Applicant must be a long-time resident of the Hamakua coast on the island of Hawaii and plan to attend school on the island of Hawaii. Preference given to Honoka'a High School graduates.

Selection is based upon past academic achievement, leadership abilities and potato-related areas of graduate study (i.e. agricultural engineering, agronomy, crop and soil science, entomology, food sciences, horticulture, plant pathology, etc.).
