Scholarships in College Senior

Sheryl A. Horak Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a law enforcement explorer who is at least in the 12th grade. Three letters of recommendation and an essay are required. Candidates will be evaluated on academic record, leadership ability, extracurricular activities and essay. Application must be approved by applicant's local Learning for Life office for consideration.

 

National Technical Investigators' Association Captain James J. Regan Memorial Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a law enforcement explorer who is in the 12th grade or an accredited college program. Three letters of recommendation and an essay are required. Selection is based upon academic record, leadership ability, extracurricular activities, and essay. Application must be approved by applicant's local Learning for Life office for consideration.

 

James E. Breining Scholarship Award

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a law enforcement explorer in good standing with their local explorer post who will be graduating from high school within the next 18 months or is currently enrolled as an undergraduate. Recommendation from Post Advisor and essay are required.

 

Second IndianHead Division Association Scholarship Award

Award: $1,000, Deadline: June 1

Applicant must be a child or grandchild of a member of the Association who has been in good standing for three or more consecutive years, or of men or women killed in action while serving with the Second Division.

 

John F. Duffy Scholarship/Grant Program

Award: $4,000, Deadline: June 1

Applicant must be a survivor of a peace officer killed in the line of duty (spouse, child, stepchild, adopted child) and enrolled on the California Peace Officers' Memorial Monument. Applicant must be enrolled in the fall semester of the current year, carry a minimum of six units per quarter or eight units per semester, maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA and provide sealed copies of their most recent transcript.

 

John Foster Memorial College Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: June 4

Applicant must be attending an accredited college or university in the state of Kansas with a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester and be the dependent of a full-time active Kansas law enforcement officer.

 

Wisconsin Region Student Leadership Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, an undergraduate or graduate student in good standing enrolled in at least six semester credits currently enrolled in, or have received a degree from, a college or university within Wisconsin or upper peninsula of Michigan. Applicant must have demonstrated leadership and significant service to their campus community.

 

NACA East Coast Undergraduate Scholarship for Student Leaders

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, enrolled as an undergraduate student in good standing at a college or university in the former NACA East Coast Region (DC, DE, MD, NJ, NY and eastern PA). Significant involvement in the community or on campus and a minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

NACA Southeast Student Leadership Scholarships

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, full-time undergraduate student enrolled in a college or university within the former NACA Southeast region (AL, FL, GA, MS, NC, SC, TN, VA and PR) and have made significant contributions to the community or campus.

 

Air Force ROTC Scholarships

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be pursuing a bachelor's degree at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Minimum 3.0 GPA required. Applicant should contact the Department of Aerospace Studies for an application, interview and physical examination.

 

Arlindo Jorge Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be enrolled in the electrical and computer engineering major at the University of Massachusetts Amherst campus and in good academic standing. Strong preference given to applicants who show interest in taking courses in Portuguese language, literature and culture.

 

Viral Video Scholarship Contest

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must create a public service announcement video on about the effects of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Contest is a community service project that helps educate the public on safe driving practices.

 

America's Best Blogging Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: December 3

Applicant must be an incoming freshman or current college student who writes a blog post answering a prompt question that can be found on the sponsor's site. Selection will be based on blogger's creativity.

 

Mediacom World Class Scholarship Program

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a legal resident of a community being served by the North Central Division of Mediacom who is a high school senior or graduate planning to attend a qualified post-secondary institution. Selection based on academic achievement and leadership.

 

Third Marine Division Association Memorial Scholarship Fund

Applicant must be a dependent, unmarried child of an Association member, or of any military personnel who served in any 3d Marine Division (Rein) unit and lost their lives as a result of combat actions in the operations known as Desert Shield and Desert Storm and any other Southwest Asia operations after August 2, 1990. Applicant must attend a college or university in the United States or Canada. Minimum 2.0 GPA required.

 

Mensa Education and Research Foundation Scholarship Program

Applicant must be a resident of a participating American Mensa Local Group's area enrolled in a degree program at an accredited U.S. college or university. Essay is required.

 

National Pathfinder Scholarship

Betty Rendel Scholarship

Applicant must be a female undergraduate student who has successfully completed at least two years of college course work and is majoring in political science, government or economics.

 

Dorothy Andrews Kabis Memorial Internship

Applicant must be female, at least a junior in college or a college student 21 years of age or older, with a general knowledge of government, a keen interested in politics, campaign experience, and sufficient clerical office skills.

 

Barnes W. Rose, Jr. and Eva Rose Nichol Scholarship Program

Applicant must be a graduate of Albuquerque High School who demonstrates financial need and will attend a college or university in pursuit of a degree in one of the STEM majors (science, technology, engineering and math). Essay, reference from a math/science teacher, and minimum 3.6 cumulative GPA required.

 

Carl F. Scott Scholarship Fund

Applicant must be a full-time student enrolled in an approved two- or four-year nonprofit or public secondary educational institution. Applicant must meet one of the following requirements: biological child, stepchild, or adopted child of a member in good standing of Tucumcari Lodge No. 27, AF & AM; member in good standing of Tucumcari Assembly No. 4, Rainbow Girls or graduate of a Quay County High School. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

Excel Staffing Companies Scholarships for Excellence in Continuing Education

Applicant must reside or work in Bernalillo, Eddy, Sandoval, Valencia, or Santa Fe counties in New Mexico, and work a minimum of 20 hours per week.

 

New Mexico Manufactured Housing Association Scholarship Program

Applicant must live in a mobile/manufactured home and plan to attend a two- or four-year nonprofit or public educational institution or university full time. Essay and minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required.

 

Notah Begay III Scholarship Program

Applicant must be a Native American scholar-athlete who graduated from a New Mexico High School, and will attend a community college or four-year non-profit or public educational institute full time. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required.

 

The Amarillo Garden Club Scholarship

Applicant must be a female student, residing in the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle, who is a junior or senior attending Texas Tech University or West Texas A&M University with a major in horticulture. Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA required.

 

Association of Information Technology Professionals Scholarship

Applicant must be a resident of the northernmost 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle, who will be or is currently attending West Texas A&M University or Amarillo College and majoring in computer information systems. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

The A.A. and Hattie Mae Bush Accounting Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduating senior or currently enrolled college student from the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle, or currently attending Amarillo College, Texas Tech University or West Texas A&M University and majoring in accounting. Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA required.

 

The Nancy Gerald Memorial Nursing Scholarship

Applicant must be a junior or senior level college student from the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle who exhibits integrity, thriftiness, ambition, moral character and a sincere desire to achieve a higher education. Applicant must be majoring in the field of nursing at Amarillo College or West Texas A&M University. Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA required.

 

Howard D. Graves Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduating or currently enrolled student from the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle, who will attend an institution in the Texas A&M System. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required.

 

The Henry Hamilton Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduating or currently enrolled student from the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle who will major in a field of engineering and/or environmental science and exhibits community service, leadership and financial need. Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA required.
