Dean's Scholarship

Applicant must be a first-time, domestic, undergraduate degree-seeking student entering the university in the fall. Applicant must have a minimum 2.7 GPA and a minimum composite ACT score of 26 (combined SAT Reasoning score of 1170). Admission application file is required to be submitted and applicant must be admissible to the university.

 

WMU First Step Scholars Program

Applicant must be an undergraduate student entering the university in the fall or spring and have graduated from a Michigan high school or is transferring to the university from a Michigan community college. Applicant must be an undocumented Michigan resident, or the child of an undocumented resident who paid state taxes for the last two consecutive years. Award is designed to help undocumented residents of Michigan earn a bachelors degree.

 

Diversity & Multiculturalism Scholarship

Applicant must be a first-time, domestic, undergraduate degree-seeking student entering the university in the fall. Admission application file must be completed and applicant must be admissible to the university. Essay questions, participation in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Academy, and desire to add multiculturalism on campus are required.

 

Presidential Scholarship

Award: $8,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a first-time, domestic, undergraduate degree-seeking student entering the university in the fall. Applicant must have a cumulative 3.5 GPA at the end of their junior year and a minimum composite ACT score of 25 (combined SAT Reasoning score of 1130). Applicants are automatically considered for award provided they apply to the university.

 

College Toolkit Scholarship for High School Students

Applicant must be a high school student and pick at least three colleges they are considering, and rank them in order of preference.

 

Collegiate Scholarship

Award: $8,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a full-time student who is able to demonstrate significant academic achievement above and beyond the average academic profile of a student admitted in the university's freshman class. Minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1350 (composite ACT score of 31) required in order to receive consideration.

 

Housing Scholarship

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be able to demonstrate financial need. Award provides students with an affordable living option. Recipients will live in a home-like setting where they work in cooperative partnership to purchase and prepare meals and assume responsibility for household tasks. Recipients are responsible for their fair share of household expenses such as food and utilities. Each student contributes approximately $950 per semester.

 

Allied Healthcare Scholarship Program

Selection is based upon financial need, career objectives within the next five to 10 years, community involvement, community background, and academic performance. Recipient commits to a one-year service obligation service practicing direct patient care in a medically underserved area (MUA) of California.

 

Licensed Vocational Nurse Loan Repayment Program

Selection is based upon work experience in a medically underserved area, amount of debt, professional goals within the next five to ten years, community service and membership organizations, and community background. Recipient commits to practice direct patient care for two-years in a medically underserved area (MUA) of California. Program looks to increase the number of vocational nurses practicing in medically underserved areas of California and assist licensed vocational nurses in repaying educational debt that was incurred as a result of pursuing a license in vocational nursing.

 

Licensed Mental Health Services Provider Educational Program

Applicant must be a licensed mental health service provider who holds a full and unrestricted license to practice in California or are registered Marriage and Family Therapist or Clinical Social Worker in good standing. Program eligibility includes health-related work experience in a MHPSA or qualified facility and have received significant training in cultural and linguistic competence. Selection is also based upon professional goals for the next five to ten years, community background, and community service. Scholarship encourages licensed mental health service providers to practice in a mental health professional shortage area or qualify in California by authorizing a plan for repayment of their educational loans in exchange for their service in a designated shortage area for a minimum of two years. Program pays up to $15,000 in outstanding government or commercial educational loans for expenses incurred for their mental health service provider education.

 

Steven M. Thompson Physician Corps Loan Repayment Program

Symantec Graduate Fellowship

Applicant must be a senior in college or graduate student attending a U.S. university in a Ph.D. or master's program focused on technology research. Preference will be given to students with a desire to work in an industrial research lab and those working on research projects likely to have real-world practical value to customers, in areas related to Symantec's businesses of information security, availability, and integrity. Application form including a personal statement of research interests (not to exceed 500 words) and three letters of recommendation are required.

 

Transfer Scholarship

Lucia A. Wright Piano Scholarship

Applicant must be between the ages of 17 and 25 who is a resident of the state of Maine. Applicant must be a music major in the fall semester at any accredited music school, college, or university. Audition (not to exceed 15 minutes) requires applicants to perform at least two memorized compositions from two different periods (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, or Modern).

International Baccalaureate Scholarship

Applicant must be a high school senior who completes the IB Diploma Programme. For initial consideration, IB Diploma Candidate status must be noted on the applicant's high school transcript. Verification of the IB Diploma completion will be confirmed with the official final high school transcript.

 

Top 10% Scholarship

Applicant must rank in the top 10% of a Texas public high school. Award may not be stacked with other awards.

 

Jewish Educational Loan

Applicant must be a Jewish resident of the Washington, DC metropolitan area who is enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program or vocational training program in the United States.

 

Sahm/Goldman Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a Jewish resident of the Washington, DC metropolitan area and have completed a minimum of two years of undergraduate study. Priority is given to applicants who are traveling to Israel for the first time. Selection is based upon financial need and academic merit.

 

Academic Leadership Scholarship

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and a minimum composite 22 ACT score (1030 SAT Reasoning). Interview and essay are required.
