Applicant must be a Tennessee JROTC cadet who has been awarded either The American Legion General Military Excellence or The American Legion Scholastic Award Medal. Recommendation is required.

Health Policy Research Award

Applicant must be Board certified or an eligible urologist who has successfully competed for a new externally-funded, peer-reviewed career development award (i.e., K07/K08/K23 awards from NIH, or career development type grants from the Department of Defense, American Cancer Society or others) within federal fiscal year 2006.

 

Scholarship for Rural America

Award: $1,000, Deadline: Mid-February

Applicant must be a high school senior from a United States farm family whose primary income source (50% or more) is derived from farming. Recipient must enroll in a full-time course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school. Applicant cannot be a dependent of a Cargill employee. Selection is based upon financial need, academic achievement, and other accomplishments.

 

Cargill Community Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: Mid-February

Applicant must be a high school senior and a U.S. citizen graduating from a school in a community where Cargill has a presence. Applicant cannot be a dependent of a Cargill employee. Recipient must enroll in a full-time course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational- technical school. Selection is based upon financial need, academic achievement, and other accomplishments.

Applicant must be the child of an Cargill employee working on a permanent full-time or part-time basis. Applicant should apply during junior year of high school and must take PSAT/NMSC test in October of that year. Selection is based upon test scores, academic record, and other accomplishments. Award amounts are determined by financial need.

 

Scholars Program for Sons and Daughters

Applicants must be children of Cargill employees working on a permanent full-time or part-time basis. Applicants should apply during senior year of high school. Selection is based upon academic record and other accomplishments.

 

Polish Women's Alliance of America Scholarship

Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student who has been a member of P.W.A. of A. for at least five years, is in good standing, and has at least $3,000 in insurance coverage with P.W.A. of A. Recipients must agree to keep a minimum of $3,000 insurance coverage in force for at least ten years from the date of their most recently received P.W.A. of A. scholarship.

 

Thomas Wood Baldridge Scholarship

Applicant must be a Jaycee, an immediate family member of a Jaycee, or a descendent of a former Jaycee, and must be enrolled in or accepted for admission to a college or university. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, and demonstrate academic potential, leadership, and financial need. Applicant must submit a self-addressed, stamped, business-size envelope with $5 for an application.

 

Charles R. Ford Scholarship

Applicant must be an active member of Jaycees wishing to complete formal education, must be a U.S. citizen, must demonstrate academic potential, leadership, and financial need, and must submit a self-addressed, stamped, business-size envelope with $5 for an application.

Applicant must submit essay and two letters of recommendation from professionals in the field. Music, dance, theatre (including technical) applicants must audition. Art applicants must submit portfolio.

Chapter 4 - Lawrence A. Wacker Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be seeking a bachelor's degree in manufacturing, mechanical or industrial engineering in a four-year program at an accredited, public or private college or university within the state of Wisconsin. First preference will be given to scholarship applicants who are Chapter 4 members, their spouse, and/or their children or grandchildren. Second preference will be given to scholarship applicants who reside within the following Wisconsin counties: Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington and Waukesha. Third preference will be given to scholarship applicants who reside within the state of Wisconsin. A minimum 3.0 GPA is required.

 

Chapter One - Detroit Founding Chapter Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicants must be a full- or part-time undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in a manufacturing engineering, manufacturing engineering technology or closely related degree or certificate program. Preference will be given to a member in good standing of their respective SME Student Chapter or SME-Detroit Chapter One - The Founding Chapter. A minimum 3.0 GPA is required; good character and leadership must be demonstrated.

 

Walt Bartram Memorial Education Award (Region 12 & Chapter 119)

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior who commits to enroll in or who already is enrolled as a full-time college or university student pursuing a degree in manufacturing engineering or a closely related field within the areas of New Mexico, Arizona, or Southern California. Applicant must be a resident of one of those states and be a current SME Chapter member (with the exception of high school students who may apply without any SME member relationship). A minimum 3.5 GPA is required.

 

E. Wayne Kay Community College Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior or full-time undergraduate student enrolled in a degree program in manufacturing or a closely related field with less than 60 college credit hours completed at a two year community college or trade school in the United States or Canada. A minimum 3.0 GPA is required.

 

SME Director's Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in a manufacturing or related degree program in the United States or Canada. Applicant must have completed a minimum of 30 college credit hours and be seeking a career in manufacturing. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate leadership skills in a community, academic, or professional environment. A minimum 3.5 GPA is required.

 

NJCLASS Loans (New Jersey College Loans to Assist State Students)

Award: $500, Deadline: None

Undergraduate and graduate students or parent(s), legal guardian, spouse or relative may borrow for each student per academic year. New Jersey students must be enrolled at least half-time, at an approved school in New Jersey or outside of New Jersey. Out-of-state students must be enrolled at an approved New Jersey school. Applicants must be citizens or eligible non-citizens of the United States for at least six months prior to filing an application. Students also must be making satisfactory progress towards a degree.
