Applicant must be of Swiss descent or have a parent who is a Swiss citizen, and be a US permanent resident. Award may be used at a Swiss university or federal institute of technology only.

 

Slovene National Benefit Society Scholarship

Award: $800, Deadline: August 1

Applicant must be a member of SNJP for at least two years, have a minimum $2,000 permanent life insurance with the company, maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA, be a full-time student (12 semester hours) attending an accredited college, university, or trade school, and participate in SNPJ activities during the four-year scholarship program.

Award is for research into the history and heritage of ethnic groups in the American United Methodist tradition. Women in United Methodist History Research Grant

Award: $2,500, Deadline: December 31

Award provides seed money (travel, secretarial services, etc.) for research projects relating specifically to the history of women in The United Methodist Church or its antecedents. William and Charlotte Cadbury Award

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 21

Applicants must be senior minority medical students at an accredited U.S. medical school. Students must demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, leadership and community service.

 

Alumni Association Annual Endowed Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: June 30

Applicant must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and demonstrate leadership ability and financial need.

 

Heritage College Departmental Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and submit essay and application.

 

American Legion Memorial Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a child, grandchild, adopted child, or stepchild of an American Legion or American Legion Auxiliary member. Applicant must demonstrate financial need, be loyal to his/her country, and show qualities of initiative and desire. Approval of application by a post of the American Legion is required.

 

American Postal Workers Union Award

Applicant must submit a paper on the struggle of the American Postal Workers Union or the organized labor movement.

 

John E. Skinner Memorial Fund Award

Award is to be used for travel to AFS meetings.

 

Lighthouse International's Scholarship and Career Awards

Applicant must reside and attend school in the United States and be legally blind. Awards based on academic and personal achievements. Application, essay, proof of U.S. citizenship, transcripts, and letters of recommendation are required to be submitted.

Arne Administrative Leadership Scholarship

Applicant must be a female U.S. citizen who holds a membership in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, and has completed a B.A. or B.S. degree or its equivalent. Academic records are required to be submitted.

 

James F. Connolly Congressional Information Service Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a law librarian who is pursuing a law degree. Preference will be given to librarians who demonstrate an interest in government publications.

 

Arthur N. Wilson, M.D., Memorial Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: June 17

Applicant must be a graduate of a Southeast Alaska high school, be of high moral character, and have consistently earned academic honors. Applicant must submit letter of application and curriculum vitae, high school transcript, and letter of recommendation from president of one of the local medical societies in Juneau, Ketchikan, or Sitka, Alaska.
