L. Phil Wicker Scholarship

Applicant must have at least a general class radio license and be attending school in the ARRL Roanoke Division (North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia). Preference is given to residents of North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Mark Twain Nonresident Scholarship

Applicant must rank in top 50% of graduating high school class, have a minimum composite ACT score of 27 (combined SAT I score of 1210), and be a resident of any state except Missouri.

 

Out-of-State Collegiate Scholar

Award: $3,500, Deadline: December 1

Applicant must be an out-of-state first-time freshman student with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA and a minimum composite ACT score between 28 and 29 (combined SAT Reasoning score between 1250-1320).

 

Out-of-State Presidential Scholar

Applicant must be an out-of-state first-time freshman student with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA and minimum composite ACT score between 32 and 36 (combined SAT Reasoning score between 1400 and 1600).

 

Out-of-State Capstone Scholar

Applicant must be an out-of-state first-time freshman student with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA and a minimum composite ACT score of 27 (combined SAT Reasoning score between 1210 and 1240).

 

Stanley Jackson Reeves Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be enrolled in the College of Business and Public Affairs, demonstrate financial need, have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA, and be a resident of Georgia, North Carolina, or South Carolina.

 

North Carolina Teaching Fellows

Award: $13,000, Deadline: October 29

Applicant must be a North Carolina resident and be chosen by Public School Forum of North Carolina. Grant is forgiven if recipient teaches in North Carolina public school system for four years after graduation. Apply to Public School Forum of North Carolina.

 

North Carolina Legislative Tuition Grant

Applicant must be a North Carolina resident and be a full-time undergraduate. Verification of residency required at registration.

 

Lettie Pate Whitehead Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a Christian woman who is a resident of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, or Virginia. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, be enrolled full time, and be able to demonstrate financial need. Contact the financial aid office for more information regarding applications.

Julian E. Carnes Scholarship

Guy F. Livingston Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA and be a resident of Polk County, TN, Fannin County, GA, or Cherokee County, NC.

 

Out-of-State Tuition Assistance Scholarship

Applicant must show academic ability and not be a resident of Idaho.

 

Carolina Power & Light Co. (CP&L) Community College Scholarship

Award: $550, Deadline: September 15

Applicant must be a technical or community college student and a North Carolina resident in the Central Power and Light service area with a GPA at or above the level required to graduate. Selection is based upon academics, need, and extracurricular activities. Award may be used at 34 selected community colleges in the CP&L area only. Contact the financial aid office of school for information.

 

CP&L Community College Scholarship for Electrical Installation & Maintenance or Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration

Award: $725, Deadline: September 15

Applicant must be a vocational or technical student and a North Carolina resident in the Central Power and Light service area with a GPA at or above the level required to graduate attending one of 12 specified community colleges. Selection is based upon academics, need, and extracurricular activities.

 

Sprint/Carolina Telephone College Transfer Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: September 15

Applicant must be a vocational or technical student and a North Carolina resident enrolled in a transferable program with a GPA at or above the graduation level and must agree to attend a one-day seminar. Applicant must be attending one of 20 selected North Carolina community colleges. Priority is given to African Americans. Selection is based upon academic achievement, need, and extracurricular activities.

 

Sprint/Carolina Telephone Scholarship

Award: $550, Deadline: September 15

Applicant must be a vocational or technical student and a North Carolina resident enrolled in a selected community college with a GPA at or above the level required for graduation. Priority is given to minorities and displaced workers with a high school diploma or equivalent and those with greatest financial need.

 

North Carolina Community College Scholarship

Award: $580, Deadline: September 15

Applicant must be a vocational or technical student and a North Carolina resident enrolled in one of 58 selected community colleges with a GPA at or above the level required for graduation. Priority is given to minorities, displaced workers, women in non-traditional fields, students with a high school diploma or equivalent, and those with greatest financial need.

 

North Carolina Masonry Contractors Association Scholarship

Applicant must be a vocational or a technical student and be an employee of a NCMCA-member company and have a GPA at or above the level required for graduation. Applicant must be attending a North Carolina community college. Selection is based on academic achievement, need, and extracurricular activities.

 

Benjamin N. Duke Memorial Scholarship
