Noyce Scholars Program

Applicant must be an undergraduate student who majored in mathematics, biology, chemistry, or physics who plans to become a secondary-level teacher. Award begins with paid, education-related internships for 50 first- or second-year students (10 students per year). Among many valuable experiences, some participants serve as teaching assistants for Elon Academy, a college-access program for students with financial need and/or no family history of college. Two-year scholarships encourage talented STEM majors to complete a Teacher Education program to earn licensure (grades 9-12) in addition to their bachelor's degree in mathematics, biology, chemistry or physics. Three cohorts (6 students per year) receive a $21,900 scholarship during both their junior and senior years.

 

Odebrecht Award for Sustainable Development

Applicant must be an undergraduate student in an engineering, architecture, building/construction management, or chemistry field. Applicant must submit a paper that outlines contributions to sustainability.

 

SkillsUSA Machining Championship Award

Award: $2,000, Deadline: June 1

Applicant must be a winner from a SkillsUSA state competition and be attending the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference this year. During the conference, students will complete agains each other, manufacturing parts using these sills: manual turning, manual lathe, CNC programming (turning and milling).

 

Visine Students with Vision Scholarship Program

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior or enrolled college student who demonstrates a clear and unique vision and strong ambition and determination to bring their dream to life. Academics, leadership in community service, extracurricular activities, and applicant's personal stories of how they are moving toward their goal will be considered.

 

VSAC Board of Directors Scholarship (Chris Robbins)

Applicant must be a resident of Caledonia, Essex or Orleans County in Vermont who will pursue a degree in engineering at an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Vermont John H. Chafee Education and Training Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a resident of Vermont under age 22 who is under the custody of the Vermont Commissioner of the Department for Children and Families (DCF) through their 18th birthday, or was adopted after age 16, and will attend an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Alice C. Coapland Scholarship

Applicant must be a female resident of Vermont who will attend an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Financial need, academic achievement, and school/community involvement must be demonstrated.

 

DEW Superintendents Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a resident of Vermont who will pursue education or training in civil or structural engineering or construction management. Financial need, community involvement/service and education/work ethic must be demonstrated.

 

High-Low Farm Orleans County 4-H Scholarship

Applicant must be a resident of Orleans County, VT who will attend an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Financial need, community involvement/service and education/work ethic must be demonstrated.

 

Jennie Johnson Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a resident of Essex or Orleans County, VT who will reside and work in Vermont upon graduate from an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Academic achievement and financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Jay Kaplan Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a resident of Vermont pursuing education or training related to science or finance at an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Emily Lester Vermont Opportunity Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be currently under the custody of the Vermont Commissioner of the Department of Children and Families (DCF) or be between the ages of 18 and 24 and have been under the custody of the Vermont Commissioner of DCF for at least six months between the ages of 16 and 18. Applicant must attend an accredited school in Vermont approved for federal Title IV funding. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Samuel W. Thompson Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a resident of Caledonia or Washington County, VT who was born in Vermont and will pursue a degree in law enforcement or fish and game management. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Vermont Foster/Adoptive Family Association Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a Vermont resident who was under the custody of the Vermont Commissioner of the Department for Children and Families (DCF) anytime after age 13 who will attend an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Clif Murray and Floyd Fuller Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a resident of Vermont who will pursue a degree in animal science or equine studies. Community service, financial need, and leadership skills must be demonstrated.

 

Anne Sturrock Nursing Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a member or child of a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Cape Coral, FL who will pursue a career in nursing. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

John and Ruth Childe Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduate of a Lee County, FL high school with a physical disability who is pursuing higher education in a college, university, or technical school.

 

John I. and Madeleine R. Taeni Scholarship

Applicant must be a resident of Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry or Lee County, FL who graduated high school at least two years ago and will pursue emergency medical technician training, nursing or paramedic training.

 

Faye Lynn Roberts Education Scholarship

Applicant must be a female resident of Lee County, FL at least 21 years of age who will pursue a career in computer training, court reporting, nursing or technical studies. Financial need must be demonstrated.

Applicant must be a graduate from a Lee County, FL high school who is pursuing post-secondary education. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Chip Johnson Scholarship

Applicant must be a resident of Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry or Lee County, FL who has completed at least 60 semester hours towards a four-year degree at Barry University, FGCU, Nova, Edison State College or Hodges University, or a regionally accredited college in the 5-county area. Minimum 3.5 GPA required.

Applicant must be a student with cystic fibrosis who is pursing an undergraduate or graduate degree during the upcoming academic year. Applicant must have completed high school or have obtained their GED before July 1, 2012.
