DREAM Institute Scholastic Awards

Award: $7,000, Deadline: May 2

Applicant must be a high school senior with physical and or learning disabilities applying for college in the next academic year.

 

Oklahoma Tuition Aid Grant

Award: -, Deadline: None

Applicant must a resident of Oklahoma and enrolled at least part-time.

 

Talent Plus Scholarship

Award: $2,900, Deadline: April 15 (priority date)

Applicant must be an Oklahoma resident with a minimum 3.25 high school GPA an a minimum 24 composite ACT score. Applicant must demonstrate talent in art, drama,or music.

 

The James Alan Cox Scholarship for Student Photojournalists

Award: $2,500, Deadline: November 15

Applicant must be a high school (sophomore or older with one semester remaining), college, or graduate school student. High school applicant must be enrolled in a minimum of one photography or related art class; college students must be enrolled in photography or journalism; graduate students must be enrolled in a journalism/photojournalism class. Photo or video that 'tells a story' must be submitted.

 

Scholar Athlete Program

Award: $1,100, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a high school student athlete who demonstrates excellence both on and off the field and in the classroom. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be nominated by a teacher, coach, faculty member, parent, or peer. From January to March, two high school seniors in the greater Seattle area will be chosen weekly as the Scholar Athlete of the Week and given a $100 scholarship to acknowledge their academic and athletic commitment. Two athletes will receive the $1,100 grand prize.

Applicant must be a United States citizen or permanent resident who is enrolled, or intends to enroll at an institution of higher education. Recipient must be enrolled in an eligible institution of higher education within one year of winning the award.

 

$1,000 Cappex Easy College Money Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: Last day of every month

Applicant must be currently enrolled in high school or college, or plan to enroll within the next 12 months. A short explanation regarding why you deserve the scholarship and a Cappex profile are required in order to apply.

 

Out of State Award

Award: $3,000, Deadline: May 1 (priority)

Applicant must be a United States resident who is living outside of New York State and who visits the college before January 31st of their senior year.

 

Hixson Opportunity Award

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a current high school senior who is a resident of Kansas and is an entering freshmen for the upcoming fall term at the university. Applicant must have faced challenges of personal and/or financial hardship; applicants whose parent(s) did not earn a four-year college degree will receive priority consideration (first generation). FAFSA is required.

 

Diverse Minds Youth Writing Challenge

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 11 (Southern New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland); March 18 (Washington, D.C. metro area); March 25 (New York)

Applicant must be a high school student currently enrolled in grades 9 through 12 in one of the following areas: Washington, DC; Delaware/Delmarva Peninsula and southern New Jersey; New York City; or Maryland area (each city/ region is a separate contest with students competing only against others in their local community). Applicant must write and illustrate a children's book that discusses the topics of tolerance and diversity.

 

Full Ride Scholarship

Applicant must be a United States citizen who is a current high school senior anticipating completion of high school in the spring and attend an HBCU by July 1. Minimum high school 3.5 GPA and SAT Reasoning score of 1300 (ACT score of 28) are required. Applicant must have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular, or other activities.

 

Frank Jacinto Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a Hispanic student who is graduating from a public high school in the city of Lorain, OH. Two letters of recommendation and a one-page essay on career goals are required. Applications are only available through Lorain Admiral King and Southview high school guidance counselors. Award amount is determined by committee.

 

Janet Lowther McMinn & Robert McMinn Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduating senior of North Ridgeville High School who is enrolling as a full-time undergraduate student at Lorain County Community College and pursuing a career in business or education. Academic achievement and financial need are considered. FAFSA and Student Aid Report are required. Award amount is determined by committee.

 

African American Scholarship

Applicant must be a resident of Lorain County and a high school senior who is pursuing an undergraduate education. Minimum 2.0 GPA required. Financial need is considered. FAFSA and Student Aid Report are required. Award amount is determined by committee.

 

110-Year Scholarship Contest

Award: -, Deadline: December 31

Applicant must be a new prospective student at the college between February 4 and December 31. Applicant must be able to demonstrate a desire to improve their career with education. Financial need and a passionate aspiration to better their life through academic achievement are required. Applicant must start classes by April 5, July 6, October 4, or January 3 in order to be eligible. Minimum 2.5 GPA at Rasmussen and enrollment in a minimum of nine credits every quarter are required in order to maintain the scholarship.

 

Dunkin' Donuts Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 15

Applicant must be a high school senior who plans to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-year of four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school in the fall. Some requirements vary by county.

 

The MITIO Foundation Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 5; November 5

Applicant must be a high school senior or college student who is bilingual in English and another language (fully fluent in each). Letter of acceptance (or enrollment), application to provide verification of degree field related to healthcare, proof of proficiency in English and another language, and 500-word essay are required. Required essay question: How do I plan to use my bilingual abilities in the healthcare field?

 

Coastwise Prize for Investing Excellence

Award: $2,500, Deadline: January 13

Applicant must be a sophomore, junior, or senior student at La Jolla High School, La Jolla Country Day, The Bishop's School, or The Preuss School. Essay required. Award looks to promote and inspire financial education among students to help them become more competent, aware, and wise when managing personal finances. Award amounts vary by class level. Recipients will be invited to attend the Annual Financial Horizons Conference at UC San Diego.

 

Courage to Grow Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: Last day of every month

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen who is a junior or senior in high school, a college student, or a student planning to enroll within 12 months. Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5. Short essay required. One individual will be selected each month. Applicants may apply monthly.

 

Hood Sportsmanship Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 6

Applicant must be a high school senior with a minimum 3.0 GPA who has proven their ability to put the spirit of competition above winning while participating in a varsity sport. Community service work is also required. Applicant must write an essay explaining why they are a good sport on and off the field. Applicants who meet all requirements and complete the essay will be voted on in an online competition; 10 applicants from each New England state with the most votes will be interviewed by a select panel of judges.

 

The Bird Dog Foundation's College Scholarship Essay Contest/The Michael Tuxon Scholarship Award

Award: $1,500, Deadline: April 15

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen who is a high school senior residing in Tennessee, Mississippi, or Arkansas. Essay required.

 

Balanced Man Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: July 31

Applicant must be an incoming male freshmen (new or transfer) at the University of Nebraska - Omaha who exhibits academic excellence, demonstrates leadership skills, and commits to health and well-being.

 

Governor Terry E. Brandstad Iowa State Fair Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior from an Iowa high school who plans to enroll at an Iowa college or university. Active participation in the Iowa State Fair (past or present) is required.

 

All Iowa Opportunity Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: July 1 (March 1 priority)

Applicant must be a high school senior who graduated in 2013 or will graduate with the class of 2014. Applicant must be an Iowa resident who beings initial enrollment at an eligible Iowa college/university within two academic years of graduating from high school and enroll for at least three semester hours in a program leading to an undergraduate degree. FAFSA must be filed by July 1.

 

Computer Science Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1050; award is merit-based. Major in computer science and/or business is required.

 

English Communications Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1050; award is merit-based. Applicant must be a full-time student majoring in English communications.

 

Paul Tsongas Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must have a minimum 3.75 GPA and minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1200. Award is based upon merit.

 

MCLA Presidential Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must have a minimum 3.3 GPA and minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1600. Award is merit based.

 

Merit-Based Scholarships

Award: $5,000, Deadline: December 1

Applicant must be a student who has applied to the university by December 1st with a minimum 3.5 GPA and minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1200. A student meeting this criteria does not guarantee that they will receive an award. Some awards will depend on major selected, geographical location, and financial need.

 

Caitlin Brondolo Golf Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: May 31

Applicant must be a high school senior accepted to an accredited college or university in the United States with a minimum 3.5 GPA. Applicant must have played a minimum of two years on a high school golf team and be accepted an preparing to play on a collegiate golf team. Official high school transcript, autobiographical essay (including background, career objectives, describing how golf has been an integral part of your life, and academic and professional goals), and three letters of recommendation from high school coach, PGA professional, junior golf program coordinator, high school teacher, counselor, principle, or local community representative or business leader are required to be submitted.
