Awarded to a member of the graduating class who displays an interest in and acceptance of others, and who displays the ethos of a Wellesley education. Award will fund a year of travel abroad with the requirement that the recipient not remain in the same area for more than two months. Preference is given to those who have not previously held the award. Selection is based upon merit and need.

Fourth-year undergraduate students who intend to pursue a master's degree in September are also eligible. Applicant must be conversant in English and one other language.

Applicant must be a current employee who is enrolled in a nursing or allied health (e.g. radiology technology, respiratory therapy, medical technology, physical therapy, physical therapy assistant, occupational therapy, or physician assistant) undergraduate program or a non-employee who is enrolled in a nursing program leading to a B.S.N. or higher. Minimum 2.5 GPA, two letters of recommendation, transcript, and letter of acceptance/good standing required. Award requires a work commitment at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, MD, upon completion of degree program.

Applicant must be a pianist or string player (viola, violin, cello, or bass). Recipient will also receive a performance with the San Angelo Symphony (an additional $1,000 performance fee). Piano and string division winners will each receive $2,000 and runner-ups will receive $1,000. Honorable mentions also awarded totaling $1,000.
