Vermont Sheriffs' Association: William Graham Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a dependent of a member of the Vermont Sheriffs' Association who will attend an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Academic achievement, financial need and school/community involvement must be demonstrated.

 

IEHA Education Foundation Scholarship Award

Award: $800, Deadline: January 10

Applicant must be an IEHA member.

 

Fred & Ginger Deines Mexico Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: April 30

Applicant must be a Mexican citizen enrolled at a college or university in the U.S. or Mexico. Selection is based upon scholastic ability, potential, professional interest, character, and financial need.

 

Women in Geographic Education Award

Award: $500, Deadline: February 24

Applicant must be a woman with a minimum 3.0 GPA (3.5 in geography courses). Essay is required.

 

Graduate Scholarship for a Disabled Student

Award: $2,000, Deadline: June 18

Applicant must have a disability and must submit application form, cover letter describing goals, statement of good standing, official transcripts with GPA, confidential recommendations, and essay. Master's level students must be enrolled in or accepted to a program ccredited by te American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Council on Academic Accreditation.

 

Upward Bound Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a R.N., L.P.N., or C.N.A., be a member of or be sponsored by a member of NADONA/LTC, and be employed in Long Term Care with plans to remain employed in Long Term Care for at least years after graduation. Applicant must submit an essay of at least 100 words describing why they are seeking the degree.

 

Excellence in Student Teaching Award

Award: $1,000, Deadline: June 30

Students engaged in student teaching experiences, as defined by the teacher preparation institution, are eligible to participate in the program. Applicant must be certified by an official of the college/university charged with over-seeing students engaged in student teaching. Membership in Phi Delta Kappa is required.

 

California Sea Grant State Fellow Program

Award: -, Deadline: September 1

Applicant must be a graduate student with a degree in a marine-related field at a California university. Applicants must demonstrate interest and experience in both marine science and public policy.

 

Ottis Lock Endowment Research Grant

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must submit biographical data, a general statement of the benefit and uses of the proposed research, purpose of funds, and a complete budget. Research should focus on the history of the East Texas region.

 

Bradley/Gamble Fellows Program in Population Studies

Award: $40,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a candidate for a Master of International Administration. Financial need may be considered.

 

Communication Disorder/Speech Therapy Scholarship

Award: $800, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a legal resident of Massachusetts and submit a letter of endorsement from the president of the sponsoring GFWC of MA club in the community of legal residence, a recommendation from department head of major, a letter stating reason for financial assistance, and college transcript. Interview and SASE required.

 

Speech Language Pathologist Scholarship Loan

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 30

Applicant must be a Delaware resident enrolled as a full-time student, pursuing a speech/language pathologist license.

 

Stella Blum Research Grant

Award: $3,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be participating in a degree program at an accredited institution, is a Costume Society of America member, and has research projects in the field of North American costume which are part of the degree requirements. Selection is based upon creativity and innovation, specific awareness of and attention to costume matters, impact on the broad field of costume, awareness of interdisciplinarity of the field, ability to successfully implement the proposed project in a timely manner, and faculty advisor recommendation.

 

Saticoy Lemon Association Employee Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: January 29

Applicant must be an employee, child or legal ward of an employee of Saticoy Lemon Association, and be a resident of Ventura County, CA.

 

Adele Filene Travel Award

Award: $500, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a member of CSA. Award is to assist travel to CSA National Symposia to present either a juried paper or a poster.

 

Librarian/Archivist Incentive Scholarship Loan

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 30

Applicant must be a Delaware resident.

 

Samuel Basherov Scholarship

Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen with financial need.

 

Abe Voron Scholarship

Applicant must be enrolled at a BEA-member institution. Selection is based upon substantial evidence of superior academic performance and potential to be an outstanding contributor to radio. Applicant must demonstrate interest in the radio industry, high integrity, and personal and professional responsibility.

 

Student Research Grant in Audiology

Award: $2,000, Deadline: June 4

Applicant must submit a formal research proposal and complete the study within one year. The grant recipient is required to submit a report of his/her investigation to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation. Applicant must request guidelines and forms to prepare an application. Master's level students must be enrolled in or accepted to a program ccredited by te American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Council on Academic Accreditation.

 

Power Systems Professional Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must pursue a career as a strength and conditioning coach, be a member of NSCA for at least one year, be in good standing at institution, and working as a strength and conditioning coach in the school's athletic department.

 

Kentucky Nurses Foundation Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: September 1

 

Alexander M. Tanger Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: October 14

Applicant must be enrolled at a BEA-member institution. Selection is based upon substantial evidence of superior academic performance and potential to be an outstanding contributor to the field. Applicant should demonstrate interest in the general field of broadcasting and have a high order of integrity and sense of responsibility.

 

Western Sunbathing Association Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and must be a member or the child of a member of the American Association for Nude Recreation, Western Region.

 

Howard R. Raper Award

Award: $1,000, Deadline: August 15

Applicant must be in the second or third year of a graduate or postgraduate program and be nominated by the director of that program. Selection is based upon academic achievement and potential and interest in oral and maxillofacial radiology.

 

Summer Course Scholarship

Scholarships awarded based on academic merit and financial need, on an individual basis.

 

Kumazo and Yaeko Oda Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: January 5

Applicant must be born in and be a resident of Hawaii (minimum four years of residency are required), have graduated from a high school in the state, and be registered to vote there as well. Minimum 2.0 GPA and financial need required.

 

GNC Nutrition Research Grant

Applicant must be a member of NSCA and be studying in the field of strength and conditioning.

 

Hypertherm International Hytech Leadership Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must have a minimum 2.8 GPA and plan to major in engineering management.

 

Military Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: January 31

Applicant must be an active military or veteran student over the age of 16. Three open-ended, personal, and thought-provoking questions must be answered. Applicants with the most persuasive, compelling, and well-written responses will be considered finalists.
