Scholarships in Master's-level Study

Leo Bourassa Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicants must be Virginia residents and students in good standing at an accredited college or university in the state. They must complete at least two semesters of undergraduate study by the award date. They must also be full-time undergraduate or full- or part-time graduate students enrolled in curriculum related to water resources.

 

CampusRN Scholarship Fund

Award: $2,500, Deadline: May 1

Applicants must be nursing students at schools that have registered in the scholarship program by linking to the CampusRN website. An essay is required. Finalists may be asked to submit awards, letters of recommendation and other materials upon selection. One award is given for each of the six geographical regions.

 

Mary Anne Williams Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: March 15

Applicants must be Virginia residents who are lineal descendants of a worthy Confederate veteran. They must be undergraduate or graduate students who are majoring in pre-medicine or engineering at a Virginia postsecondary institution. They must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a four-point scale. Applicants must demonstrate financial need. Selection is based on academic achievement and financial need.

 

ASCA/AISC Student Design Competition

Award: $2,000, Deadline: May 15

Applicants must be architecture students at ACSA member schools in the United States, Canada or Mexico and be college juniors, seniors or graduate students. Students must submit a design project on one of the association's featured themes, and they must work under the direction of a faculty sponsor.

 

Charles Dubose Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 21

Applicants must have completed two years of an NAAB accredited architecture program leading to a bachelor's degree as of June 30 of the year of application. Students enrolled in non-accredited programs who have been accepted to an NAAB accredited master's degree program, as well as those currently enrolled in such a program, are also eligible. Applicants must be full-time students. Preference is given to students at the University of Pennsylvania, Georgia Institute of Technology and Fontainebleau summer program and to Connecticut residents.

 

Cynthia and Alan Baran Fine Arts and Music Scholarship Fund

Award: -, Deadline: March 15

Applicants must be current students at an accredited college or university, take at least six credit hours and be enrolled in a bachelor's of fine art, bachelor's of studio art, master's of fine art or bachelor's or master's in music program. Art students must major in painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, photography or printmaking. Preference for music scholarships is given to those studying acoustic mandolin or acoustic guitar. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.

 

ACES Copy Editing Scholarships

Award: $2,500, Deadline: November 16

Applicants must be college juniors, seniors or graduate students. Graduating students who will take full-time copy editing jobs or internships are eligible. They must demonstrate interest in and aptitude for copy editing.

 

Karen Ann Shopis-Fox Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: March 15

Applicants must be Connecticut residents and be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary landscape architecture or environmental education program. Both undergraduate and graduate students may apply.

 

Mabel Mayforth Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: March 1

Applicants must be Vermont residents who are college juniors, seniors or graduate students and must major horticulture, landscape, design, conservation, forestry, agronomy, plant pathology or biology with a special interest in plants, ecology and allied subjects. They must be full-time students at an accredited institution with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Previous winners may reapply.

 

Kit C. King Graduate Scholarship Fund

Award: $2,000, Deadline: January 6

Applicants must provide a portfolio, be pursuing an advanced degree in journalism with an emphasis in photojournalism and demonstrate financial need. Applicants can apply to as many NPPA scholarships as desired, but only one award will be granted per winner.

 

American Council of Engineering Companies of New Jersey Member Organization Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 3

Applicants must be rising undergraduate juniors or above enrolled in an ABET-accredited bachelor's degree program in engineering, a master's degree program in engineering, a doctoral degree program in engineering or an accredited land surveying program. Master's students must either be enrolled in an ABET-accredited program or must hold a bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited school. Doctoral students must hold either an ABET-accredited bachelor's degree or an ABET-accredited master's degree in engineering. They must be U.S. citizens. Selection is based on GPA, personal essay, recommendation letter, work experience and extracurricular involvement.

 

The Arc of Washington State Trust Fund Stipend Award

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 28

Applicants must be undergraduate juniors or above (including graduate-level students) and must be enrolled in a college or university located in Idaho, Washington state, Alaska or Oregon. They must be interested in working with the developmentally disabled. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

Association of Cuban Engineers Scholarship Foundation Scholarships

Award: -, Deadline: December 16

Applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal residents of Hispanic heritage who have completed at least 30 units of coursework towards a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering at an ABET-accredited institution located in the United States or Puerto Rico. They must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and must be current, full-time students (carrying 12 or more semester hours if an undergraduate and 6 or more semester hours as a graduate student). Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

Association of Federal Communications Consulting Engineers Scholarships

Award: $2,500, Deadline: October 31; May 31

Applicants must be full-time (12+ units per semester) undergraduate students at an accredited postsecondary institution. They must be rising juniors or above and must be enrolled in a subject that is related to the radio communications consulting engineering field. They must have or acquire an AFCCE member who will act as a sponsor. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

Herman J. Smith Scholarship

Applicants must be full-time undergraduate or graduate students attending an accredited four-year institution. They must have at least one more year of study to complete after the date of award disbursement; fifth-year seniors are ineligible for this award. They must be majoring in and planning to pursue a career in mortgage finance, construction management or another construction-related subject. Preference is given to Texas residents, students who attend school in Texas and current members of their school's National Association of Home Builders student chapter. Selection is based on academic merit, recommendations, work experience, extracurricular activities, career goals and financial need.

 

Win Cash for Class Scholarship Program

Award: $4,000, Deadline: September 9

Applicants must be matriculated students attending an accredited college or university located in Connecticut; matriculated students attending a non-Connecticut school who are also the spouse or child of an HFMA Connecticut Chapter member; matriculated students who are Connecticut residents and who commute to an accredited school that is located in an HFMA Region 1 state or matriculated students who are permanent healthcare industry employees working in the state of Connecticut. They must be studying or planning to study financial management or a healthcare subject. Selection is based on the strength of the applicant's essay.

 

University Scholarship and Research Grant

Award: $5,000, Deadline: January 31

Applicants must be high school seniors or undergraduate or graduate students who are Michigan residents and U.S. citizens with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Students must enroll in a degree program in information systems, business applications, computer science, computer engineering, software engineering or information security.

 

Laptop/Printer Grant

Applicants must be Michigan residents who are pursuing degrees in information systems, computer science, computer engineering, software engineering or information security and need a laptop to achieve their goals. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Selection criteria include GPA, essay, technology-related activities, letters of recommendation, community service and completeness of application.

 

Theodore Gordon Flyfishers Inc. Founders Fund Scholarship

Award: $3,500, Deadline: April 1

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, undergraduate students with senior standing enrolled full-time or graduate students enrolled full-time. Students must major in an area of environmental studies such as, but not limited to, ecology, hydrology, conservation biology, natural resource management, zoology or environmental law and policy. A list of member institutions is online. Applicants must have a 3.5 GPA in environmental conservation coursework and a minimum 3.0 overall.

 

Garden Club of Ohio Inc. Scholarships

Applicants must be residents of Ohio and must be enrolled in a postsecondary degree program related to environmental science, plant science, horticulture, floriculture, city planning or wildlife. They must be rising undergraduate juniors, undergraduate seniors or graduate students and have a GPA of 3.25 or higher. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

Health Research and Educational Trust Health Career Scholarships

Award: $2,000, Deadline: June 15

Applicants must be New Jersey residents. They must be undergraduate juniors, undergraduate seniors or graduate students enrolled in a nursing, allied health professions, healthcare administration or hospital administration degree program. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and must demonstrate financial need. Selection is based on the quality of the personal essay submitted as part of the application.

 

H.M. Muffly Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: October 31

Applicants must be Colorado residents who are planning to practice nursing in Colorado. They must be juniors or seniors working towards the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); Registered Nurses (RNs) pursuing the bachelor's degree or higher in a school of nursing; practicing RNs pursuing a doctoral degree in nursing or second- or third-year Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) students. Undergraduates must have a GPA of 3.25 or higher, and graduate students must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Selection is based on GPA, financial need, recommendations, community involvement and commitment to professional practice in Colorado.

 

National Foliage Foundation General Scholarships

Applicants must be graduating high school seniors or full-time undergraduate or graduate students. They must be enrolled in or planning to enroll in a horticulture or related degree program and must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. They must be interested in pursuing a career in foliage marketing or growing. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

East Asia and Pacific Summer Institutes

Award: $5,000, Deadline: November 10

Applicants must be U.S. graduate students enrolled in a research-oriented master's or Ph.D. program or college graduates enrolled in a joint bachelor's/master's program at a U.S. institution. Students must pursue studies in science, engineering and education research. The award provides summer research experience in Australia, China, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Singapore or Taiwan, a $5,000 stipend, round-trip airfare, living expenses and orientation in Washington, DC.

 

John D. and Virginia Riesch Scholarship

Applicants must be U.S. citizens. They must be full-time students enrolled in a medical school or nursing degree program at an accredited Wisconsin college or university. Rising undergraduate freshmen, undergraduate medical students and nursing students enrolled in a less than two-year program are ineligible. Preference will be given to Wisconsin residents and to applicants who are planning to practice in Wisconsin. Selection is based on academic merit, personal qualities, recommendations and financial need.

 

Kansas City IFMA Scholarship

Applicants must be full-time undergraduates, full-time graduate students or part-time graduate students enrolled at a postsecondary institution located in Kansas or Missouri. They must be majoring in a subject that is related to facility management (such as business operations, construction science, interior design, environmental design, architecture or engineering). Selection is based on stated career goals, GPA, recommendations, extracurricular activities and applicant interview.

 

Kansas Nutrition Council Scholarship

Applicants must be Kansas residents who are rising undergraduate juniors, rising undergraduate seniors or graduate students enrolled at a college or university located in Kansas. They must be majoring in nutrition, dietetics, family and consumer sciences or a related subject. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

Mary R. Norton Memorial Scholarship Award for Women

Applicants must be full-time undergraduate seniors or first-year graduate students. They must be enrolled in or planning to enroll in a graduate program in physical metallurgy or materials science, with an emphasis on the relationship between properties and microstructures. Selection is based on faculty recommendation and personal statement.
