Charles R. Westgate Scholarship in Engineering

Selection is based upon superior academic achievement in a challenging program, the highest test scores, leadership in school, and excellent research abilities.

 

National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship

Award: $30,000, Deadline: November (first week)

Applicant must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States who is in the early stages of graduate study in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. Eligibility is limited to applicants who have completed no more than 12 months of post-baccalaureate, full-time graduate study at the time of their application. Award is for up to three years over a five year period.

 

Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Program

Award: $7,500, Deadline: January 27

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or resident alien who has a minimum "B" grade average and ranks in top quarter of class. Selection is based upon merit, outstanding potential, and intent to pursue career in mathematics, natural sciences, or engineering. Letter of intent to obtain U.S. citizenship is required to be submitted.

 

MESBEC Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 15 (fall); September 15 (spring); March 15 (summer)

Applicant must be at least one-quarter Native American and be an enrolled member of a U.S. tribe that is federally recognized, state-recognized, or terminated, with high GPA and test scores and be enrolled in an accredited college or university.

 

National Defense Science and Engineering Fellowship

Award: $31,500, Deadline: January 4

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or national intending to pursue doctoral study in aeronautical and astronautical engineering, biosciences, chemistry, cognitive, neural, and behavioral sciences, computer science, electrical engineering, geosciences, materials science and engineering, mechanical engineering, naval architecture and ocean engineering, oceanography, physics, or civil engineering.

 

College Scholarship Competition

Award: $5,000, Deadline: December 1

 

Gulfstream Scholars Program

Award: $1,500, Deadline: November 9; February 1

Applicant must be a student pursuing an engineering degree from Georgia Tech through the Georgia Tech Regional Engineering Program (GTREP) or the Regents Engineering Transfer Program (RETP). Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1200 (minimum composite ACT score of 27), and a minimum SAT Math score of 560.

 

Scarlett Family Foundation Scholarship

Award: $15,000, Deadline: December 15

Applicant must be a high school senior or college freshman, sophomore, or junior who will graduate or have graduated from high school in Middle Tennessee and will be enrolling in a four-year not-for-profit college or university. Applicant must be a business major or STEM major and be able to demonstrate financial need. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

Student Loan Program for Health, Science, & Mathematics

Award: $8,500, Deadline: February

Applicant must be a resident of North Carolina and demonstrate financial need.

 

HENAAC Scholars Program

Award: $10,000, Deadline: April 30

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student who is of Hispanic descent or has demonstrated significant leadership and community service within the Hispanic community. Applicant must plan to attend or is currently attending a two- or four-year college or university in the United States or Puerto Rico pursuing a degree in science, technology, or math (health and medical fields are not eligible). Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Fannie and John Hertz Foundation Fellowship

Award: $40,000, Deadline: November 1

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen with a minimum "A-" grade average during the last two years of undergraduate work pursuing a graduate degree in the applied physical sciences (no biological sciences). Students in joint professional degree programs (e.g., M.D./Ph.D.) are not eligible.

 

Engineering Excellence Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be an engineering student. Minimum composite ACT score of 30 (combined SAT Reasoning score of 1320) required.

 

Tau Beta Pi Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a member of Tau Beta Pi, the Engineering Society who is enrolled as a full-time undergraduate collegiate student for the next academic year. Applicant may only be able to apply if their initiation is reported to Headquarters by June 1. Recipient will be expected to advance the interest of the engineering profession.

 

National Physical Science Consortium Graduate Fellowship

Award: $20,000, Deadline: November 30

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen who is eligible to pursue graduate study at a participating NPSC-member university. Minimum 3.0 GPA, application, transcripts, GRE general exam scores, and three to five letters of recommendation required.

 

Student Grant Program

Award: $2,000, Deadline: None

Applicant must be attending a UNISEX conference and currently performing research relating to the conference topic. Application with supporting statement is required.

 

MAES Scholarships

Award: $3,000, Deadline: October 6

Applicant must be a member of MAES.

 

Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a woman. Selection is based upon research or other relevant experience, academic ability, and extracurricular activities.

 

Wisconsin Society of Professional Engineers Chapter Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: December 10

Applicant must be a graduate of a Wisconsin high school.

 

Engineers Foundation of Wisconsin Behling College Freshman Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: December 10

Applicant must be a graduate of a Wisconsin high school.

 

Tau Beta Pi Fellowship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a member of the Tau Beta Pi, the Engineering Honor Society, who is pursuing full-time graduate study in a field that contributes to the profession of engineering.

 

A.T. Anderson Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: June 15

Applicant must be an enrolled member of a tribe with proof of tribal enrollment or certificate of Indian Blood, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, be a full-time student, be a member of the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (membership information is included with the application), and submit transcript, essay, and letters of recommendation and resume.

 

SPE Foundation Scholarship

Award: $7,500, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must plan a career in the plastics industry. Financial need must be demonstrated. Three letters of recommendation, transcript, and essay are required. One award is reserved for two applicants from specific western Pennsylvania counties; one award is reserved for an applicant of Mexican heritage who is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident; one award is reserved for an applicant from California, Oregon, Washington, or Arizona.

 

STEM Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 26

Applicant must be a citizen of the United States who is registered for at least a half-time course load or more at a TSCG member institution in good standing as: a sophomore at a two-year institution; a sophomore at a four-year institution; a junior or senior at a four-year institution; or a first or second year student at a medical school.

 

Patti Johnson Wilson Foundation Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must have a minimum 3.5 GPA, work part-time (at least 10 hours per week), and submit recommendations. Financial need is considered.

 

Postdoctoral Fellowship

Award: $55,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a recent recipient (within two or three years) of a doctoral degree and have an interest in oceanographic sciences or engineering. Transcripts, at least three recommendations, and a statement of research interests/career plans are required to be submitted. Selection is based upon applicant's research potential.

 

Selected Professions Science & Technology Fellowship

Award: $20,000, Deadline: January 10; November 15 (dissertation fellowships)

Applicant must be a woman in her final year of a master's degree program (including one-year programs) in architecture, computer/information science, engineering, and mathematics/statistics, or of a doctoral program in engineering. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Fellow must be enrolled full time and receive her degree at the end of the year.

 

David G. Casavan Memorial Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: January 11

Applicant must have a minimum 2.8 GPA, be a resident of a Ventura County, and be pursuing a degree in engineering, mathematics or physical science.

 

CERT Scholars Fund

Award: $1,000, Deadline: September 15 (fall); February 15 (spring)

Applicant must be a member of an American Indian tribe and must have successfully completed a high school summer transition program offered by CERT or a tribal internship program. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate (12 hours/semester) or graduate (9 hours/semester) student enrolled at an accredited two or four year tribal, private, or public university or college.

 

Fox River Valley Chapter Charles H. Bennett Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: December 10

Applicant must be a graduate of a high school in the Fox River Valley Chapter region.

 

AIAA Graduate Award

Award: $5,000, Deadline: January 31

Applicant must have completed a minimum of one semester of full-time graduate study with a GPA of no less than the equivalent of a 3.3. Applicant must intend to enter into some field of science or engineering encompassed by the technical activities of AIAA. Selection is based upon scholarship, research plan, career goals, recommendations, and extracurricular activities. Upon receipt of award, recipient must become an AIAA member.
