The Spirit of Anne Frank Awards

Applicant must be a high school senior who plans to attend a four-year college in the fall of 2016. Applicant must have exhibited extraordinary leadership in their school and community and have shown a meaningful effort to address the issues of social justice (spearheading organizations, programs, or events that address the issues of intolerance, prejudice, and injustice in their community). Completed application, two letters of recommendation, and personal essay are required.

 

Dean's Scholarship

Applicant must have a minimum 3.7 GPA and a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1200 (composite ACT score of 27).

Applicant must be enrolled or will be enrolled at a full-time college or university. Resume based on the life of any non-fictional character from TV, history, literature, or myth required.

 

NAEd/Spencer Postdoctoral Fellowship Program

Award: $55,000, Deadline: November 7

Applicant must have received their Ph.D. between 2008 and 2012 who has a demonstrated record of research experience in education. Applicant's project must be an education research project. Selection based upon the applicant's past research record, career trajectory in education research, and the quality of the project described in the application. Program looks to support early career scholars working in critical ares of education research.

 

Amy Lowell Poetry Travelling Scholarship

Award: $52,000, Deadline: October 15 (request application by October 1)

Applicant must be a native-born U.S. citizen who plans to spend a year of studies outside of North America. Substantial sample of poetry in accordance with requirements on application is required to be submitted.

 

TSF of Wakefield Scholarship

Applicant must be a resident of Wakefield, MA who is a full-time student. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association Scholarship

Applicant must be a full-time student at an accredited college or university and have a $100 minimum annuity certificate, $5,000 term insurance, or $1,000 legal reserve policy with the FCSLA for at least three years prior to application. New York Women in Communications Foundation Scholarship

Applicant must be a student from New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania majoring or (for high school seniors) declaring a major in a communications-related field with a minimum GPA of 3.2. Selection is based upon academic excellence and need and involvement in the field of communications.

 

Roothbert Fund Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student living in one of the designated states noted by the sponsor. Interview is required. Acceptance of the grant obligates the recipient to maintain a high standard of work and conduct, have transcripts sent to the Fund by his or her school after each semester, attend at least one weekend fellowship meeting, keep a close relationship with the Fund through correspondence and visits, and advise the Fund promptly of any change in his or her academic or financial situation. Application form is available online during November, December, and January only.

 

Clay Fellowship

Award: $67,500, Deadline: October 30

Applicant is expected to pursue research programs of their own conception and design, and they should state clearly why they believe that their professional goals would be furthered through research opportunities at the CfA. Applicant is expected to demonstrate their capability for original research through several first-author refereed publications in major astronomy journals.

 

Assisi Award

Huntington Fellowships

Applicant must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent or be a doctoral candidate at dissertation stage. Selection is based upon the value of the project, the ability of the applicant, and the degree to which special strengths of the library will be utilized. Recipients are expected to be in residence throughout their tenure.

 

Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 24

Applicant must have attended at least two semesters at an American high school or college. Applicant or his or her parent must be a Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society-assisted refugee who immigrated to the U.S. Selection is based upon academic excellence, financial need, and community activity. Applicants must have immigrated after January 1, 1992.

 

Elon College Fellows Scholarship

Applicant must complete essay and interview if selected. Selection is based upon SAT Reasoning or ACT scores, GPA, and high school curriculum.

 

Transfer Student Scholarship

Applicant must be transferring from a branch campus, community college, or pursuing a campus-based associate program. Applicant must have a minimum 3.5 GPA with at least 24 transferable semester hours.

Presidential Scholarship

Applicant must have a minimum composite ACT score of 28 and a minimum 3.85 GPA. Average scholarship recipient has an ACT score of 32 and a 4.0 GPA. Semi-finalists selected will be required to participate in an on-campus interview in February.

Applicant must be a Wisconsin resident who has rank in the top tenth of his or her class, a minimum combined SAT I score of 1200 (composite ACT score of 28), and who has shown exceptional commitment to others through community volunteer time and leadership. FAFSA required.
