Applicant must be the current member of the Sons of Noway, or be the child or grandchild of a current member. Applicant must be between the ages of 18 and 23 and must have completed high school in the United States and have been accepted by a specific Norwegian Folk High School. Selection is based upon statement of cross-cultural education goals, academic potential, letters of recommendation, essay, involvement in Sons of Norway or community activities, and financial need.

Judith L. Weidman Racial Ethnic Minority Fellowship

Award: $30,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a United Methodist of racial ethnic minority heritage and must be a recent college or seminary graduate who has broad communications training, including an understanding of effective public relations. Applicant must consider pursuing communications for The United Methodist Church as a career. Fluency in English and ability to relocate for one year are required. Fellowship offers a mentoring experience intended to prepare the recipient for a communications career in an Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church in the United States.

 

New York City Public Schools Scholarship Competition

New York City public high school students may compete in the All-City Students Art Exhibit. Scholarship winners must apply to and be accepted at a location of The Art Institutes system of schools to validate the scholarship. Scholarships can be applied toward tuition only.

Skills USA Championship

Students who are members of SkillsUSA may compete in local, state, and national championships. The winners of the national championships are awarded the following scholarships. Winners of the Advertising Design, Culinary, Photography, and Web Design championships will be awarded a $20,000 tuition scholarship. Winners of the 3-D Visualization and Animation as well as the Television Production championships will be awarded a $10,000 tuition scholarship. Each Art Institute has a limited number of scholarships. Winners are permitted to choose The Art Institute location of their choice and scholarships will be awarded on a first-come-first-serve basis.

 

National Art Honor Society Scholarship

Applicants must be a high school senior and a member of the National Art Honor Society. Applicants must submit six slides of six different original pieces of artwork representing your creative ability and interest. Digital files may be submitted in lieu of slides. Applicant must submit a written statement describing their artistic career goals and why they want to be considered for a scholarship. Winners must apply for admission at an Art Institute location and be accepted to validate scholarship.

 

Passion for Fashion Competition

Applicant must be a high school student with a minimum 2.O GPA who is able to fulfill all general admission and competition guidelines (guidelines differ depending on whether applicant is competing in Fashion Design or Fashion Marketing & Merchandising and Retail Management).

 

Art Institutes Best Teen Chef Competition

Award: $30,000, Deadline: February 10

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior with a minimum 2.0 GPA. Entry form, high school transcript, and paragraph stating why he/she would like to be a culinary professional, and identify who inspires them and why required. Notebook with the following required: a menu with descriptions for a two-course meal, including an appetizer, soup or salad, and a main course wit a sauce, garnish, vegetable, and starch. Also include a detailed recipe and directions for each course.

 

Art Institutes Scholarship Competition
