Jerry Juhl Fund for the Arts

Award: $2,000, Deadline: April 13

Applicant must be a Mendocino, Fort Bragg, or Point Area high school senior who plans to attend a four-year college or university and study the performing arts, including music, dance, theatre, film, and puppetry. Selection based upon potential for career success in the performing arts and their prior academic performance. Minimum 3.0 GPA is desired, but not required.

Applicant must be a Laytonville High School senior who plans to attend a vocational school, community college, or four-year college/university. Selection based upon prior academic performance, potential for academic success, and community service. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Jonathan Family Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: April 13

Applicant must be a Laytonville High School senior who plans to attend a vocational school, community college, or four-year college/university. Selection based upon financial need; their qualities of diligence, perseverance, and selflessness; and desire to pursue studies in music, art, architecture, building construction and/or design.

 

Ryan & Collin Petitte Memorial Scholarship Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 13

Applicant must be a Ukiah-area high school senior who is interested in attending a vocational school, community college, or four-year college/university. Selection is based upon their strong family bond and sense of humor; their interest in pursuing a career in wildlife conservation, environmental resource management or economics; their community or school activities (including hobbies, interests, and non-traditional activities); and financial need.

 

David Joseph Talamo Memorial Athletic Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 13

Applicant must be a Ukiah High School senior who plans to attend a vocational school, community college, or four-year college/university. Selection based upon sense of humor and love of family; for their participation in organized sports throughout high school; and for prior academic performance. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Tom Goforth Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,500, Deadline: April 13

Applicant must be a Ukiah High School senior who plans to attend Mendocino College. Selection is based upon prior academic performance, involvement in the golf team and/or a desire to pursue a career in nursing, and financial need. Minimum 3.0 GPA is required.

 

Warren 'Ed' Brown Scholarship Fund

Award: $4,000, Deadline: April 13

Applicant must be a Ukiah High School senior who would like to pursue a career in mathematics or engineering. Minimum 3.5 and financial need are required.

 

Viola L. Allen and Oscar A. Allen Scholarship Fund

Award: $4,000, Deadline: April 13

Applicant must be a female Ukiah High School senior or graduate with serious interest in pursuing a career in the medical field. Selection based upon financial need and prior academic achievement.

 

Dr. Charles O. and Harriett C. Smith Memorial Scholar-Athlete Scholarship Fund

Award: $500, Deadline: April 13

Applicant must be a Willits High School senior who plans to attend a four-year college or university. Selection based upon prior academic performance, community/extracurricular involvement, and solid work ethic. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Randy Clark Memorial Vocational Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 13

Applicant must be a Willits High School senior or graduate who plans to pursue vocational education at trade schools or community colleges. Selection based upon membership in Future Farmers of America or 4H Club (of at least one year), potential for career success, and financial need.

 

Auxiliary of Radford Community Hospital/CNRVMC Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 6

Applicant must be a resident of Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, or Pulaski Counties or a resident of the city of Radford who is a high school graduate or student with a GED. Applicant must be pursuing a career in nursing or a related health profession (excluding those who intend to become physicians). Financial need and above average academic ability are required.

 

Skip Bishop Scholarship Fund

Award: $500, Deadline: February 6

Applicant must be a student from Floyd County High School who plans to pursue their post-secondary education at a college or university. Financial need and participation as a student athlete in any high school sport are required to be demonstrated. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

T. Scott Eaton Scholarship Fund

Award: $500, Deadline: February 6

Applicant must be a resident of Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, or Pulaski Counties, or from the City of Radford. Applicant must be pursuing a post-secondary degree in theatre or fine arts. Minimum 2.0 GPA required.

 

Epperly Family Fund

Award: $500, Deadline: February 6

Applicant must be an Eastern Montgomery High School student who is pursuing education at a college, university, or post-secondary vocational school. Financial need is required. Preference will be given to students employed while in high school.

 

Jim Gwazdauskas Memorial Scholarship Fund

Award: $500, Deadline: February 6

Applicant must have been a member of the Blacksburg High School men's soccer team who is pursuing post-secondary education at any trade or technical school, college or university.

 

Juanita Shelor Hall Memorial Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 6

Applicant must be an Auburn High School student who who plans to pursue an undergraduate degree in business or education. Financial need is required.

 

Warren Lloyd Holtzman Freedom Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,800, Deadline: February 6

Applicant must be pursuing education at a college, university, or post-secondary school. Financial need, minimum 2.5 GPA, and additional essay (500 to 2,000 words) about the benefits to society of personal freedom, initiative, calculated risk-taking and a free enterprise system are required. Minimum award amount is for applicants attending a two-year institution; maximum is for applicants attending a four-year institution.

 

Diana Love Legacy Instrumental Music Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 6

Applicant must be a student in the Blacksburg High School band who plans to pursue a career in instrumental music. Financial need and dedication to high school symphonic/marching bands and musicianship are required to be demonstrated.

 

Allen Mandelstamm Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 6

Applicant must be a high school graduate or student with a GED who is from the City of Radford or from the following counties: Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, or Pulaski. Applicant must be pursuing a post-secondary degree at a college/university or post-high school college preparatory program. Minimum 2.5 GPA and financial need are required.

 

Marie Mandelstamm Scholarship Fund

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 6

Applicant must be a student at one of the following high schools: Blacksburg, Christiansburg, Eastern Montgomery, or Radford. Applicant must be pursuing a post-secondary degree in the sciences to include math, engineering, biology, and computers. Financial aid and minimum 3.0 GPA are required.

 

A. Phillip Meadows Leadership Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: February 6

Applicant must be a resident of the City of Radford or Hinton, WV or one of the following counties: Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, or Pulaski. Applicant must be pursuing a post-secondary degree at Virginia Tech. Financial need, strong academic achievement, leadership qualities, and active involvement and participation in school/church/community service are required to be demonstrated.

 

Mary Ann King Peters Memorial Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 6

Applicant must be a student at Floyd County High School who is a member of the Floyd County girls basketball team. Financial need is required.

 

Plummer Family Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 6

Applicant must be a student from Grayson County High School or Galax High School who is pursuing a post-secondary degree at a college, technical school, art school, community college, or any university located in Virginia, North Carolina, or Tennessee. Financial need, good moral character, and participation in extracurricular activities must be demonstrated. Minimum 3.0 GPA and additional essay on "What positive contribution do you plan to make to humanity?" are required.

 

Adrienne Marie Rhudy Memorial Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,700, Deadline: February 6

Applicant must be a resident of the City of Radford or be a resident of one of the following counties: Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, Pulaski, or Grayson. Applicant must be pursuing a post-secondary degree at a two- or four-year college or university. Applicant must be able to demonstrate ability to overcome adversity. Minimum 2.5 GPA and additional essay are required to be submitted.

 

Evelyn Rutrough Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 6

Applicant must be a student from Floyd County High School who is pursuing a post-secondary degree in the teacher education or nursing fields. Financial aid and minimum 2.5 GPA are required.

 

Eric E. Sutphin Memorial Scholarship Fund

Award: $500, Deadline: February 6

Applicant must have a parent or legal guardian who is a law enforcement officer serving in New River Valley. Applicant must be pursuing a post-secondary education at any college, or any university or accredited vocational/technical program. Minimum 2.5 GPA and financial need are required.

 

Woodrow and Elma Turman Scholarship Fund

Applicant must be a student from Floyd County High School who is pursuing a post-secondary education at any trade or technical school, college, or university. Financial need is required.

 

The Wings Fund

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 6

Applicant must be from the City of Radford or from one of the following counties: Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, or Pulaski. Applicant must be pursuing education at a college, university, or post-secondary vocational school. Financial need is required. Older and nontraditional students are encouraged to apply.

 

R.H. Beel Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 5

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Santa Cruz High School. Financial need, high academic achievement, and history of service activities or volunteer work are required to be demonstrated.

 

Ernest V. Cowell Scholarship

Award: $1,300, Deadline: March 5

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a high school in the Santa Cruz City School District who plans to attend a University of California campus in the fall following graduation. Financial need is required.
