Frank Knox Memorial Fellowship

Award: $20,000, Deadline: November 30

Applicant must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident who has recently graduated or is about to graduate from an institution which is a member of or affiliated with AUCC. Applicants presently studying in the U.S. are not eligible.

 

Leon and Lorraine Watson North Carolina Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be accepted for full-time enrollment and show evidence of high financial need as well as be a North Carolina resident. Selection is based upon standardized test scores and academic performance. Preference given to students who are first generation college students, show evidence of having overcome adversity, and provide socioeconomic diversity to college community.

 

Full-time Employee Scholarship

Award: $600, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and a full-time aviation career employee. Part-time study must be directed toward enhancing job skills.

 

AGC Education and Research Foundation Graduate Award

Award: $7,500, Deadline: November 15

Applicant must be a college senior enrolled in an ABET or ACCE-accredited (or candidate status) construction or civil engineering program, or possess an undergraduate construction or civil engineering degree from such an accredited program. Applicant must be enrolled or planning to enroll as a full-time student in a construction graduate degree program or part-time student in one of the sponsor's recognized master's programs for the fall term; one full academic year is required to remain in the applicant's schooling. Application, evaluation forms, and transcript are required.

 

GSCAA Scholars Competition

Award: $3,500, Deadline: June 1

Applicant must have completed at least the first year of a collegiate turfgrass management program and be planning a career as a golf course superintendent. Selection is based upon academic excellence, extracurricular activities, and recommendations from college advisors and golf course superintendents or other employers. International students attending a US institution may also apply.

 

American Institute for Economic Research Fellowship - Summer Program

Award: $3,480, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a graduating senior applying to a doctoral program in economics or a student currently enrolled in such a program. Students who have successfully completed at least one summer fellowship, demonstrate potential for development as an economic scientist, and are enrolled in an accredited graduate degree program may be awarded a Fellowship In Absentia for study at the college or university of their choice following the summer fellowship. Resume, personal statement, reference letters, writing sample, and official transcript(s) are required to be submitted.

 

Juliette A. Southard/Oral B. Laboratories Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: January 31

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, an ADAA member, and a high school graduate or hold the GED. Transcripts, proof of acceptance to program, two letters of reference, and applicant's letter of intent to pursue a long-range career in dental assisting required. Selection is based upon academic achievement and ability and interest in the career of dental assisting.

 

Church and Campus Scholarship

Award: $7,000, Deadline: None

Applicant must be a Presbyterian student, have pastor's recommendation, and possess outstanding academic ability, character, and leadership. Financial need is considered.

 

Freshman Research Associates Grant

Award: $1,500, Deadline: February 15

Selection is based upon overall school record and proposed research project.

 

Transfer Scholarship

Award: $12,000, Deadline: None

Applicant must be a transfer student with GPA between 2.8 and 3.25 and an associate degree or at least 15 credits completed. This scholarship, and all scholarships offered through Lynn University, are applicable only at Lynn University and cannot be applied toward any other institution of higher learning.

 

Transfer Honor Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must have a minimum 3.3 GPA and have completed at least one year of course work prior to transferring.

New York Financial Writers Association Scholarship

Applicant must be attending a school in the New York City metropolitan area and show interest in becoming a business journalist.

 

National High School Journalist of the Year Sister Rita Jeanne Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 15 (state competition); March 15 (national competition)

Applicant must be planning to study journalism in college, be planning a career in journalism, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and have participated in high school journalism for at least two years.

 

Fellowship on Women and Public Policy

Award: $9,000, Deadline: September 1

Applicant must be enrolled at a college or university in New York state, have completed at least 12 hours of graduate work, and demonstrate interest in improving the status of women through studies, research, employment, or volunteer work. Fellowship includes work at the Center for Women in Government & Civil Society and at either the New York state legislature, a state agency, or a statewide advocacy organization in Albany, N.Y.

 

Graduate Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a member of Delta Delta Delta. Selection is based upon academic achievement, community/campus involvement, Delta Delta Delta involvement, and financial need.

 

A.R.A. Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a child of an employee of direct member companies belonging to the Automotive Recyclers Association.

 

Central Europe Research Scholar Program

Award: $11,500, Deadline: January 15; October 1

Selection is based upon the research proposal, need for in-country resources, letters of recommendation, and language proficiency. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with advanced knowledge of the host country's language. Research proposal of 1,000 words, an agreement and a release form, a medical evaluation, two letters of recommendation, a curriculum vitae in both English and the language of the host country, and a financial need statement are required to be submitted. Award is for individual research opportunities in the Baltics, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, or Slovakia.

 

Rawley Silver Scholarship

Award: $600, Deadline: June 15

Applicant must be an active student member of AATA, be enrolled or accepted in an AATA-approved program, and submit transcripts, letters of recommendation, essay, and financial information. Selection is based upon academic ability and financial need.

 

Nursing Economics Foundation Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a registered nurse with a career interest in nursing leadership, administration, or management. Selection is based upon work experience, educational history, honors and awards, published works, presentations and lectures, community service, and GRE or MAT test scores. Must be a US citizen, and show evidence of leadership.

 

R.W. Bob Holden Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: August 31

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, be a resident of Hawaii, be enrolled full time, and submit a transcript, autobiography, career goals, and recommendation from principal, dean, instructor, or counselor.

 

Robert G. Athearn Award

Award: $500, Deadline: June 1

Award is for the best published book on the twentieth-century American West. Award is $500 to the author, $500 to the press.

 

James M. Philputt Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), plan to prepare for the ordained ministry, have a minimum "C+" grade average, and submit transcripts and references.

 

Mary Isabel Sibley Fellowship

Award: $20,000, Deadline: January 18

Applicant must be an unmarried woman from age 25 to 35, have her doctorate or have fulfilled all requirements for it except the dissertation, and be planning full-time research during the fellowship year.

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, a registered nurse, and be studying in a nursing program with an emphasis on lung and respiratory disease.

 

Research Scholar-in-Residence Fellowship

Applicant must be a woman holding a doctoral degree. Priority is given to candidates with demonstrated knowledge of and experience with women's issues in higher education, and to those with three to five years experience in research and/or information analysis.
