Hokuli`a Foundation Scholarship Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be a resident of North of South Kona who plans to study in the fields of healthcare, education or social work. Preference given to applicants who demonstrate an emphasis in advancing Native Hawaiian culture.

 

Hon Chew Hee Scholarship Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must attend an accredited two- or four-year college, university or art school with a major in fine arts. Preference may be given to students focusing on painting, drawing, sculpting, ceramics, printmaking or textile. Minimum 2.7 GPA and two letters of recommendation required (one from an art instructor).

 

Ichiro & Masako Hirata Scholarships

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be a full-time college junior, senior or graduate student with a major or concentration in education. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Ida M. Pope Memorial Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be a female of Hawaiian ancestry pursuing a major in education, health, or science (including counseling and social work). Minimum 3.5 GPA required.

 

Isemoto Contracting Co., Ltd. Scholarship Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be a graduate of a high school on the island of Hawaii and be accepted as an upper classman into one of the following college programs: school of engineering, teacher education program, or nursing program.

 

Iwamoto Family Scholarship Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must have graduated from a Kauai high school within the last three years and be currently enrolled in a college or university. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Jean Ileialoha Beniamina Scholarship for Ni'ihau Students Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be a resident of Kaua'i or Ni'ihau Island. Minimum 2.7 GPA required. Preference may be given to current Ni'ihau residents, Kaua'i residents who are one or two generations removed from Ni'ihau Island, or those who are proficient or fluent in the Hawaiian language. Additional essay is required.

 

John Dawe Dental Education Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be enrolled in a school of Dentistry, Dental Hygiene or Dental Assisting. Two letters of recommendation required.

 

Joseph & Alice Duarte Memorial Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be from the North of South Kona districts of the island of Hawaii. Preference given to graduates of Holualoa Elementary School.

 

Juliette M. Atherton Scholarship - Minister's Sons & Daughters

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be a dependent of an ordained and active Protestant minister in an established denomination in Hawaii.

 

Ka'a'awa Community Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be a resident of the Ka'a'awa area of Windward O'ahu. Preference is given to long time residents of Ka'a'awa.

 

Kahala Nui Residents Scholarship Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be an employee or a dependent of an employee of Kahala Senior Living Community, Inc. and attend an accredited two- or four- year non-profit college or university.

 

Kahiau Scholarship Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be a graduate from Kohala High School from a family that has lived in the North Kohala community for at least two generations. Applicant must be attending an out-of-state college or university, or a four-year university on O'ahu.

 

Kalihi Education Coalition Scholarship Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be a resident of Kalihi-Palama with a zip code of 96817 or 96819 who is an undergraduate or graduate student or is a current year graduating senior from Damien High School, Farrington High School or Kamehameha schools (Kapalama campus). Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Kawasaki-McGaha Scholarship Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be attending Hawaii Pacific University pursuing an undergraduate degree in computer studies or international studies.

 

Koloa Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be a resident of Koloa, Oma'o & Poipu, Lawai or Kalaheo. Two letters of recommendation, an essay and a minimum 2.0 GPA required.

 

Korean University Club Scholarship Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be of Korean ancestry and demonstrate financial need. Minimum 2.7 GPA required.

 

Laheenae Rebecca Hart Gay Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must major in art. Scholarship is not for those majoring in video, film, performing arts or the culinary arts.

 

Laura N. Dowsett Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be a college junior, senior or graduate student in an occupational therapy program.

 

Makinney & Pietsch Families Scholarship Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be an employee of qualified dependent of Title Guaranty of Hawaii, Inc. and Title Guaranty Escrow Services, Inc. or their respective subsidiary and affiliated corporations or entities. Eligible employees must have been employed full-time for at least one year. Applicant must be pursuing college studies.

 

Margaret Jones Memorial Nursing Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be a junior, senior or graduate student in a B.S.N. or M.S.N. nursing program at the University of Hawaii (U.H.) Manoa, U.H. Hilo or Hawaii Pacific University or a Ph.D program in Hawaii or on the U.S. mainland. Minimum 3.0 GPA required. Preference may be given to members of the Hawaii Nurses Association.

 

Mildred Towle Scholarship - Study Abroad

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be enrolled at a U.S. institution and be participating in a study abroad program in a foreign country as a junior, senior or graduate student during the regular academic year (summer semester not included). Those enrolled directly at a foreign based institution are not eligible. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Mildred Towle Scholarship for African-Americans

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be of African-American descent studying in Hawaii (Hawaii residency not required). Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Mildred Towle Scholarship for Study at Boston University

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be a resident of Hawaii attending Boston University. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Nick Van Pernis Scholarship Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be a graduate of a public or private high school in the Districts of North Kona, South Kona, North Kohala, South Kohala or Ka'u who is majoring in biotechnology, early childhood education, health sciences or marine sciences.

 

Office of Hawaiian Affairs Scholarship Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be a resident of Hawaii or the continental United States who is of Hawaiian ancestry and is a student at an accredited two- or four-year college or university (graduate or undergraduate). Financial need must be demonstrated. Minimum 2.0 GPA required for undergraduate students; 3.0 GPA for graduate students.

Applicant must be majoring in business at any University of Hawaii campus (excluding Manoa).

 

Paul & Betty Honzik Scholarship

Applicant must be a member in good standing of any Hawaii Presbyterian Church who is attending a four-year college or seminary. A letter of reference from church or pastor and minimum 3.0 GPA required.

Applicant must be a resident of Hawaii permanently or temporarily separated from birth parent(s) and aged out of the foster care system in the state of Hawaii. Minimum 2.0 GPA required.
