Non-resident Tuition Reduction and State Aid Program for Nursing

Applicant has a service obligation in Maryland after graduation, must be a resident of a state other than Maryland at the time of tuition reduction. The award pays the difference between in-state/out-state tuition.

 

Janet L. Hoffman Loan Assistance Repayment Program

Applicant must graduate from a college in Maryland or from a law school and be employed full-time in state or local government or in a nonprofit organization in Maryland. Applicant's employer must help low income, underserved residents or underserved areas in the state. Applicant must have loans from a university, government, or commercial source used to pay for college expenses. Applicant may not be in default on a loan. Gross salary cannot exceed $50,000 and, if married, combined salaries cannot exceed $110,000.

 

Loan Assistance Repayment Program in Primary Care Services

Applicant must be a Maryland resident at time of service obligation, a U.S. citizen or national, have graduated from a college in Maryland or a medical school, have a valid unrestricted license to practice primary care medicine in Maryland, at least one year remaining in a residency program in primary care if a medical resident, work as a primary care physician in Maryland for a period of two to four years, and must not be in default of education loans or have incomplete service obligations.

 

Edward T. Conroy Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must enroll at a two-year or four-year Maryland college or university, as a full-time or part-time, degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate student or attend a private career school and be the son or daughter of a member of the U.S. Armed Forces who died or was 100% disabled as a direct result of military service; a veteran who suffers, as a direct result of military service, a disability of 25 percent or greater and has exhausted or is no longer eligible for federal veterans' educational benefits; the son, daughter, or surviving spouse of a victim of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks who died as a result of the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City, the attack on the Pentagon in Virginia, or the crash of United Airlines Flight 93 in Pennsylvania; a POW/MIA of the Vietnam Conflict or his/her son or daughter; the son, daughter or surviving spouse (who has not remarried) of a state or local public safety employee or volunteer who died in the line of duty; or a state or local public safety employee or volunteer who was 100% disabled in the line of duty. The parent, veteran, POW or public safety employee or volunteer must have been a resident of Maryland at the time of death or when declared disabled or has a disability of 25 percent or greater and has exhausted or is no longer eligible for federal veteran's educational benefits.
