Applicant must be a Maryland resident who demonstrates financial need. Applicant must be degree-seeking, either full-time or part-time and attend one of the eligible institutions.

 

Sharon Christa McAuliffe Memorial Teacher Education Award

Applicant must be a Maryland resident and enroll for at least six credits per semester in a Maryland school in a program leading to a teaching certificate in an area of critical need.

 

Firefighter, Ambulance, and Rescue Squad Member Tuition Reimbursement

Applicant must be a Maryland resident attending a Maryland school, must serve a Maryland community while taking courses, and must continue to serve the community for one year after completing course work.

 

Edward T. Conroy Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must enroll at a two-year or four-year Maryland college or university, as a full-time or part-time, degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate student or attend a private career school and be the son or daughter of a member of the U.S. Armed Forces who died or was 100% disabled as a direct result of military service; a veteran who suffers, as a direct result of military service, a disability of 25 percent or greater and has exhausted or is no longer eligible for federal veterans' educational benefits; the son, daughter, or surviving spouse of a victim of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks who died as a result of the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City, the attack on the Pentagon in Virginia, or the crash of United Airlines Flight 93 in Pennsylvania; a POW/MIA of the Vietnam Conflict or his/her son or daughter; the son, daughter or surviving spouse (who has not remarried) of a state or local public safety employee or volunteer who died in the line of duty; or a state or local public safety employee or volunteer who was 100% disabled in the line of duty. The parent, veteran, POW or public safety employee or volunteer must have been a resident of Maryland at the time of death or when declared disabled or has a disability of 25 percent or greater and has exhausted or is no longer eligible for federal veteran's educational benefits.

ACEC Scholarship

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen enrolled in an engineering or land surveying ABET approved curriculum with standing as a junior, senior, fifth year, or graduate student. Applicant must be in good academic standing and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Selection is based upon work experience, extracurricular activities, and recommendation from a professor or consulting engineer or land surveyor.

 

Terrill Graduate Fellowship

Applicant must be an enrolled Northern Cheyenne Tribal member, a high school graduate or have GED, accepted at an accredited institution in an associate or bachelor's degree program, be age 18 by time of enrollment at a college or university, demonstrate financial need, and submit a certificate of tribal enrollment, proof of a completed application for financial aid and award letter, high school and college transcripts, one-page personal statement, listing of awards or achievements, college or university acceptance letter, and three letters of recommendation.

Applicant must be interested in pursuing a career in geriatrics, demonstrate a commitment to the field of geriatrics, be nominated by one faculty member with at least two supporting nomination letters from other faculty members, and must submit a curriculum vitae, personal statement describing interest in geriatrics and supporting materials, such as copies of research papers, abstracts, or reports, and a syllabus of the applicant's current program.

 

Thomas and Catherine Yoshikawa Award for Outstanding Scientific Achievement in Clinical Investigation

Applicant must have graduated from medical school on or after June 1980, be a U.S. or Canadian resident, be nominated, and submit a curriculum vitae, reprints of up to three publications illustrating the applicant's most important contributions, and at least one letter of recommendation.

 

Illustrators of the Future Contest

Applicant must be an amateur illustrator who has not had published or been payed, in media distributed nationally to the general public, more than three black-and-white story illustrations or more than one process-color painting. Entry should consist of three science fiction or fantasy illustrations done by entrant in a black-and-white medium, each representing a different theme and none having been previously published.
