Leonard M. Perryman Communications Scholarship for Ethnic Minority Students

Applicant must be an ethnic minority who intends to pursue a career in religious communication or journalism.

 

Airman Scholarship and Commissioning Program

Award: $15,000, Deadline: October 15

Applicant must be an U.S. citizen, under 31 years of age as of December 30 in year of graduation and commission, and be in good academic standing. Recommendation from immediate commander, financial statement showing resources adequate to pay collegian living expenses, admittance to a school offering Air Force ROTC and the academic major of scholarship, and have at least two remaining years of college are required.

 

Belle Gould NJCL Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: June 15

Applicant must be a NJCL member who will enter college in upcoming academic year and plans to continue the study of the classics. Special consideration is given to applicants who plan to teach Greek, Latin, or classical humanities. Selection is based upon application, recommendations, grades, and service in the NJCL. Gladys C. Anderson Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, be a woman, and be legally blind. Selection is based upon transcript, three recommendations, sample performance tape, and personal statement.

 

R.L. Gillette Scholarship

Applicant must be a woman, a U.S. citizen, legally blind, and enrolled full time in a four-year degree program. Selection is based upon transcript, three recommendations, sample performance tape or creative writing sample, and personal statement.

 

National President's Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be the child or grandchild of a veteran who served in the U.S. Armed Forces in World War I, World War II, or the Korean, Vietnam, Panama, Granada, or Persian Gulf conflicts and have financial need. Selection is based upon character, Americanism, leadership, scholarship, and need.

 

Spirit of Youth Scholarship

Applicant must be a junior member of the ALA and have paid dues for the three preceding years.

 

Robert T. Liner Scholarship

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident enrolled in a course of study relating to a degree in nuclear science and technology. Applicant must be sponsored by an ANS local section, division, student branch, committee member or organization member.

William J. Adams, Jr. and Marijane E. Adams Scholarship

Applicant must have a declared major in biological or agricultural engineering accredited by ABET or CEAB in the United States or Canada and have completed at least one year of undergraduate study and have at least one year of undergraduate study remaining from the time of application. Applicant must have a special interest in agricultural machinery product design and development. Minimum 2.5 GPA and financial need are required.

 

American Wine Industry Research Scholarship

Francis Ouimet Scholarship

All Ouimet Candidates must have performed at least two years of service to golf as caddies, or as helpers in golf professional or course superintendent operations at any golf course in Massachusetts. Selection based upon academic achievement and potential leadership, including school and community activities, interviews, essays, motivation, character, integrity, golf service and various recommendations.

 

Graduate Fellowship

Applicant must be a current AACCI Student Division member who is a graduate student with an interest and intent to pursue research in grain-based food science and technology.

 

Gina Finzi Memorial Student Summer Fellowship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: March 29

Fellowship is given to foster interest in lupus erythematosus in the areas of basic, clinical, or psychological research under the supervision of an established investigator.

 

E. Wayne Kay Graduate Scholarship

Applicants must be a full-time student with a minimum 3.0 GPA, who has been accepted in a graduate program for a Masters or Doctorate degree with a manufacturing or industrial engineering emphasis in the United States or Canada. Selection will be based upon scholastic ability, exemplary character and leadership capability, and potential for future leadership in the profession.

 

Washington Crossing Foundation Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen with a career interest in government service. Transcripts, letter of recommendation, essay, and standardized test scores are required to be submitted. Recipient will receive an all expenses paid weekend, including transportation and housing in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, to attend the Scholarship Awards Ceremony (which is required to attend in order to receive their scholarship).

 

Atlanta Press Club Journalism Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: February 28

Applicant must demonstrate interest in journalism, be attending a school in Georgia, and demonstrate financial need. Selection is also based upon academic performance. Two awards available for both broadcast and print journalism applicants.

 

Boy Scout Scholarship

Applicant must be a qualified Senior Boy Scout or Explorer, be a resident of Illinois, and submit a 500-word essay on the Legion's Americanism and Boy Scout programs.

 

Jack B. Eckley Minority Scholarship in Telecommunications

Pony of the Americas Scholarship

First Cavalry Division Association Scholarship

Applicant must be the child of a soldier who died while serving in the 1st Cavalry Division. Also eligible are the children of a soldier who has been declared 100% disabled from injuries incurred while serving with the 1st Cavalry Division during War. Applicant can also be the child or grandchild of a 1st Cavalry Division soldier, USAF, FAC, AIE pilot, or war correspondent who served in a designated qualifying unit which was involved in the battle of the Ia Drang Valley during the period of 3-19 November 1965. Applicant must also send a self-addressed, stamped envelope, and request for additional information and application.

 

International Foodservice Editorial Council Annual Scholarship

Applicant must be currently enrolled and in good standing in a post-secondary, degree-granting educational institution. Evidence of training, skill and interest in both foodservice and the communication arts are required.

Postdoctoral Research Associates Program

Award: $32,000, Deadline: November 15

Applicant must either hold a doctoral degree or have completed a primary residency within the last three years and be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or English speaking non-U.S. citizen. Research program begins between July 1 and September 1 and lasts for two years.

 

Berntsen International Scholarship in Surveying Technology

Applicant must be the child or grandchild of an active or deceased member of the American Postal Workers Union in good standing for at least one year preceding application or death. Selection is based upon academic record, personal qualifications, evidence of a commitment to an occupation, response to contemporary questions, and essay. Relatives of APWU elected National Officers are not eligible.

 

State Need Grant

Applicant must be a Washington state resident who has a family income of equal or less than 70% of the state median (see Family Income Chart on sponsor's site). Applicant must be pursuing a first bachelor's degree, certificate, or associate's degree, enrolled with a minimum of three credits. FAFSA is required.

 

Washington Scholars

Award: $10,248, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a resident of Washington state who will be graduating from a Washington public or private high school in the current award year and who will enroll at an eligible in-state college or university following high school graduation.
