Homer Balabanis Memorial Scholarship in Economics

Award: $500, Deadline: April 6

Applicant must be an economics major with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

 

Robert M. Duncan Foundation Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: January 11

Applicant must be a sophomore, junior, or senior at a community college, private college, or university of California in Southern California with a minimum 3.5 GPA in at least two courses of Economics, United States History, and/or American Economic History.

 

HSF/HSBC-North America Scholarship Program

Award: $2,500, Deadline: January 31

Applicant must be a United States citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 who is of Hispanic heritage and enrolled as a full-time student in a degree-seeking program at an accredited college or university in the United States, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, or Guam with a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Applicant must be a current undergraduate sophomore or a current community college student who is planning on transferring to a four-year college or university; thus having junior status in the upcoming academic school year. Resume and FAFSA are required. Program will begin as of fall 2009.

 

HSF/Wells Fargo Scholarship Program

Award: $2,000, Deadline: December 15

Applicant must be a United States citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 who is of Hispanic heritage and is a current sophomore enrolled full-time with a minimum 3.0 GPA at a four-year accredited college or university in the United States; selected recipient must be enrolled as a junior during the award year. FAFSA is required. Program will be open as of fall 2009.

 

HSF/MassMutual Multicultural College Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: May 9

Applicant must be a United States citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 who is of African-American, Asian/Pacific Islander American, or Hispanic heritage. Applicant must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and plan to enroll as a full-time student pursuing a degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, marketing, mathematics, or statistics at a four-year accredited institution in the United States, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, or Guam during the upcoming academic year. FAFSA is required. Program will begin as of fall 2009.

Applicant must be a Ukiah-area high school senior who is interested in attending a vocational school, community college, or four-year college/university. Selection is based upon their strong family bond and sense of humor; their interest in pursuing a career in wildlife conservation, environmental resource management or economics; their community or school activities (including hobbies, interests, and non-traditional activities); and financial need.

 

Dortha Dever Business Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduate of an Oklahoma high school attending Oklahoma City University for business. Minimum 2.8 GPA required.

 

Yvonne Brathwaite Burke Scholarship

Applicant must be a full-time student at California State University Dominguez HIlls majoring in criminal justice, economics, labor studies, political science or public administration. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Elba L. and Gene Portteus Branigin Foundation Endowed Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduate of an Indiana high school who will major in accounting, business, economics, political science or pre-law at Franklin College.

Applicant must be a full-time entering freshman, current student, or graduate student enrolled in the College of Business. Minimum 2.75 GPA (undergraduates) and 3.0 GPA (graduates) required.

 

AfterCollege Finance and Insurance Careers Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: March 31; June 30; September 30; December 31

Applicant must be a current student working toward a bachelor's, master's or doctorate degree in: accounting, actuarial sciences, banking, economics, finance, financial management, insurance, risk management, or related majors. Minimum 3.0 GPA and good standing in program required. Applicant must click the blue Apply button on the AfterCollege application page and complete their AfterCollege profile which will be the criteria (with specific emphasis on the personal statement) used to determine the recipient of the award.

 

Phil Ellis Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a Burbank, Glendale, Montrose, La Crescenta, La Canada or Verdugo City high school who will major in accounting, business, economics, or marketing at an accredited post-secondary institution.

 

Ann Gavell Scholarship

Applicant must be enrolled at Evergreen State College full-time majoring in economics or politics. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Colin Reese Memorial Scholarship

The Kaplan Group Annual Scholarship

Paul Sumerall Memorial Scholarship

Ray Greenly Scholarship Program

Applicant must be U.S. citizen and college student with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and a chosen major relevant to digital retail. Headshot photograph for promotional purposes, two essays, letter of recommendation, and a case study project are required.

 

MillerCoors National Scholarship

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen of hispanic descent who is a junior or senior college student pursuing a degree in the field of business at a partnering university (list of partnering universities on sponsor's website). Minimum 3.0 GPA, full-time enrollment status, two letters of recommendation required.

 

Byron Hanke Fellowship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be enrolled in an accredited master's, doctoral, or law program in the United States or Canada. Required to write substantial paper on common-interest communities and have three references.

 

Bachelor's Degree Scholarship in Social Sciences

Award: $500, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be pursuing a bachelor's degree full-time in a social science related major. Selection is based on academic history, extracurricular activities, and employment history.

 

Women in Finance Scholarship

Applicant must be a female junior undergraduate student at a four-year university pursuing a degree in finance, economics, or accounting. Must be full-time student. Minimum 3.2 GPA, resume, transcript, and letter of recommendation required.
