Applicant must be a junior or senior business major enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States; or a graduate student enrolled or accepted to a master's or doctoral program within a Business school at an accredited college or university in the United States (applicant may apply during their sophomore year). Applicant must currently be a full-time student in good academic standing and making satisfactory progress toward an undergraduate or graduate degree. Financial need is not required. Members of the National NAACP Board of Directors, SCF Trustees, National Youth Work Committe, the NAACP Scholarship Selection Committee, employees and their spouses or families to the first degree of consanguinity are not eligible to apply for or receive this scholarship. Three letters of recommendation (other than relatives): one personal reference, two academic references from the business school of the accredited college (academic letters must be on official letterhead); recent official college transcript, evidence of full-time enrollment, and one page essay required.

Applicant must be a Spanish-speaking journalist or journalism student who is proficient in the Spanish language and who is able to write in that language at a professional level. Candidate must also demonstrate a sincere desire to pursue a career in the field of journalism in Spanish, have knowledge and interest for Hispanic culture and be up-to-date on current events in Latin America. A second year scholarship may be granted after viewing the recipient's grade point average, general performance, and recommendations of his/her professors.

Applicant must be looking to complete a dissertation on the history of the atmospheric, or related oceanic or hydrologic sciences. Fellowship looks to generate a dissertation topic in the history of the atmospheric, or related oceanic or hydrologic sciences, and to foster close working relations between historians and scientists. An effort will be made to place the student into a mentoring relationship with an AMS member at an appropriate institution.

Applicant must be legally blind in both eyes, residing in and pursuing a full-time course of study in an accredited degree program in the United States or Puerto Rico. Applicant must be pursuing an associate's degree as a bridge to a bachelor's degree or higher. Essay on how diagnosis has impacted their life and their future goals is required.. Copy of an acceptance letter from the college, university, or vocational-technical school applicant is planning to attend, written documentation from treating physician stating medical history, two letters of recommendation from non-related persons, official high school and/or current college transcript, and completed financial form to demonstrate financial need are required to be submitted.

Applicant must be an out gay man who is from the five county Philadelphia region (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties) or Camden County, or who is attending an accredited college, or graduate or professional school anywhere within the Philadelphia region. Purpose of award is to encourage gay men to obtain additional education, aspire to positions in which they contribute to society, be open about their sexual orientation, and act as role models for other gay men with similar potential.

Nominations will be invited from the AARC Board of Medical Advisors, the Board of Directors of the American Association for Respiratory Care, the Trustees of the American Respiratory Care Foundation, National Board for Respiratory Care and the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care. The nominating group is responsible for submitting the following: A complete and current biographical report on their nominee (curriculum vitae). Only one nominee (who is not a past recipient of the award) is allowed from each group; a statement, including data, which indicates the basis for the nomination, keeping the principle criterion of 'outstanding scientific contributions' in mind. They should illustrate the nominee's impact on respiratory care through the training of physicians and therapists, noting their accomplishments, and through publications and lectures; and a brief personal comment on their candidate's interests and activities outside of medicine (i.e. civic, family, hobby). A one-page, typed description of how applicant embodies excellence in home respiratory care relative to the following criteria is required: must currently be working in home respiratory care; must be a respiratory care practitioner; may not be employed by a manufacturer; may be involved in education; as well as the management and organization patient care; and should serve as an active patient advocate in home respiratory care with specific achievements that demonstrate leadership. Preference will be given to individuals who have participated in volunteer community efforts related to home respiratory care, in addition to meeting the medical needs of their patients, a curriculum vitae is required and supporting documentation should be included, if available.
