Applicant must demonstrate technology experience and/or talent and community service. Portfolio and letters of recommendation are required.

 

Ellis W. Hawley Prize

Award: $500, Deadline: October 1

Awarded for the best book-length historical study or dissertation on the political economy, politics, or institutions of the U.S., concerning its domestic or international affairs from the Civil War to the present.

 

David L. Wolper Student Documentary Achievement Award

Award: $1,000, Deadline: June 11

Award is to recognize exceptional achievement in nonfiction film and video production at the university level and to bring greater public and industry awareness to the work of students in the documentary field. Applicant must be a registered, matriculating student and submit videotape with synopsis, application form, and entry fee.

 

Pilot International Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 15

Applicants must be an undergraduate student and pursuing a career that focuses on helping others.

 

Ray Allen Billington Prize

Award: $1,000, Deadline: October 1

Awarded for the best book in American frontier history, including the pioneer periods of all geographical areas and comparisons between American frontiers and others.

 

Scholarship Program

Award: $100,000, Deadline: September 15 (preliminary application); October 1 (full application)

Applicant must hold an M.D., Ph.D., or equivalent degree with at least five years of independent research experience and is expected to hold an independent faculty-level or equivalent position. Minority and women investigators are encouraged to apply.

 

Architecture Master Degree Traveling Fellowship

Award: $15,000, Deadline: December 9

Applicant must submit a portfolio and travel plan and be recommended by school. Applicant must be graduating with a master's degree; award is for post-graduate travel and study.

 

AIAA Graduate Award

Award: $5,000, Deadline: January 31

Applicant must have completed a minimum of one semester of full-time graduate study with a GPA of no less than the equivalent of a 3.3. Applicant must intend to enter into some field of science or engineering encompassed by the technical activities of AIAA. Selection is based upon scholarship, research plan, career goals, recommendations, and extracurricular activities. Upon receipt of award, recipient must become an AIAA member.

 

Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Educational Foundation Scholarships

Award: $3,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be enrolled in a PHCC-approved apprentice program; a full-time certificate or degree program at an accredited two-year community college, technical college or trade school; or an undergraduate degree program at an accredited four-year college or university.

 

Glenn Miller Scholarship

Distinguished Honors Scholarship

Applicant must rank in the top seven percent of class, have an unweighted grade average of 95, and have a minimum combined SAT I score of 1470.

 

Katherine Bogdanovich Loker Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: January 17

Applicant must be a resident of Carson, Palos Verdes, San Pedro, Torrance, or Wilmington, CA and must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

 

Presidential Scholarship

Applicant must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and minimum combined SAT I score of 1000 (composite ACT score of 25). Transfer applicant must have a minimum 3.2 GPA and 44 transfer credits.

 

Nellie Martin Carman Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be nominated by his/her high school to become a candidate for this scholarship. Applicant must be attending a public high school in the county of King, Pierce or Snohomish in the state of Washington, be a U.S. citizen, and be planning to attend college in the state of Washington. Applicants majoring in music, sculpture art, interior decorating, and domestic science are not eligible. Selection based on financial need, academic record, college test scores, school and community activity.

 

Delta Faucet Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a United States or Canadian citizen who is currently enrolled in or plan to enroll in: a PHCC-approved plumbing or HVACR apprentice program; a full-time certificate or degree program at an accredited two-year community college, technical college, or trade school, with a major directly related to the plumbing-heating-cooling profession; or a full-time undergraduate degree program at an accredited four-year college or university, with a major directly related to the plumbing-heating-cooling profession.

 

Incentive Transfer

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a minority who has earned an associate degree from a community college.

 

Academic Achievement Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: August 1

Awarded to top academic returning students who do not receive a Trustee's, President's, Dean's, or Professor's Scholarship. Award amount is dependent upon GPA: $1,000 to students with cumulative GPA between 3.6 and 3.79; $1,500 to students with cumulative GPA between 3.8 and 3.99; $2,000 to students with cumulative 4.0 GPA.

 

Frank Educational Fund

Award: $2,000, Deadline: April 1 (fall); October 1 (spring)

Applicant must submit description of project (related to field of study), writing sample, transcripts, and list of courses planned to be completed.

 

Black Men Building Resources Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be an African-American resident of Kent County, Mich. Transcript, essay, and financial form required. Selection is based upon academic achievement, extracurricular activities, personal statement, and financial need.

 

American Indian Nurse Scholarship Award

Award: $2,250, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be an American Indian in financial need, have career goals related to his or her people, and be attending an accredited nursing school. Applicant must submit two letters of recommendation.

 

LITA/OCLC Minority Scholarship in Library and Information Technology

Award: $2,500, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a U.S. or Canadian citizen, an African-American, Alaskan Native, American Indian, Asian, Hispanic, or Pacific Islander, and must demonstrate commitment to a career in library automation.

 

CFUW Memorial Fellowship

Applicant must be a woman who is a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant who is enrolled in a masters degree program in engineering, mathematics, and science for the 2008-2009 academic year. Study abroad students are also eligible to apply.

 

Chi Epsilon Scholarship

Applicants must be members of the Chi Epsilon, Civil Engineering Honor Society.

 

Honors Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: January 17

High school graduates must have minimum 3.5 GPA and a minimum combined SAT score of 1000 (composite ACT score of 20). Community college transfers must have minimum 3.2 GPA and must meet all of the general education requirements.

 

Golden Gate Restaurant Association Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 30

Applicant must be a California resident and meet one of the following categories: Category I: have graduated from a high school in the greater San Francisco Bay area and have been accepted as a full-time student; Category II: attend a college or university full time that operates under Internal Revenue Code Section 501 (c)(3) or is approved by GGRASF, have completed at least one semester and be accepted for the next semester, and have maintained a minimum 2.75 GPA; Category III: attend a college or university part time that operates under Internal Revenue Code Section 501 (c)(3) or is approved by GGRASF, work in the food service or hospitality industry at least 20 hours per week, have completed at least one semester and be accepted for the next semester, and have maintained a minimum 2.75 GPA.

 

Stewardson Keefe LeBrun Travel Grant

Douglas Haskell Award

Ohio Space Grant Junior and Senior Scholarship

Stewardson Keefe LeBrun Travel Grant

Award: $20,000, Deadline: April 18

Applicant must be a United States citizen with a degree in architecture, who is a full-time practitioner, either licensed or unlicensed. Grant encourages travel within North America and overseas in the furtherance of the architectural education and professional development of the recipients. At least one award will be given to an architectural graduate who received their first professional degree at least five years prior to the date of submission.

 

Eagle Scholars Honors Program

Award: $11,500, Deadline: January 13

Applicant must have a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1320 (composite ACT score of 30) and be invited to apply for the program.
