Casey Laine Armed Forces Scholarship

Award: $200, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior or current graduate from a Coastal Bend high school who will graduate in the top half of their graduating class. Applicant must fall into one of the following categories: be a member or honorably discharged veteran of the armed services; be an R.O.T.C. member (high school seniors must agree to join an R.O.T.C. program upon entering college); or be the son or daughter of a member or honorably discharged veteran of the armed services. Applicant must be planning to attend an any accredited college in the United States and enroll in a minimum of 12 semester hours.

 

Sue Kay Lay Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a high school senior who is graduating at the end of the spring semester from a high school in the Coastal Bend. Applicant must plan to enroll in college as a full-time student. Financial need, essay, and 4.0 GPA are required.

 

Brian and Colleen Miller Math and Science Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a high school junior or senior who is currently attending a Coastal Bend high school and who plans to attend an accredited four-year college or university. Essay and documentation of participation and/or awards in the areas of mathematics and/or science are required.

 

J.J. Rains Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Copperas Cove High School or Crossroads High School with a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA. Applicant must have participated in speech or debate. Financial need is required.

 

Jack and Shirley Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating high school student, current or returning student, and those with a GED certificate who plans to enroll in a technical or mechanical training (particularly automotive-related) program, or veterinary-related or business related field. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

Joseph A. Huerta Puedo Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduate from Copperas Cove High School or Crossroads High School who plans to enroll as a full-time college student at a four-year accredited college or university. Minimum 3.5 GPA and financial need are required.

 

Rotary Club of Corpus Christi Scholarship

Award: $3,300, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be graduating from a Copperas Cove district school; Tuloso-Midway, Calallen, West Oso, or Flour Bluff high schools; Incarnate Word Academy, Corpus Christi Academy, or Annapolis Christian Academy. Applicant must plan to attend Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi or Del Mar College as a full time student. Financial need is required. Award amount is dependent upon by chosen college/university.

 

Seaman Family Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a Coastal Bend or Calhoun County home-schooled student who has been accepted at an accredited college or university as a full-time student. Financial need and essay are required.

 

Roy Smith Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior in Nueces County who plans to enroll in a college or university as a full-time student. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

W.B. Ray High School Class of '56 Averill Johnson Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a senior at W.B. Ray High School who is in the top 10% of their graduating class who plans to enroll as a full-time student at an accredited college or university in the United States in the fall semester following graduation.

 

Faye and Rendell Webb Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduate from Miller or Moody High School who plans to pursue a major in education at a college in Texas. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Burt Black Memorial Fund

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a student with a disability or chronic health condition at one of the following high schools: Huron High School, Washtenaw Community College, or the University of Michigan.

 

Art Armstrong Scholarship Fund

Award: $3,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior from the Pioneer High School hockey team who has demonstrated sportsmanship on and off the ice, has strong leadership qualities and work habits, and has evidence of personal growth through team involvement.

 

Sara Marie Diepenhorst Memorial Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior of a Taylor high school who will attend the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor.

 

Andrea Greiner Memorial Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a graduate of Pioneer High School with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Personal traits of optimism, determination, courage, and a zest for life are required.

 

Mike Lapprich Memorial Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 11

Applicant must be a graduating hockey player from Huron High School.

 

Robert E. Newsted Memorial Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,700, Deadline: April 21

Applicant must be a graduating senior of a Detroit public high school.

 

Cathy Allor Mathematics Scholarship Fund

Award: $500, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior of Huron High School who has attended the high school for at least their junior and senior years. Transcript and minimum of one letter of recommendation required.

 

Josee L. Alvarez Memorial Fund

Award: $1,500, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior of Chelsea High School. Transcript and letter of recommendation are required to be submitted.

 

Joseph & Yvonne Dulin Scholarship Fund

Award: $250, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a resident of Washtenaw County who is a graduating senior of any Ypsilanti or Ann Arbor public school with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Applicant must be able to demonstrate volunteer service and commitment to education/educational goals. Priority will be given to disadvantaged students.

 

Andrew J. Lum Scholar Athlete Award Fund

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a Huron High School senior on the varsity football team.

 

Beth Moffat Memorial Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,075, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a female student athlete who will be graduating from Hartland High School. Applicant must have earned varsity athletic letters during at least two scholastic years at Hartland and also have a good driving record. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

NAACP Community Leadership Scholarship Fund

Award: $526, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a resident of the Ypsilanti-Willow Run or Ann Arbor areas who has been accepted to an accredited two- or four-year college or university. Applicant must be African-American and have demonstrated community involvement and leadership potential. Minimum 2.5 GPA and financial need are required.

 

Emerson & Gwendolyn Powrie Fund

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior of Pioneer High School who has been accepted to a two- or four-year college or university. Financial need and community service are required.

 

Joan Bauer Scheel Valedictorian Scholarship Fund

Award: $500, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be the valedictorian of Whitmore Lake High School who plans to attend a college or university.

 

Trigon Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be planning to be a full-time undergraduate student at the University of Michigan.

 

Bryan J. Westfield Scholarship Fund

Award: $500, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a female graduate of Pioneer High School who has received a varsity letter in track and field and/or cross-country. Applicant must meet athletic eligibility requirements at the time of graduation and be attending an institution of higher education this coming fall.

 

Ann N. MacGregor Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior or graduate who is a Kalamazoo County resident or is graduating or graduated from a Kalamazoo County high school who plans to enroll or currently enrolled as a full-time student in a degree-granting college or university as an undergraduate or graduate student in a visual arts program. Minimum 2.75 GPA required.

 

Bhargava Family Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior who is a Kalamazoo County resident or currently attending a Kalamazoo County high school. Applicant must be planning to enroll in an accredited college or university as a full-time student. Demonstration of leadership abilities and commitment to school and community involvement are required. Preference may be given to applicants who are Asian Indian, attend Portage Public Schools, or attend KAMSC (listed in order of preference) but this is not a requirement for application.

 

Brady & Patrick Gallagher Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating Loy Norrix High School senior planning to enroll as a full-time student in a two- or four-year college or university. Applicant must be able to demonstrate ability and interest in the area of creative arts as evidenced by participation in school and community activities. Financial need may be considered.
