.0 GPA and financial need as evidenced by the FAFSA are required.

 

IMPACT Presidential Transfer Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 1 (priority)

Applicant must be a transfer student from a community college with a minimum of 30 transferable hours. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Small Business Success Student Scholarship Program

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a young entrepreneur with small business experience who is enrolling as a full-time student at an institution of higher learning. Essay on the following topic is required: "How has small business ownership (personal, parent, grandparent, or legal guardian) shaped you into the person you are today?"

 

Emily M. Hewitt Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 15

Applicant must be a student or graduate student enrolled full-time in an accredited California post-secondary educational institution whose educational goals coincide with Emily Hewitt's interest in communicating and interpreting nature's wonder. Applicants pursuing degrees in environmental protection, forestry, wildlife and fisheries, biology, parks and recreation, park management, environmental law and public policy, environmental art, and California history are encouraged to apply.

 

Sidney and Katherine Friend Scholarship

Applicant must be a first-year student at Polytechnic University who is majoring in engineering. Minimum 2.8 GPA required.

 

Richard Heckert Fellow

Award: $5,000, Deadline: None

Applicant must be a student who is majoring in an engineering discipline. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

William Randolph Hearst Endowment Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: None

Applicant must be a first- or second-year student who is majoring in an engineering discipline. Minimum 2.8 GPA required.

 

West Virginia PROMISE Scholarship

Award: $4,750, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a West Virginia resident who has completed the FAFSA in addition to the Promise Scholarship application.

 

Samuel H. Kress Grants for Research & Publication in Classical Art and Architecture

Award: $3,000, Deadline: November 1; March 1

Applicant must be a scholar preparing, completing, and/or publishing results of their research in Classical Art and Architecture. Applicants still in the research stage must have a publication contract in place with either a non-profit or commercial publisher. Research may be undertaken at domestic or international universities, libraries or study centers, or through excavation or preservation projects of Classical sites. Proposals must include a timetable for completion of the manuscript, specific plans for publication including budget information, and a description of how the grant will be utilized.

 

Music, Art, Theatre Arts Performance Scholarships

Award: $3,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be majoring in a field of music, art, or theatre arts and continue with that major for which the scholarship is awarded. Audition (music, theatre) or portfolio review (art) required.
