Scholarships in High School Senior

WyzAnt Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a student who is planning to be enrolled in a four-year college between August 2016 and November 2018. A 300-word essay is required. Award minimum granted to third place recipient; award average granted to second place recipient; award maximum granted to first place recipient. Finalists will be determined by popular vote.

 

Sibling Award

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must have more than one member of their immediate household enrolled at the college full-time. Award does not apply for married children or students considered independent for financial aid services. The grant is set up with a tiered scale providing more money relative to the number of siblings at Bryan. Two siblings enrolled concurrently receive $500 each; three or more siblings enrolled concurrently receive $1,000 each. If a sibling graduates or leaves the school at any time, the amount of aid will be adjusted accordingly.

 

Christian Worker Grant

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must have a parent who is a full-time worker at a Christian non-profit organization and whose income is the major source of support for the family. Letter from organization verifying employment is required to be submitted.

 

AWANA Grant

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must have received the AWANA Citation Award.

 

Alumni Grant

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must have a parent or grandparent who graduated from the college.

 

Rhea County Scholarship

Award: $12,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a resident of Rhea County September 1 of their senior year of high school. Minimum 3.0 GPA and minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 980 (composite ACT score of 21) required.

 

Alumni Scholarship

Award: $12,000, Deadline: January 15 (priority)

Selection based upon applicant's overall admission application, including standardized test scores and academic performance in high school or college. Applicant will be considered for the award upon applying to the university.

 

Michael Yasick ADHD Scholarship by Shire

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 18

Applicant must be a student in the United States who is diagnosed with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) who is planning to pursue higher education. Applicant must be a legal resident of the United States who is accepted to or enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, accredited trade, or technical/or vocational school. At time of application, applicant must be diagnosed with ADHD and under the care of a licensed health care provider for ADHD, although no specific future or ongoing plan of management or treatment for applicant's ADHD is required in order for applicant to be eligible for the program.

 

Michael A. Demayo Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: February 24

Applicant must be a current high school (or home-schooled) senior with a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA who attends school and lives in the following counties of North Carolina: Mecklenburg, Gaston, Catawba, Union, Cabarrus, Cleveland, Lincoln, Rowan, Caldwell, Stanly, Iredell, Alexander, Burke, Robeson, Scotland, Richmond, Anson and Cumberland; or South Carolina: York, Lancaster, Chesterfield, Marlboro and Dillon. Applicant must be accepted for full-time enrollment or be planning to pursue a degree at an accredited four-year college or university. AXA Achievement Scholarship in Association with U.S. News & World Report

Award: $25,000, Deadline: December 1

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident living or claiming residency in one of the 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico. Applicant must be a current high school senior who plans to enroll as a full-time student in an accredited two- or four-year program in the United States. Demonstration of ambition and self-drive as evidenced by outstanding achievement in school, community, or work activities is required.

 

Wendy's High School Heisman Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: October 3

Applicant must be a high-achieving high school senior athlete. Minimum 3.0 GPA required. Applicants must be able to show leadership withing school and community.

 

$1,000 Moolahspot Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: August 31

Applicant must be at least 16 years of age and be planning on or be currently attending college or graduate school. Applications must be completed in English. Selection is based upon a short essay.

 

$1,000 College JumpStart Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: October 17

Applicants must be 10th, 11th or 12th grade high school, college or adult students. Applicants may study any major and attend any college in the U.S. Applicants must be legal residents of the U.S. and complete the online application form including the required personal statement. The award may be used for tuition, room and board, books or any related educational expense. Applicant must be committed to using education to better their life and that of their family and/or community.

 

$1,500 Scholarship Detective Launch Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: May 31

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Selection based upon personal statement. Second award selection based on a random drawing of all eligible applicants.

 

Anthony Alexander, Andrew Delos Reyes & Jeremy Tolentino Memorial Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be a current year graduating senior at Mililani High School. Application requires an essay.

 

Cayetano Foundation Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior with a minimum 3.5 GPA. Preference is given to applicants with the greatest financial need. Applicant must include 2 letters of recommendation, a personal statement, an essay, and parent or guardian financial information.

 

DISH Systems $1,000 Essay Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a college-bound high school senior or currently enrolled in a college or university. Essay on specific question required.

 

AWeber Email Marketing Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a currently enrolled full-time college freshman, sophomore, or junior, or a high school senior in the United States. A 500-word essay on specific questions required.

Applicant must be a resident of the Hilo and Hamakua coasts and be majoring in agriculture, medicine, science or nursing.

 

David L. Irons Memorial Scholarship Fund

Applicant must be a graduating senior of Punahou school. Personal statements required.

 

Dolly Ching Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior from a high school on the island of Kaua'i and planning to attend any school in the University of Hawaii system.

 

Doris and Clarence Glick Classical Music Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must major in music with an emphasis on classical music. Personal statement required.

 

Dr. and Mrs. Moon Park Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be an employee or child dependent with at least one year of service with Clinical Laboratories of Hawaii, LLP and/or Pan Pacific Pathologies, LLC, at the time of application and award. Applicant must attend a college or university in Hawaii or the Continental U.S. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Eastside & Northshore Kaua'i Scholarship Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be a resident of one of the following east and northshore Kaua'i areas: Anahola, Kapa'a, Kilauea, Hanalei, Princeville, Kealia, or Wailua. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

Elena Albano Maka'alohilohi Scholarship Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be a resident of Maui county recovering from a mental health, behavioral or psychological disability. Preference given to applicants of Hawaiian ancestry and past recipients.

 

Ellen Hamada Fashion Design Scholarship (VocEd)

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be pursuing an A.S. or A.A.S. in fashion design within the University of Hawaii Community College system.

 

Ellison Onizuka Memorial Scholarship Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior planning to major in aerospace engineering or related fields.

 

Elsie S. Yoshizawa Hotta Scholarship Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be a graduate of Baldwin High School and majoring in education.

 

Esther Kanagawa Memorial Art Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be majoring in the fine arts (drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics or photography).

 

Filipino Nurses' Organization of Hawai'i Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be a nursing major of Filipino descent.
