California Masonic Foundation Scholarship

Award: $11,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, a California resident for at least one year, demonstrate financial need, and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

 

Out of State Fee Waiver

Applicant must have a minimum 3.2 GPA, minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1200, and be an incoming freshman student or transfer student.

 

University Scholarship

Licensed Mental Health Services Provider Education Program

Award: $15,000, Deadline: March 24

Applicant must be a registered or licensed psychologist, postdoctoral psychological assistant, postdoctoral psychological trainee, registered or licensed marriage and family therapists, or a registered or licensed clinical social worker.

 

Good Tidings Foundation Community Service Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: November 10

Applicant must be a high school senior in the graduating class of 2015 with financial need and extraordinary community service accomplishments (far exceeding "minimum service hours" required by schools). Applicant must Reside in one of the following California counties: San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Benito, Merced, Stanislaus, Alameda, San Joaquin, Contra Costa, Solano, Yolo, Napa, Sonoma, or Marin. Essay describing unique community service activities and letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, charity director, or person familiar with your community service are required.

 

Italian Catholic Federation Scholarship

Award: $400, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be Roman Catholic, have a minimum 3.2 GPA, and be a resident of California, Nevada, Arizona, or an Illinois city where branches of the Federation are established. Applicant must be wholly or partially of Italian ancestry or be the child or grandchild of an ICF member. If the applicant is a child or grandchild of an ICF member, they do not have to live where Branches of the Federation are established. Letters of recommendation, financial need, and participation in church and community activities required.

 

MTS & Coca-Cola Laptop Scholarship

Applicant must be a high school senior who is graduating from an accredited San Diego county high school. Application and essay question are required to be submitted. Early application deadline is March 14; early applicants could win an iPad, iTunes gift card, Hard Rock Cafe gift card, or a Regional Monthly Transit Pass.

 

Luso-American Education Foundation Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a California resident, under 21 years of age, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, demonstrate high moral character, good citizenship, and dedication to American ideals. Applicant must also satisfy one of the following: (1) be of Portuguese descent, (2) enroll in Portuguese classes in a four-year college or university, or (3) be a member of an organization whose scholarships are administered by the Luso-American Education Foundation. Selection is based upon potential for success in college, financial need, and leadership. Unusual talents will be recognized.

 

Bachelor of Science Scholarship and Loan Repayment Program

Applicant must be enrolled or accepted in a Bachelor of Science nursing program (specific to the B.S.N. scholarship). Purpose of program is to increase the number of registered nurses (RN) practicing in medically underserved areas of California. Award is to pay tuition, necessary fees, books, supplies, and educational equipment costs for nursing; debt that was incurred while attending a baccalaureate degree nursing program. Recipient must be willing to practice in California as a RN providing full-time (32 hours per week) direct patient care.

 

Joseph Henry Jackson Literary Award

Applicant must be between 20 and 35 years of age by deadline and a resident of Nevada or northern California for three consecutive years prior to deadline. Applicant must submit an unpublished work-in-progress: fiction (novel or short story), nonfiction, prose, or poetry. Nonfiction writers who are not recipients of the award may be considered for the $1,000 Special Award for Nonfictional Prose. No separate application is required for the special award.

 

CCNMA Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 2

Applicant must be of Latino descent and be a California resident or be attending school in California. Essay, reference letters, transcripts, and samples of work required to be submitted. Selection is based upon commitment to a career in journalism, financial need, scholastic achievement, and community awareness.

 

California Farm Bureau Scholarship

Award: $2,750, Deadline: March 1

Selection is based upon scholastic achievement, career goals, leadership skills, and determination. Scholarship must be used at a four-year college or university in California.

 

Grange Insurance Group Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be Grange Insurance Group policy holder or the children of a policy holder, and must be a resident of California, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, or Wyoming. Selection is based upon: academic ability, community, church, and school involvement and financial need.

 

CSU Future Scholars Program

Award: $1,000, Deadline: July 15

Applicant must be a California resident, a graduate of a California high school or transfer from a California community college. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA in college preparatory courses (entering freshman) or meet regular CSU admissions requirements (transfer student) and enroll full time.

 

Chicana/Latina Foundation Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be have a minimum 2.5 GPA, be a woman and Latina. Applicant must attend school in in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Monterey, Napa, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, San Francisco, San Mateo, Solano, or Sonoma County, and must have resided in one of those counties for the past two years.

 

Golden Gate Restaurant Association Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 30

Applicant must be a California resident and meet one of the following categories: Category I: have graduated from a high school in the greater San Francisco Bay area and have been accepted as a full-time student; Category II: attend a college or university full time that operates under Internal Revenue Code Section 501 (c)(3) or is approved by GGRASF, have completed at least one semester and be accepted for the next semester, and have maintained a minimum 2.75 GPA; Category III: attend a college or university part time that operates under Internal Revenue Code Section 501 (c)(3) or is approved by GGRASF, work in the food service or hospitality industry at least 20 hours per week, have completed at least one semester and be accepted for the next semester, and have maintained a minimum 2.75 GPA.

 

California Wine Grap Growers Foundation Scholarship

Applicant must be a high school senior whose parents or legal guardians are vineyard employees of California winegrape growers. Selection based upon financial need, scholastic ability, community involvement/leadership, and 500 word essay.

 

Collegiate Academic Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: June 30

Applicant must be a high school graduate or equivalent with a minimum 2.0 GPA, and must be a resident of northern California or be attending a school in northern California.

 

Sage Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: January 29

Applicant must be a resident of Ventura County, CA, and a graduating high school senior from Ventura County who demonstrates good citizenship and shows initiative and improvement in academic accomplishments.

 

Charles Walton Peace Essay Contest

L. Gordon Bittle Memorial Scholarship

Fisher Communications, Inc. Minority Scholarship

Applicant must be involved in broadcasting, broadcast technology, marketing, or journalism courses. Applicants must be of non-white origin and must be at least a sophomore (by fall term of scholarship year) enrolled in the following: a broadcast, broadcast technology, marketing, or journalism curriculum leading to a baccalaureate degree at an accredited four-year college or university. A broadcast curriculum at an accredited community college, transferable to such a four-year baccalaureate degree program. A broadcast curriculum at an accredited vocational-technical school. If you are a permanent resident of the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California, or Montana tuition may be applied to an in-state or out-of-state school. If you are not a permanent resident of the above-mentioned states, tuition must be applied to a school in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California, or Montana.

 

San Joaquin Valley Section Scholarship

Applicant must be pursuing a degree in a petroleum-related field and be a resident of California or have petroleum-related work experience in the San Joaquin Valley area. Transcripts, teacher recommendation, and two essays required.

 

Gary W. Chism Memorial Award

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and major in medical research or business. Applicant must be a student in Ventura County intending to attend an accredited college or university.

 

SAME Engineer/Architect Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 11

Applicant must be a Ventura County resident who is either a high school senior or college freshman, sophomore, or junior with a minimum 3.0 GPA and majoring in engineering or architecture. Two letters of recommendation attesting to scientific capabilities are required to be submitted.

 

COARE Internship

Applicant must be an undergraduate or graduate student. The successful intern will participate in a variety of projects, and will have the opportunity to be engaged at all levels of COARE's campaigns. The position is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, and is designed to provide a wide range of practical, programmatic, and administrative experience relating to environmental and conservation issues of local, regional, national, and global significance. Interested and enthusiastic candidates may also be involved in research and legislation at the forefront of ocean-related policy and governance.

 

Fresno-Madera Medical Society Scholarship

Applicant must have been a resident of either Fresno or Madera counties, Calif. for at least one year and be approved for matriculation in a medical school. Award will be sent to the school of matriculation to be administered toward tuition, lab fees, books, and any other valid educational expenses.

 

Donald F. Hastings Scholarship

Applicant must be a United States citizen who is at least 18 years old and attending an institution in the United States in a welding engineering discipline. Minimum 2.5 GPA and financial need required. Preference given to applicants residing or attending school in Ohio or California.
