Award: $10,000, Deadline: June 30
Applicants must be residents of Washington, DC for at least 12 months before the start of their freshman year of college, high school graduates or GED recipients, enrolled at least half-time at an eligible institution and be 24 years of age or younger. Applicants must maintain satisfactory academic progress, not have defaulted on student loans, have registered with the Selective Service, be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, have not already received a B.A. or B.S. and have not been incarcerated. The award provides up to $10,000 a year for the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition at public four year institutions in the U.S. and up to $2,500 per year for private colleges in DC, private Historically Black Colleges and Universities or two-year colleges nationwide.

Demonstrated fraternity involvement, demonstrated college/university and/or community involvement, demonstrated pursuit of professional development and scholastic average will all be considered along with other desirable characteristics like moral character and professional attitude.

Applicants must be members in good standing of Delta Sigma Pi with at least one semester or quarter of undergraduate studies remaining. Applicants are judged on scholastic achievement, financial need, fraternal service, service activities, letters of recommendation and overall presentation of required materials.

Applicants must be accepted to an accredited college, university or aviation technical school pursuing a course of study focusing on aviation. Applicants must also be involved in school and community activities as well as aviation. Recipient must show need for financial support.

Applicants may be entering college or vocational/technical school as a freshman or at a higher level with some college credits already completed. Grades, attitude, references, test scores, activities and participation in local lodge are considered in selecting scholarship recipients.

Applicants must be between 19 and 32 years old and attend a regional competition, performing four selections. If contestants are unable to participate in any of the scheduled regional auditions, they may instead submit a DVD, which must contain all four of the required repertoire selections. Finalists will be chosen, based on vocal beauty and technique, interpretation, acting, repertoire variety and presence.

Applicants must be enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs or the equivalent and be between the ages of 18 and 24. The applicants' teachers must be members of the National Opera Association. Selection is based on a recording of two arias for preliminary hearings and a live audition of four arias for the final judging. There is a $20 entry fee.

Applicants must be Native Americans with papers proving Native American blood, have a minimum 3.25 GPA and demonstrate financial need and academic achievement. Graduate students are eligible, but preference is given to undergraduate students. Undergraduate students may attend a college, university or technical school. No affiliation with DAR is required.
