Brigham Young University - Hawaii - National Merit Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: December 5

Applicant must be a National Merit Finalist who has designated Brigham Young University - Hawaii as his or her first-choice institution when completing the scholarship application. Iowa Newspaper Association Scholarships

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 12

Applicants must be Iowa residents who are high school seniors or current college students and must attend an in-state college or university. Students must plan to work in the newspaper industry in Iowa upon completion of their degrees.

 

Iowa Thespian Chapter Board Senior Scholarships

Award: $1,000, Deadline: October 2

Applicants must be Iowa high school seniors and have an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher with a GPA of 3.0 or higher in arts-related classes. Students must be members of the International Thespian Society in good standing. Applicants must plan to major or minor in theatre, film, radio and television, broadcasting, music or dance. Applicants must also perform an audition at the Iowa Thespian Festival in the performance, technical or theatre educator category.

 

Brigham Young University - Idaho - National Merit Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: December 5

Johansen International Competition for Young String Players

Award: $10,000, Deadline: December 1

Applicants must be students of violin, viola or cello between the ages of 13 and 17 at the time of competition. Students must not be under professional management and must perform five pieces for the competition.

 

Bucknell University - National Merit Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: December 5

Applicant must be a National Merit Finalist who has designated Bucknell University as his or her first-choice institution when completing the scholarship application. Julius and Esther Stulberg International String Competition

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicants must be students of violin, viola, cello or double bass, be 19 years of age or younger as of January 1 of the year of competition and perform a Bach piece and a solo for the competition, which is typically held in May.

 

Butler University - National Merit Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: December 5

Applicant must be a National Merit Finalist who has designated Butler University as his or her first-choice institution when completing the scholarship application. Maine Innkeepers Association Hospitality Scholarships

Applicants must be Maine residents and accepted to an accredited institution of higher learning with specialties in hotel administration or culinary sciences. Students must plan to begin a career in hospitality upon completion of their degrees.

 

Calvin College - National Merit Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: December 5

Massachusetts Student Broadcaster Scholarship

Applicants must be Massachusetts residents who are enrolled or plan to enroll in an accredited institution of higher learning that offers degrees in television and radio broadcasting. Students must meet their school's definition of a full-time student. Selection is based on financial need, academic merit, community service, extracurricular activities and work experience.

 

Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions

Award: $15,000, Deadline: Open

Applicants must be U.S. or Canadian citizens, residents of at least one year or students in U.S. or Canadian institutions of higher learning. Applicants must also be 20 to 30 years of age, have musical training and background and demonstrate operatic potential. They must be able to sing in more than one language. Applicants must audition with five arias.

 

Carleton College - National Merit Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: December 5

Applicants must be high school seniors, International Thespians members and delegates to the conference. Students must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher and audition in the category of performance, technical or theatre education.

 

Colby College - National Merit Scholarship

AXA Achievement Scholarships

Award: $25,000, Deadline: December 15

Applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal residents who are current high school seniors and are planning to enroll full-time in an accredited college or university in the fall following their graduation. They must show ambition and drive evidenced by outstanding achievement in school, community or workplace activities. A recommendation from an unrelated adult who can vouch for the student's achievement is required.

 

Boy Scout and Eagle Scout Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 15

Applicants must be graduating seniors in high school, Senior Boy Scouts or Explorers and residents of Illinois. Students must write an essay on Americanism and/or Boy Scout programs.

 

College of Charleston - National Merit Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: December 5

Applicants must be Arkansas residents who are high school seniors or undergraduate or graduate-level college students. They must have a GPA of 2.5 or above and must be planning to pursue a career in natural resources conservation. They cannot have received full scholarship or grant funding from another source. Selection is based on the standardized scoring of each application as a whole.

 

Concordia College - National Merit Scholarship

Beef Industry Scholarship

Applicants must be graduating high school seniors or college undergraduates, and they must have plans to be enrolled full-time in a two-year or four-year undergraduate program during the upcoming academic year. They must be enrolled in a beef industry-related program of study and have a demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in the beef industry through previous coursework taken, internships completed or other life experiences. They or their families must be members of the National Cattlemen's Beef Association. Selection is based on the strength of the essay, letter of intent and reference letters.

 

Connecticut Chapter Air and Waste Management Association Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: First weekday in April

Applicants must be Connecticut residents who have been accepted at or are enrolled at a postsecondary institution full-time. They must be studying or have plans to study a science or engineering subject that is related to air and waste management or a related environmental subject, and they must intend to pursue careers in one of these areas. Selection is based on academic achievement, stated career goals, extracurricular involvements and letters of recommendation.

 

Creighton University - National Merit Scholarship
