Applicant must be a Wisconsin resident who is at least 25% Native American and is enrolled in a degree or certificate program at U of Wisconsin, Wisconsin Tech Coll, or a Wisconsin independent college/university or proprietary institution. Applicant must submit FAFSA and grant application.

E.C. Hallbeck Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be the child or grandchild of an active or deceased member of the American Postal Workers Union; the parent or grandparent must have been a member in good standing for at least one year preceding application or death. Selection is based upon academic record, personal qualifications, SAT Reasoning or ACT scores, and total family income. Relatives of APWU elected National Officers are not eligible.

 

Iowa Federation of Labor AFL-CIO Graduate Assistantship

Award: -, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a member in good standing or the child or ward of a member in good standing (active, deceased or retired) of a local union affiliated with the Iowa Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO. Applicant must be accepted into a graduate or professional program of study at The University of Iowa and not only profess an interest in labor education and research, but have the capabilities to offer assistance to the program at the University. Financial need is required.

 

SEIU Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 1

For most awards, applicant must be a member or the child of a member of a SEIU local union. Applicant must have been a member for at least three years prior to September 1 of the year the award is presented. Selection is based upon high school grades, SAT scores, achievements and honors, and personal character report. One scholarship is open to SEIU local union staff.

 

Utility Workers Union of America Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: May 31

Applicant must be the child of an active member of the Utility Workers Union of America. Selection is made by the National Merit Scholarship Corp.

 

Charles Abrams Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: April 30

Applicant must be an United States citizen with financial need who has been accepted into a graduate planning program at one of five eligible schools at which Charles Abrams taught. Applicant must be nominated by the program's department chair and ultimately be in the pursuit of a career as a practicing planner.

 

American Planning Association Planning Fellowship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 30

Applicant must be an African-American, Hispanic, or Native American who is an United States or Canadian citizen with financial need. Applicant must be enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate planning program that is accredited by the Planning Accredited Board.

 

Vocational Education Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must have a minimum grade average of "B" and be accepted to a two-year college or university. Two letters of recommendation required.

 

Catholic Daughters of the Americas Graduate Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be enrolled in a graduate program at a college or university. Reasons for applying, official transcript of undergraduate work, letter of academic reference from a college or university, and autobiography are required.

B. Charles Tiney Memorial ASCE Student Chapter/Club Scholarship

Applicant must be an ASCE National Student Member in good standing and demonstrate financial need. Selection is based upon appraisal of applicant's justification, educational plans, academic performance, potential for development, leadership, and financial need.

 

Arthur S. Tuttle Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 9

Applicant must be a member in good standing of the National ASCE pursuing masters-level study. Selection is based upon appraisal of applicant's justification, educational plan, academic performance and standing, potential for development, leadership capacity, and financial need.

 

O.H. Ammann Research Fellowship in Structural Engineering

Award: $10,000, Deadline: November 1

Applicant must be a National ASCE member in good standing. Award is to encourage the creation of new knowledge in the field of structural design and construction.

 

Freeman Fellowship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 9

Applicant must be a member of ASCE in good standing. Traveling scholarships are available to members under age 45.

 

Operations and Power Division (OPD) Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident enrolled in a course of study relating to a degree in nuclear science and technology. Applicant must be sponsored by an ANS local section, division, student branch, committee member or organization member.

 

TRW Scholarship

Award: $2,125, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a woman and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applicant must be in an ABET-accredited engineering program, engineering at SWE-approved institution, or computer science in a CSAB-accredited program or at an ABET-accredited or SWE-approved institution.

 

Hatton Lovejoy Scholarship

Award: $1,200, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a resident of Troup County, GA for at least two years. Applicant must be a graduate of (or scheduled graduation within six months) of an accredited high school with a scholastic standing in the upper quarter of their class.

 

Access Merit Scholarship

Award: $4,800, Deadline: February 1 (priority)

Selection is based upon financial need, class standing, and class rank. Minimum 3.0 GPA and high national test scores are also required.

 

George C. Brooks Scholarship

Award: $7,500, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a minority, have a high composite ACT score, and participate in the Minority Achievement Program, and be in top 10% of high school class. Applicant must enroll first semester after high school graduation.

 

Alumni Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: February 1 (Priority)

Applicant must rank in the top fifth (20%) of secondary school class and have a minimum 26 ACT score, must be recommended by his/her local alumni chapter.

GED Scholarship

Applicant must have a minimum GED score of 310. Award not available to recipients of other freshmen scholarships.

 

Presidential Scholarship

Applicant must rank in the top tenth of class and have a minimum composite ACT score of 30 (combined SAT I score of 1320).

Applicant must have performance experience in acting and/or music.

 

Theatre and Dance Activity Scholarship

Applicant must have outstanding ability in acting, performance studies, technical theatre, dance, and related activities. New students must present a performance audition or technical interview; videotape may be substituted for on-site audition.
