Applicants must be current FFA members and high school seniors or college students planning to enroll or currently enrolled full-time. They must have one of the following undergraduate majors: agronomy, crop science, general agriculture, agricultural communications, education, journalism, extension, public relations, business management, economics, sales and marketing, engineering, mechanization, agriculture power and equipment or welding. Students only need to complete the online application one time to be considered for all FFA-administered scholarships. The application requires information about the student's activities and a 1,000-word essay. Awards may be used for books, supplies, tuition, fees and room and board. Students must show financial need and evidence of community service participation.

Applicants must be accepted, are in the process of being accepted, or are already enrolled in an AMS-affiliated teacher education program. Financial need, the applicant's personal statement and letters of recommendation are considered.

Applicants must be full-time juniors or seniors at a public Georgia college or university. They must be admitted to their school's college or department of education and have a GPA of 3.25 or higher. Applicants must be legal residents of Georgia, have graduated from a Georgia high school, be U.S. citizens or permanent resident aliens, be in compliance with Selective Service requirements and not be in default on student financial aid. Eligible colleges and universities can nominate one student each year.

Applicants must be currently enrolled in a school library media credential program or master's degree program. Candidates must be residents of the California School Library Association Southern Section region and must provide two letters of recommendation.

Applicants must be education majors focusing on learning to teach scholastic journalism at the secondary school level. Applicants may also be current secondary school journalism teachers looking to improve their teaching skills in relation to scholastic journalism.

They must be nominated for the scholarship by an instructor or supervisor. Applicants must have a GPA of at least 3.5 and demonstrate significant contributions to local or national education efforts. Applicants must be high school seniors who are planning to major in education in college or current undergraduates who are majoring in education. They must have a connection to Phi Delta Kappa (PDK) or Educators Rising. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

Students must be members of the LGBTQ and allied community and display leadership either within the LGBTQ community or within their field of study and demonstrate financial need. Students with additional barriers to education as well as those who are economically, racially, socially, geographically or politically disenfranchised will be given consideration as well.
