Frances Lansbury Memorial Award/Adult Female Learner

Applicant must be 20 years old by March 1 and be continuing her education in a school of higher education. She must also be sponsored by a current New York State Women's 600 Bowling Club member.

 

Easton/NFAA Scholarship Program

Award: -, Deadline: December 31

Applicants must be high school students or a student enrolled in a two-year or four-year college or university. High school students applying to be full time students at a technical training college are also eligible to apply. Applicants must also be current members of NFAA or the NAA/USA Archery. The student must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 in high school or 2.5 in college. Selection is based on academic achievements, level of participation in NFAA and USAT rankings.

 

ISAA Scholarship Program

Award: $1,000, Deadline: December 31

Applicants must be a high school senior, have obtained a GED or be a full-time college student. The student must have been an active member of ISAA for at least two years. Selection is based on participation in ISAA activities, academic achievement, financial need, community involvement and the reference letters.

 

CollegeSTEPS Sweepstakes

Award: $5,000, Deadline: June 30

Students must be attending a high school, college or university or be home schooled and be at least 14 years old. Winners are selected from those who enroll in the CollegeSTEPS program.

 

Giva Corporate Student Scholarship and Worldwide Community Ambassador Award

Award: $1,000, Deadline: June 1; December 1

Applicants must be attending any college or university worldwide as undergraduate or graduate students. Selection is based on the 600- to 1,000-word essay. The student's school must post information about the scholarship on the public website in order for the student to be eligible to apply.

 

Imagine Blue Awards

Award: $5,000, Deadline: November 4

Applicants must be students in high school through the post-graduate level. Selection is based on the Bluetooth project and application or prototype submitted. Judges will consider whether the project utilizes Bluetooth technology, the application meets an end user need, the application and demo script are well written and organized and the user interface is intuitive.

 

John J. Smith Graduate School Scolarship

Applicants must be current graduate level college students or be entering into a graduate program and be current NIRA members.

 

Harry Vold "Duke of the Chutes" Scholarship Award

Selection is based on the representation by the applicant of the following traits: courteousness, loyalty, faithfulness, honesty, kindness and generosity. In addition, the applicant must show patriotism and dedication to the sport of rodeo.

Helene M. Overly Memorial Graduate Scholarship

Applicants must be women enrolled in graduate studies in transportation or the related fields of engineering, planning, finance or logistics. Selection is based on the applicant's academic record, transportation-related activities or job skills and specific transportation goals.

 

Shlemon Awards

Applicants must be members of the Geological Society of America's Engineering Geology Division, and they must be conducting research at the master's or doctoral level.

 

ACI-NA Airport Commissioner's Scholarships

Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in airport management or airport operations. Applicants must attend an accredited school in the U.S. or Canada and have a GPA of at least 3.0.

 

NBRC/AMP Gareth B. Gish, MS, RRT Memorial and William F. Miller, MD Postgraduate Education Recognition Awards

Award: $2,500, Deadline: June 1

Applicants must be respiratory therapists who have been accepted into an advanced degree program of a fully accredited school. Application must be accompanied by an original essay describing how the award will aid in achieving an advanced degree and future goals in health care. A minimum 3.0 GPA is required.

 

Lady Mamie Ngan Memorial Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: January 31

Applicants must have completed a bachelor's degree. Preference will be given to members of AAS or SEDS-USA (Students for the Exploration and Development of Space). Applicants must submit an essay describing how they hope ISU will affect their future in the space community. This scholarship is to help pay for students to attend the International Space University's Space Studies Program or the Master in Space Studies Program.

 

DAAD/AICGS Research Fellowship Program

Award: $4,725, Deadline: February 28; August 31

Applicants must have a Ph.D. or be enrolled in a Ph.D. program and hold U.S. or German citizenship. The grant provides a research stay of two months at AICGS.

 

Fellowships for Regular Program in Greece

Award: $11,500, Deadline: January 15

Applicants must have completed at least one to two years of graduate study and must take exams in ancient Greek language, history and either literature or art and archaeology. Students must be able to read French, German, ancient Greek and Latin with an ability to also read modern Greek and Italian considered helpful. Applicants must be graduate students who are preparing for an advanced degree in classical and ancient Mediterranean studies or a related field. The fellowships provide study in Athens or Greece for nine months and may not be used for costs at the student's home institution.

 

Carl A. Ross Student Paper Award

Applicants must submit a 15- to 30-page research paper on an Appalachian studies topic. Selections will be made from two categories: middle/high school and undergraduate/graduate.

Applicants may not directly apply for the scholarship. Students must have excellent grades and performed research or lab work in their field.

 

English Language Learner Educator Incentive Program

Award: $5,000, Deadline: October 15

Applicants must be undergraduate or graduate students in their last two years of study who plan to become bilingual education teachers or teachers of English to non-native students in Connecticut public schools. Students must be enrolled full-time in participating undergraduate or graduate teacher preparation programs at the following universities: Central Connecticut State University, Fairfield University and Southern Connecticut State University. Applicants must start their teaching careers within 16 months of graduation.

 

Student Research Awards

Award: $2,500, Deadline: March 15

Applicants must be undergraduate, graduate or medical students not yet engaged in thesis research. Students must attend an accredited North American school and conduct their research with a mentor. The planned research project must last at least 10 weeks and must be relevant to IBD.

 

Hansen Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 28

Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in aerospace engineering or aeronautical engineering and must be involved in school and community activities as well as aviation. Applicants must be in good academic standing. Financial need will be considered. Applicants must also be EAA members or be recommended by an EAA member.

 

Payzer Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 28

Applicants must be accepted or enrolled in an accredited college or university with an emphasis on technical information and must intend to pursue a career in engineering, mathematics or the physical or biological sciences. Applicants must also be involved in school and community activities as well as aviation and be members of EAA.

 

John Henry Comstock Graduate Student Awards

Brenda Renee Horn Memorial Scholarship

Gamma Theta Upsilon-Geographical Honor Society

Harry S. Truman Research Grant

Award: $2,500, Deadline: April 1; October 1

Graduate students and post-doctoral scholars are most encouraged to apply, but others completing advanced research will be considered. Preference is given to research dealing with enduring public policy and foreign policy issues that have a high chance of being published or otherwise shared publicly. Applicants can receive up to two research grants in a five-year period. Grant winners must submit a report at the end of their studies.

 

ILA Jeanne S. Chall Research Fellowship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicants must be doctoral students planning or beginning their dissertation on one of the following topics in the field of reading: beginning reading, readability, reading difficulty, stages of reading development, the relation of vocabulary to reading and diagnosing and teaching adults with limited reading ability. Applicants must also be members of the International Literacy Association.
